Five of us ate a variety of menu items. Everyone was satisfied, but nobody was overly impressed. I had The Roadie sandwich with chicken, avocado, and brie. It was good, but it wasn't something I felt like I would have to go back for again. My biggest problem was the ketchup situation. I am from Pittsburgh so it's Heinz or nothing. Origin has their own ketchup that they make in-house. That was very disappointing to me. Others at the table also did not like the ketchup. The two guys in the group both had the brisket sandwich. Same experience as me. The other two gals had salads and they too enjoyed their meals but weren't wowed. Basically, Origin is a solid place to have a good lunch, but don't expect to call this place your favorite.

I wasn't impressed with Origin Kitchen. In a city with the highest number of restaurant per capita I felt that Origin needs to step us their level of service. It was my first time to Origin Kitchen. I ordered a coffee as I do not drink... one of the attractions to the restaurant was the fact that they had a coffee bar not just a full service bar. When I ordered the coffee the server didn't ask me what kind or suggest one of the coffee's I had seen patrons rave about on yelp. She simply said would you like cream... and I had to ask for sugar! App and entrée GREAT. My friend said best.salad.ever. We order dessert to go... very disappointed in the size and flavors. There are so many choices in Dallas and at $100 for two people ...no worth it!

Never fails to have a great meal and experience here at Origin Kitchen + Bar! Brunch is a must here if you haven't been. I recommend the Chilaquiles with extra rosemary salsa. Waitstaff is very friendly and atmosphere is modern, warm and inviting. Another must get is the Warm Brussel sprout salad, tastiest way I've ever had brussel's...every!

We went during restaurant week - the food was very good - but what made it special was the Bartender. He was very keen on picking the right drink (and or wine) to go with your meal AND suit your palate. Really made for a great time. We got there at 7 - stayed til 10 and no one rushed us out the door...

Brunch is my favorite meal of the week, and there's nowhere I'd rather eat it, than Origin. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the bar serves up fantastic drinks, and the menu is spot on. It changes some seasonally, so that really keeps it interesting. If you're looking for a place that has healthy, hole food options, as well as an out of this world French toast, this is the place! Make reservations past 10:30 for brunch, tho, it gets busy.

The restaurant was nice as a whole. We weren't all that impressed with the food or drink. We went for brunch on Sunday. The chilaquiles were pretty good and my partner got the Green Eggs and Ham Sam and did not enjoy his at all. The mimosas did not have that great of a flavor either. On a bright note, we were seated right at our reservation time and there was ample parking. Probably wouldn't go back here but it wasn't the worst place.

Our servicer seemed distracted and overwhelmed. Our food was bland. The waiter got both of our orders wrong. To their credit both the owner and another waiter tried to rectify the problem but after our waiter spilled sauce all over me, brought us an undentified meat as opposed to the ham we ordered and told me sauce on the side was not an option when I later found out it was, at that point, they could not recover.

The food there is good but the service is always so slow. I've been there at least 5 times now and it just takes forever to get someone's attention. The ambiance is energetic but if you want to have a conversation, this is not the spot because it is very loud. Even with those downsides, I still go because the food has been consistently good.

We are fairly new to Dallas, and don't get too many opportunities to eat out. We are not vegetarian by any means, but my wife has allergies to dairy (milk & butter). While the menu looked delicious, we were a little disappointed on the dairy-free options. Luckily, the kitchen was able to make some scallops with olive oil. They were cooked perfectly, but we were disappointed there were absolutely no options for desserts.

Great food. My wife and I chose this one for an unexpected Friday night out. Our requirements were solid reviews from other diners and a farm-to-market menu (or as close to such a beast as Dallas can provide), and Origin didn't disappoint a bit. We shared 5 small plates, and each one that came out was better than the last. Looking forward to a return visit soon!

The food was absolutely delicious! Who knew brussel sprouts were so yummy? The petite filet was tender and cooked medium rare, exactly as I like it. The pork tenderloin with walnut mousse was amazing. The burger got rave reviews as well. The scallop special, while very tasty, was a small plate, not an entree portion. Instead of dessert, the bartender created after dinner drinks for each of us based on our individual tastes. It was a fun process and the drinks were creative and delightful. The atmosphere is casual chic with attentive staff, who obviously enjoy their work. Refreshing!

This was our third time at Origin and another great experience. The food is fresh and appealingly presented with nice balance of flavors. We started with the cheese and charcuterie board which we shared. Past visits we've been wowed by the crab and avocado salad and warm shaved brussels salad. Our entries were the petite filet and the hanger steak, both perfectly cooked, sliced and arrayed on the plate with beautiful accompaniments, and though both beef, very different flavors. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. The wait staff seems to enjoy working here. Vibe is casual, easy, friendly. Of the 20 or so eateries in the Knox-Henderson area (my neighborhood) I like Origin's food best.

Origin is a wonderful combination of sensory experiences from the delightful smiles that greet one at the door, the inviting aromas flowing from the kitchen to the beauty of the plate as it arrives and finally the exquisite tastes as they hit the tongue. Origin is becoming one of our favorite destinations for a meal at any hour or any occaision. The staff is truly gracious, friendly and fun. The menus are fresh in concept and the outcome fresh, perfectly cooked and outstanding in flavor the food has always been prepared taking advantage of the flavors of each ingrediant and nothing is masked in overpowering sauces or spice mixes. This spot puts the pleasure in to the dining experience.

Food was great. The charcuterie selection was excellent and the chef came out and gave us an explanation of where it was all from, which was cool. Our entrees were really good, too. It took forever for us to get our drinks, and we were getting frustrated, but when they came out the bartender walked over and apologized, saying it was his fault, not the waitress' and bought us another round for free. Very nice of them. Thumbs up.

Service: everyone was very attentive, polite, and helpful. However, our server came off very awkward, bc there were many uncomfortable silences and stares throughout the dinner. Food: Salmon Ceviche had great clean flavors, very balanced and great quality fish. They come with house made chips which are a great complement to the acidic ceviche. Only complaint was that the chips came out very greasy. Brussels sprout salad: if you like brussel sprouts you'll love this. Its a mix between brussels sprouts and caesar salad. Chicken: The chicken came out luke warm at best, and we were about to send it back...Once I tasted it, I forgot about the temperature. Super moist, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! We will absolutely go back and order again!

We were driven to eat here because your 2-hour wait at another venue that night was disastrous! And, fortunate for us, Origin was able to accommodate our party of 10 on such a short notice. We started out with the hummus, it was very good, just wish there was more of it for $11. The majority of us ordered the hamburgers with sweet potato fries ($15)! A few others had the Heart brand petite filet ($25) and it was delicious as well. When the plates of food arrived, the entire table was silent as we were all inhaling our food. The desserts were interesting but not much of a selection, cups served for coffee were huge and strong brewed! If we were back in that area, the hamburgers and hummus may be worth another visit.

We dined on last Friday night 5/17/14 and our food took over 50 minutes to arrive. Our waiter was very nice but it appeared he was the only server for the entire restaurant that evening between 6:45 -8:45. The menu was very interesting and our food was good, but my red fish was very greasy, the and the veggies overcooked. My husband's pork was better prepared but also on the greasy side...our server emphasized the local, fresh nature of their dishes and we loved that idea, but the dishes didn't reflect their vision that Friday night. We'll be back however, hoping this was just a fluke evening.

We went for Mother's Day brunch. I got a bottomless mimosa, which was delicious, but would hardly call it bottomless considering my glass would sit empty for lengthy amounts of time until I could wrangle a server to refill it. We also waited approx 45 min to get our food, brunch food that is. It took entirely too long, and considering how loud the restaurant was, we were pretty over it by the time we were eating. I love the paleo menu, the food is priced great, fresh, and large portions. If they found a way to slightly quiet down the room (I normally am not bothered by loudness) and DEFINATELY sped up service I would love to go back!

This was my first time here and I would go back. We went there for Mother's Day breakfast. I ordered the acai bowl and enjoyed this sweet breakfast...glad it was loaded with nuts. The breakfast menu was unusual...but I am glad that it did have some ordinary fare also. I did like that there was just the sound of the patrons and the chefs cooking behind me and no music. I would much rather just hear the hustle and bustle of the people... and that we did hear as the restaurant was full. I do wish the waitress would have checked on coffee refills...if we needed one we had to find the waitress and ask for it...and it was not easy catching her! I enjoyed the atmosphere...the decor was sleek. All in all it was a great experience.

The flavours of the food were pretty good and the drinks were ok.
