Oran Mor BistroFlawlessAlways a perfect experience at this Nantucket gem. Flawless food service and ambiance guarantee a wonderful evening.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBrilliant and Interesting ....not normally words associated with a restaurant ... but this is a truly wonderful experience. I know we did not discover it, given all the reviews and its Zagat's ratings .. but we will make sure other do. Charming hostess and staff and the owner/chef did everything possible to make our dinner experience very special ... go if you can!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative FoodOran Mor has a small funky space on the second floor of a 19th century building with tables crowded together. The food was very imaginative with a fun presentation. For appetizers we had rolled up pork belly that was very crispy and also a noodle dish with a deep fried coddled egg on top like an Easter egg in a nest. When I cut into the egg, the yolk ran down over the noodles. My entree was stacked swordfish steak with a creamy sauce that set off the fish. The waitress recommended wine that was an excellent pairing with the entree. The creative food and funky atmosphere made a very fun evening.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMwedding anniversaryGReat place to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
Delicious food; good service; fine ambience.
Try the perogies - yum!!!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost perfectAnother great meal. The pasta carbonara was unbelievable. Had the lamb that has been on the menu before - was slightly overlooked and lacked layers of flavor that I had remembered. Might be time to get inspired by a different recipe.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper dining experience! We truly enjoyed our dinner here. Our server, Eric, was helpful with the menu and provided outstanding service. Recommendations include the roasted cauliflower soup, the egg carbonara appetizer, the pork chop entree, the rabbit entree, and the halibut entree. Will definitely come here again!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticFantastic restuarant. Fantastic service. This place is truly wonderful. A true gem.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had a wonderful meal thewe had a wonderful meal the food and the service were fabulous! The lamb is a must try.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food in downtown NantucketOur dining experience was excellent, only marred by a loud table joining our room halfway through our meal. Prior to that, the room was quiet and comfortable although small. Our server was prompt, polite, and professional. The food was exceptional. This is a spot for "foodies" not for the price or quantity conscious. We started with the ceviche special, followed by the golden beet and greens salad, entrees of diver sea scallops and Peking duck, and desserts of ginger ice cream and blood orange/grapefruit sorbet. I thought all of the food was exceptional...properly prepared, nice blend of flavors and textures, beautiful presentation. We also had a half bottle of French rose that went perfectly with both of our meals. Great dining!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food in a great space.Amazing food in a great space. A gem that stands out, in an area with many good choices.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy Oran Mor.We always enjoy Oran Mor. Brought friends for their first visit. Our first impression and theirs was very disappointing. The hostess not once smiled or welcomed us in any way. I understand if a place is packed and staff is under pressure. This was not the case. Once seated our waitress saved the evening. She was welcoming and helpful. All of us were pleased with our selections. We will return but the hopefully the hostess will be happy to see us the next time!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOran Mor was perfect! On Nantucket for a reunion of old colleagues, I choose Oran Mor for our 'last' dinner based on the raves of a friend. We all loved it - from the ambience, to the food, to the server we had - everyone commented to me afterward and thanked me for the choice. I think I liked this sweet place better than any other dinner we've ever had on Nantucket! I only wish it were on Cape Ann!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest part of our tripThis was our first time to Nantucket so we had to choose a restaurant through internet reviews. Oran Mor was highly rated and we liked the variety on the menu. We weren't disappointed. We had quail and duck. The portions were reasonable size, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The sommelier recommended a French wine that was terrific. We had their homemade rhubarb sorbet and hazelnut ice cream for dessert. The restaurant has a number of small rooms and we happened to be seated with no one next to us. On the other side of the room, tables for two were more crowded together so where you happen to be seated could make a difference in the experience. For us it was perfect.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were excellent. A definite stop for dinner anytime we are in Nantucket.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional in every way2 couples enjoyed every dish from fabulous fresh oysters on the half shell to crab cakes, rib eye beef, lamb chps and duck !
