  • "Had a nice visit, but you never really know how much food to order at a small plates restaurant. I always get the soy, ginger green beans which are awesome here. The crab potstickers/dumplings were very flavorful. Only complaints were that we asked for our steak plate to be "Medium" and it was very medium rare. Wrong meat temps at restaurants irritate me. And the desserts were TINY. Definitely not a sharing portion. Be forewarned. But the crème brulee cheesecake was very tasty. Would come again. Very nice atmosphere."

  • "This was my and my husband's 2nd time eating at Oro for our Anniversary. The food was very good and was consistent with our first visit. When we arrived 5:45 pm, there literally was no one else there so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. By the time we left there were about 13 - 15 people there. The General Manager was kind enough to bring my husband and I a glass of champagne with a hearty "Happy Anniversary"! The only thing that we were disappointed with was the fact the the Owner/Executive Chef, Chris Hylton came out and hung out at the bar with two people he obviously knew for at least our last 30 minutes there but didn't take the time to greet the other 10 guests that were in his restaurant, when he clearly was not busy."

  • "This was our first (and last) visit to Oro. We knew going in it was tapas (small plates). The food was very good but very pricey. The wine list was good but again, a 6 oz glass of wine at $24.00 is a bit outrageous. I asked for a mojito..the waitress replied "if the bartender has mint " he can make it. She brings over the cocktail which was simple syrup and mint flavor to me,. I suppose if I were a hummingbird it would be acceptable. I asked her where the mint was since this was clearly a clear beverage she handed me. She replies, "he strained it out". NOT. the bill was $148.00 4 people NO COCKTAILS, ordered 3 plates each. needless to say, we went to Sitti, for cocktails after!."

  • "Wonderful soft, but vibrant ambience that is only enhanced by beautifully presented and well portioned tapas style selections. Tried quite a few selections during this dining experience and everything was wonderful a concert on the palate! The wine list is very extensive with many selections that pair nicely with the food selections, especially several notable Napa Wineries reserves. The cocktails were just as impressive as the food. Looking forward to dining again very soon!"

  • "We had a great time! Our waitor was fantastic and he helped us select plates and drinks. The drinks were great- I had peach sangria. And it's tapas style. The food is out as soon as it's ready so you get something right away. We ordered 2 plates per person and shared. Then we had the s'mores fire for dessert which was fun! I'd definitely go back and would recommend this place. The food was delicious!"

We have eaten like that all our life but 15- 20$ for super tiny tapas! it's way too expensive for almost not eaten. Besides, we were four, and it was very hard having a conversation because of the noise. Sorry guys..."

Chicken flat bread ok, spring rolls good, paella blend, bone marrow ok, lamb good, beet salad good, strawberry salad good, sangria nice and strong. The nice touch was the executive chef coming to your table. Honestly, it can be a great place but the food needs a overhaul or we choose the wrong dishes. The service was great. Sorry for my HONEST review."

  • "This was our second visit to Oro. It was a Friday night and there was only a few other tables in the restaurant. We love eating downtown, but this was the worst meal we have had in a long time. The fish tacos were bland, and our octopus was completely overcooked. The flat bread and calamari were also very disappointing. We waited a long time for our server to return to the table to send back the octopus. We were sitting in the mezzanine and my husband had to call the hostess from his cell phone to find the server. This restaurant is in a prime location and the decor is elegant, but the food definitely needs some work. It is not a good sign when your restaurant is empty and others around the corner are slammed with people."

  • "Visited for Mother's Day dinner. Not crazy about the table-upstairs & I was facing the wall; however, it was next to a large window, which helped. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved the calamari as a starter with the sweet ginger sauce & the fish tacos. Added a salad of the day (mixed greens, roasted peppers & goat cheese), followed by the fish tacos, truffle mac & cheese & Seabass. Mouthwatering! Added a 4th taco. This left the 4 of us so full, that we passed on dessert. Bacon Maple Manhattan -- best Manhattan ever! Wine list disappointed that night (waitress explained they had been slammed the night before, & several wines were out). Enjoyed a chardonnay -definitely beyond price point. Good menu selection. We'll be back!"

  • "Nice location, nice ambiance, diverse menu. While most everything was well prepared, used fresh ingredients; however, there was nothing we ordered that had the WOW factor. We had a nice beet plate (molasses base, diced beets, & feta cheese), strawberry salad (could have been tossed together from bagged ingredients at home - the dressing was nothing special), shrimp dumplings (a pleasant surprise but the sauce had too much soy sauce and not enough other flavors, e.g., ginger), and finally the seafood risotto (which was good but a little bland. For the latter, many grains of risotto had dried out from sitting out too long uncovered). The defining moment was when the bottle of white wine was initially served room temperature. "

  • "Loved this place. Big windows/white decor. Sat upstairs. We love tapas and this place did not disappoint! The four of us shared the following: Strawberry salad, Beet Salad, Crispy Shrimp, Shrimp Dumplings, Filet Mignon, Sea Bass, Pork Belly, Truffle Mac & Cheese. Dessert was creme brulee cheesecake. Nice pace in between the dishes. Only entree that was just OK was the Pork Belly. Everything else was amazing. Great wine list. Will definitely be back."

  • "Truffle Mac and Cheese, Lobster pot pie, fish and steak tacos, flat breads, amazing salads, steak, chicken, pork skewers and so much more. I have been to Oro about a dozen times. The chef/owner cruses around the dining room talking to customers and ensuring that everyone is happy. He is from Jamaica so you have modern american with great flavors thanks to spices and fruits of the islands. The food is great, the dining room modern, good wine selection and great service. This is a small plate restaurant and we usually order 2 plates per person and share. Warning, the food comes out fast so only order 1 plate per person at a time ro you could be overwhelmed. "

  • "Incredibly disappointed with the quality of our food this time around. Ordered tuna tempura, fish tacos, pork belly and seared scallops.Tuna tempura was the highlight of the show with it's multiple layers of taste and texture!Would definitely recommend this item. Fish tacos were by far the worst thing I've eaten at this restaurant. The flour tortilla shells were grilled and while the grill marks looked nice they left the shell with a burned bitter taste.The fish bits inside the taco were tiny deep fried nuggets of an indescribable origin (and could have been deep fried bits of shoe leather for all I could tell). There was no sauce whatsoever on these tacos. I might try this restaurant again but I may wait a few months to dull my memory."

  • "Tried many dishes and all were excellent (except for the gnocchi, but I accidentally ordered not reading thoroughly that there was duck in it, which I'm not a fan!). The braised short rib that came with the sea bass was phenomenal. Truffle mac & cheese was amazing! The wine is great, but they don't have a very good variety of moderately priced wine which was hard for our group since not everyone wanted to pay $20/glass :) Food came quickly but service was a bit slow at times. It was OK, though, because the servers were fun and very knowledgeable when they did come around! No biggie, though, it was better than the service that constantly interrupts your conversation. We had a great time!"
