  • "One of the most unique things about this restaurant is the expansive soup and salad bar. There were many different choices of salads for all specific taste preferences. The lighting in this place is low and provides a nice dining environment. Both of the meals were delicious in every way. The view was incredible. The service second to none."

  • "Great place for a good time with friends or romantic evening watching the sunset. Food is average and the service is good, but the price you pay is for the view not so much for the food quality. The place looks kid friendly. Fortunately when I was there the only family with toddlers were well behaved. Unfortunately the group of three couples having a burping contest was not as behaved."

  • "Great location, view and serice. The food was fantastic as well. We arrived a little before sunset and were able to be seated and enjoy a cocktail while sitting by the window to watch the sunset. There was also outside seating with heat lamps available as well. I would reccomend this place to anyone, and we will be coming back frequently."

  • "Handicap access was poor, I had my mom with us. Service good, getting plates off the table needs more attention, some of the food was a bit dry. Pretty good view of Orange county Overrall experience was good"

  • "Our waiter Kyle was great, he was very kind and courteous to us. Customer service seems to be terrible at a lot of restaurants locally so it was very nice to have a waiter that cared about whether we were happy with the food. Our prime rib was ordered as medium rare but they were rare when we got them served. Kyle took them back to get cooked a little more and brought them back to us. He deserves a raise. The food from the salad bar and the cheese bread were not good. They tasted like food you would buy in a plastic container at the supermarket. The interior looks like it needs to be fixed, but the bar area and the scenic view were the best. I would go back there again for drinks but not for the dinner."

  • "I took my boyfriend here for our anniversary and the wait staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food and beverage selection was simple yet had a wide variety of options. When we were done with our meal they brought us a sundae to share with a chocolate that had "happy anniversary" written on. So nice! I can't wait to come back."

  • "It was a quiet night, no but somehow we waited over 45 minutes for our food, which seemed strange because our steaks were medium rare. Also- my lobster was a little charred on the outside. Thankfully it wasn't overcooKed internally"

  • "Good food and service in a rustic, casual setting. Restaurant is on a hill so you do get a beautiful view of Orange County, including the Disneyland fireworks in the distance. The salad bar is extensive and is included in your meal. Nothing fancy here but you do get a good, solid meal and friendly service."

  • "Hello, I've been to OCMC before and it has always gone well. I was there on feb 16th, made reservations for 6:15pm, and we didn't get seat it until 7:05pm, very disappointing. People that walked in without reservations had the same wait time! What's the point of making a reservation? Very sad to say they let me down."

  • "We had a large party next to us who were there when we came in and were still there when we left. They were out of control with loudness and everyone around them had to deal with it. Frustrating how inconsiderate people can be. Other than that the food was great, service was good."

  • "This place has a rustic charm to it. Lots of mining and old western decor. Very themed. Dimly lit for a romantic atmosphere. Get a table near the windows for a great view of Orange. See the sun set and the town light up. All entrees come with endless trips to their soup and salad bar. I enjoyed both. My favorite item though was my filet minion entree. It was perfection. Very flavorful and delicious. Most entrees range from $20-$30. Though if you want just the soup and salad bar only, it was just $16. The desserts sounded wonderful, but I was too full to order any!"

  • "Great view. Loved the food and so much for your money. The salad bar was fresh, the bread was absolutely the best cheese bread ever! So much food! We already booked another reservation."

  • "I don't think much has changed in the decor, which matches the Mining motif - but - it's geting that run-down smell that older restaurants get. It's not supposed to "up scale" but it could be "cleaned up". Our "greeter" had that "why do I have to work tonight" attitude, but our server was great! Very energetic and seemed genuinly glad to see us. My wife and I had the "one pounder" prime rib and it was better than the Five Crowns in Corona del Mar ever served me. The salad bar was "okay", but "hey" it's just a salad bar! All the items I took were fresh and tasty. My wife had their Chili from the soup bar and said it tasted good. I had the split pea and you get better at Anderson's. My bottle of Pinot Noir went very with the prime rib."

  • "This is a long time establishment and went for a Birthday- Overall the food was ok- however the portions were small and the meat quality was not what you would expect Prime Rib and Fillet Minon- I have seen the quality decline over the last several years. This could be a real Gem, dont get me wrong its still ok as the average person may not know the diffrence but it didnt provide a wow effect for where you are- I would give it a 3.5 of 5"

  • "This is a favorite of my steak loving daughter. She loves that it sits on a hill. The steak is better than average but NOT Ruth's Chris or Morton's. Noise level isn't too bad but depending on where you get seated it might be a bit noisy if you're looking for very quiet and romantic. It's generally not so loud that you can't carry on a conversation at your table. The soup and salad bar have a good variety and we LOVE the garlic cheese bread. I would say this is a good place for kids who don't eat only chicken nuggets or mac 'n cheese."

  • "It was my husband's birthday and I was a bit skeptical if he would be satisfied with the food selection that the restaurant offered. My husband eats VERY healthy and he was DELIGHTED to see the delicious salad bar. He was even more excited with the way his server paid attention to his specific needs of no pasta or bread in his meal. After deciding what he wanted, a well cooked lettuce wrap was brought out for him and his eyes lighted up, not to forget the fresh veggies that looked yummy on his plate. We will definitely go back and take my father-in-law soon since he too watches his diet."

  • "This is a wonderful restaurant for dinner...we've been here many times. But it was our fist time for the Sunday Brunch and we weren't disappointed. We've been to many brunches but never one with the quality and variety of this one. And the service matches the food and you can't beat the view. It's no wonder it's variously rated as the best brunch in Orange county."

  • "Good brunch spread, everyone enjoyed the selection and quality. We had 10 people, they could not arrange one table, but we had two booths next to each other. Great value and views."

  • "We have been to ocmc many times for dinner, this was our first brunch for my wifes birthday. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated quickly. The bloody mary, champagne, and food were excellent. Everything was up to par, except the noise created by group of 20+ that overpowered the whole restaurant! They sang happy birthday about 15 minutes after we sat down, so I figured they would leave soon..... no dice. They lingered, got louder, walked amongst their tables, continued to eat and drink! At one point, their table was 90% empty for nearly 20 minutes! They were so loud that my party of 6 could not hear ourselves when it was our turn to sing happy birthday. Next time, I will insist on being reseated away from such a large group."

  • "I have never been and I have read mix reviews about OC Mining Company but I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I think the brunch was good, compare to a few brunches I've been too. I will definitely come back."

  • "Thought it would be a good alternative to Orange Hill Restaurant; The food was excellent, pricing as well. But not to be seated on chairs but on a "couch / bench" style and not in first row at the window (as requested) made us decide not to reserve again"

  • "This way an excellent suggestion by open table. Only here once a year on business, it's great to get spot on suggestions! The salad bar was wonderful, the pitchers of mojitos delicious, the lobster melted in your mouth! I had to send my filet back because it was under cooked, but they brought it back perfect."

  • "I have driven by the OC Mining Co for a number of years and finally made it inside. I made reservations through Open Table for 7:30. We got there a little after 7 specifically to sit in the bar and enjoy the view. Our drinks were wonderful and our server was very attentive. When we moved to the dining room, we were again seated by the window. The food was magnificent, the server was great the the atmosphere was not too loud. I would definately recommend this to friends and out of town guests looking for something fun to do for dinner."

  • "We had reservations for 4 on a busy Saturday night for our son's 24th birthday. I was a little bit concerned that, because of the crowd, the quality of our food would suffer, but it was perfect. I'm not a fan of red meat so I had the sauteed shrimp and scallops which were delicious. We had a window seat on a lovely, clear January evening. I was a little concerned that the two frolicking cottontail bunnies right outside the window might become the coyote's supper, but, alas, they escaped before the coyote made his rounds. I really didn't want to witness the circle of life during dinner! Thank you for another fine meal, O.C. Mining. We especially love the salad bar! We'll be back for my summer birthday!"
