Diner Reviews
  • "The best thing about this place? We had no problem finding it. I had salmon, my husband had chicken parmesan. If you do go stick to the burger or salads or wraps. There dinner menu leaves a lot to be desired!"

  • "My friends and I are from Germany and were visiting New York City for the first time and decided to stop here our first night. We were seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where it was much more quiet. All of the staff was friendly and stopped to talk or ask how we were doing. The food was a little pricey but for being a restaurant in the city it was one of the most reasonably priced. The serving sizes were large and even after we had finished eating and paid we sat for another hour talking and enjoying the ambiance. We will all definitely be returning to this restaurant! Also their burgers are AMAZING! For the four of us to eat and have some beer we only paid about $65."

  • "We headed to O'Reilly's after the theatre and were pleasantly surprised to find a very authentic Irish Pub. The place is very comfortable and the food (lighter fare) was wonderful! Very pleasant and quick service. Perfect for late night snacking!"

  • "We ate here before seeing a show at Madison Square Garden. It was a bit of a walk, but still walkable. We ate in the upstairs dining room, which had a nice ambience, was not loud at all and we could easily talk throughout dinner. The food was great and waitress was attentive. We had the flatbreads and cheesesteak -- delicious! Very nice beer selection also. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends."

  • "The food was very good and the seating upstairs was quiet. The decor looks like what you would find in Ireland. Even the waitress was Irish. Plenty of room for seating which made the experience even more comfortable. Overall a great experience."

  • "Great place to reunite with a large group of old friends, they easily seated 8 on a Friday night at prime time without two day's notice. Upstairs is a great place for eating and catching up, not too loud or too quiet. Good food and good variety of options."

  • "We had our reservations for the 30th but did not make it in until the 31st. We had intended on just grabbing a bite and a beer before hitting the times square chaos, but enjoyed it so much we opted to stick around. We had a fun filled evening of food, beer and excellent service. The environment was fun and comfortable.. the best way to ring in the new year."

  • "We were there to celebrate a 71st birthday while visiting NYC with my parents. The service was substandard. We had to ask for water multiple times and didn't seem to have a dedicated server. We told the first server who had worked with us that we wanted to celebrate the birthday and she never did anything about it. No one offered to serve us any dessert at all. The steak and seafood were great . The fish in the fish and chips was overly breaded and the burger wasn't great. We would likely have overlooked some things if we we'd had better service."

  • "The food here is cuisine--not greasy pub grub. A wonderful waitstaff, too."

  • "We went there because of their online menu. When we got the menu, there were multiple items missing from the menu. The online menu makes it seem as if it is more of a restaurant, but the food is strictly bar food, and not that great. We tried the soup of the day, Gazpacho, and it was inedible. The service was terrible in that the wait between ordering and receiving the food was at least 45 minutes and they were not busy. Our server was nice but either she was new and didn't know the menu or was unwilling to steer us to the more edible offerings. We were with kids, had a couple of glasses of wine, so this wasn't a case of not knowing what we were getting into by dining at an Irish pub. They should update their menu online."

  • "The only problem we had was they have two websites and I was going by the old one that is still posted. When we arrived we found out the menu was not the same as what I had reviewed on the website because I was looking at the old website. I was very disappointed because I had some particular items I was looking for. However despite that initial frustration I have to say the food and service were very good and everyone was very happy with their meal. I had a big group and they accommodated us well and I thought the bill was very reasonable."

  • "O'Reilly's is close to shopping and after strolling NYC on a beautiful afternoon, found their listing on Open Table. We walked through a predictable long bar to our table. What a great experience for dinner. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Onion Soup (best ever), steamed mussels and stuffed mushrooms. All fabulous. The main course fettuccine with veal and the NY Strip Steak were excellent choices also. So glad we found O'Reillys. A great place."

  • "This was my third visit and it was disappointing. The first two times were excellent - good food, good service, good environment. Unfortunately this experience wasn't quite the same. We were a larger party so they sat us upstairs in the front room, which worked out nicely, however the server failed to put in one of the orders so one of our friends sat there watching all of us eat while he waited for his food. The server was apologetic and did take it off the bill but it still made for a less than perfect dining experience. I will definitely return as its right down the street from our apartment and as I said had 2 other very good experiences. Hopefully this was just a fluke."
