The best Mexican I've had in the
NYC area, without having to trek into Manhattan. The service was fantastic, & the food so much more sophisticated than the usual burritos & standard refried beans. The pineapple pork taco was truly sublime! We were seated immediately, service was attentive, & the atmosphere was fun & festive without being loud & annoying. Hoping to return very soon!"

The bar crowd seemed to dominate
the space. The location of the crowded bar made it difficult to exit the restaurant after our meal."

My wife and I have been to Orale
several times since it opened up last year. We love the food, but our only complaint was that you didn't get very much for your money (i.e. - some of the entrees came with "beans or rice", really?!). But now with their new menu there's really nothing left to complain about! The food is great and now the portions are very generous. You can also get a pretty strong margerita there for not too much green. Great date place!"

Relly enjoyed the experience -
very flavorful - The blue demon guac was to die for."

Good selection of mexican
classics. Corn tortillas are good, so the rest is butter. Great place to satify your mex craving in Jersey city"

Came for brunch with a good size
group (7 people) and had a blast. Most of us partook in the 2 hour open bar for $20, and I will say that service slowed down near the 1.5 hour make. However, when we mentioned this to our waiter, he quickly got us another round and apologized. The food was great, and the atmosphere was fun. Large table made it easier to play board games while we ate and drank."
Dined on 1/5/2014
Not too expensive and everything
from the trio-guacomole to the tacos were amazing. Also, drinks are on the cheaper end and food came out very quick. Will 100% be going back again. Great for big groups too!"
Dined on 1/4/2014
This place is a true gem! Great
food, excellent service, and so close to the Path. Came here with coworkers and ran into friends and ended up making a night of it. Margaritas were strong and perfectly frozen and the guacamole trio was so good we almost licked the bowl! A bit pricey for drinks but a great experience over all!"
Dined on 12/23/2013
A great addition to the Jersey
City dining scene! Awesome guacamole and Margaritas! I recommend sitting in the back room for a quieter and nicer atmosphere."
Dined on 12/7/2013
Excellent Margherita's and
delicious Mexican food. Menu is succint and the server was well versed in the best choices!"
Dined on 11/22/2013
We were a few minutes late for our
10:30 reservation but the hostess sat us at a great table immediately. The place has a great, young, energy vibe. Our margaritas were served in tall thin glasses, which threw me off because I like to lick the salt off a big rim! But they were garnished with fresh fruit, which was nice. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Don't look for tons of rice and cheese in these meals; the proportions are much more like authentic dishes you would be served in Mexico. Loved the exposed brick everywhere and the young hip wait staff! We'll be back!"

Very good food, good service and
great vibe. Too bad we discovered right before we're leaving Jersey City. I've already recommended it to a few other people."
Dined on 11/9/2013
Our waiter Stephen was awesome.
Food is amazing. I will keep coming back."
Dined on 11/9/2013
We went for my husband's birthday.
I made sure to mention it when I made my reservation, and I made sure to say something to the waiter. The food, as usual, was very good. But there was no 'Happy Birthday' or anything for him, and we had people from out of the country with us to celebrate. It was a let down."
Dined on 11/2/2013
We are foodies/wines and new to
Jersey City...knocking off recommended restaurants one at a time...this is by far the best and our service from Angel was top notch....enjoy!"
Dined on 10/19/2013
I love, love, love this place. The
food is outstanding. I had a fabulous dinner here for my birthday."
Dined on 10/23/2013
Not what I expected at all, but
what a great surprise! The menu was packed with traditional and unfamiliar items (which I loved). The plantains and quac were awesome, but I MUST give respect and love to the creator of the BEST Cheese N Mac (not Mac-N-Cheese) it had the most insane amount of cheese that I've EVER had! If you're a lover of this dish, you will be blown away for sure! The "frozen" drink of the day was REAL strong but its supposed to be, burr... On a Friday night it was a bit LOUD the crowd is mixed with younger un-trendy people as well as the neighbor regulars, no need to dress up. I will be back during a less busy time, however the service was still on point. Oh and the brownie dessert was YUMM!"

We order the Tres Tacos, Beef and
Pork. Both were very tasty. We ordered the spicy guacamole and that was great too. Also, the Queso in a pan, that was good. I thought it was too salty but my girlfriend thought it was great. We tried some marguaritas and they were mixed well. Strong but not too strong. We had Avion tequila so it was smooth strong. Then we had the flan, because it was my girlfriends birthday and they celebrated it with flan, a sombrero and a free t-shirt, who knew. AWESOME!!!! We've been there before but we will go back more often now. Thanks Orale."
Dined on 10/5/2013
The food was delicious as were the
house margaritas! Service was attentive & helpful & prices reasonable. Glad to have this in our neighborhood!"
Dined on 9/28/2013
We were disappointed! We were not
expecting the high level of noise suited for a bar,but thought it was to be a restaurant. We left after 5 mins because it was clear we could not hear each other in our group."
Dined on 9/14/2013
Went here for dinner with my
girlfriends & was not overly impressed with the food. It was good but nothing spectacular. I would recommend this place for drinks & apps only - not worth it for dinner. On the more expensive side but the quality is not there."
Dined on 9/12/2013
Very pleased with the food and
atmosphere of Orale. The interior is really cool as well-colorful yet not too bright. Food was great and was a cross between authentic Mexican and NY-style restaurant. We had a steak sandwich, burrito, oysters, salsa Rojas, and side of Brussels sprouts--everything was fresh and delicious. We had takeout from Orale once before and it was fine but this is the type of food you want to enjoy in the restaurant. They have a lot of tequilas but nothing memorable. We will definitely go back."
Dined on 8/23/2013
The food was so good that we had
to go back for brunch two days later, even though we have a list of 15+ restaurants we want to try in our new neighborhood."
Dined on 8/24/2013
Food is good and fresh. Maduros
are addictive! Service is friendly and attentive without being obsequious. Been here several times and will keep coming back."
Dined on 8/5/2013
My friend and i eat here atleast
once a week. Especially Love the margaritas and guacamole. Never had a bad dish here, but especially love the Dinosaurius dish. Reasonably priced and service is always great"
Dined on 8/4/2013
Steven our server was great. This
was our 1st visit. We had happy hour margaritas( all sour mix though), we will try the regular ones instead. Food was good- Shrimp empanadas and ceviche were yummy, Queso Camionero( barely any chorizo needs work) . I had the Short rib entree with a side of tortillas( yummy). The ambiance had that Williamsburg feel, very unique and fun for JC. Front door girls were very nice as well. Steven recommended brunch and we are on our way today( we appreciate the suggestion from him. Overall was a nice experience and we will be back to try different dishes. Looking forward to it."

My third visit to Orale and it's
just as good each time. The food is filling (don't let the portion sizes fool you) although a little pricier than what you might expect. But you're paying for good food and excellent service from some very attentive staff so keep that in mind."
Dined on 7/28/2013
Great upscale taqueria food. If
you want a fun night out with friends, this is the place to go. The food is delicious and so are the drinks! If you are just wanting a quick bite or food to go, this is a little pricey for what you get. The bites are delicious, but too few!"
Dined on 7/28/2013
We went to Ocala for the first
time this week. Service was excellent . Some items on the menu were unusual and the server did a great job answering our questions. We shared three guacamoles ,shrimp ceviche and empanadas for apts. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted great. For dinner we had a few different tacos and one person had the short ribs(suggested by server).everything was interesting and delicious. The only negative thing I would say is the food came out very fast, the dinner course came out while we were still eating apts. we were finished in 45 minutes. Will definitely recommend and return. Loved it!!"

Okay, so I've been here four times
now. And I have YET to have an entre. Whether its with one person or a group, I always seem to get stuck in the appetizers, guacamole and Tacqueros part of the menu. And by the time I'm ready to move to the main courses, I'M STUFFED. So, my game plan for the next time (and I guarantee you there will be a next time) is to start with the entre and work my way backwards!! So, food is great. Authentic Mexican (you'll not find a burrito on the menu) - great flavors and extra authentic heat if you want it. No way you can get out of this place without having a good time. The only issue was that the music was on the loud side, but they graciously turned it downed when we asked. The tunes were jamming!!! LOL"

This was our first dining
experience at Orale and we had a fantastic time. The ambience was very city-ish, which we enjoyed. We were at the restaurant on a Sat evening during the time the DJ was there and his varied choice of music was excellent. We also ordered several of the small plate options and loved everything. In addition, our server added greatly to our dining experience. I highly recommend your restaurant and am looking forward to dining at Orale again."

Mexican cuisine with a Modern
twist! The food is outstanding! You must try one of the ceviches and the guacamole trio. Drinks were exotic and plentiful and the service was top notch! Atmosphere is fun and vibrant. Great location 1/2 block away from the Path. It bring a little bit of "the City" to Jersey City."
Dined on 6/1/2013
Everything at this restaurant was
amazing, very attentive service from our waiter Eric and the food had incredible flavor. Will most definately go back!"
Dined on 5/26/2013
Excellent service, very good food
and a lively energetic scene. Nice addition to the neighborhood."

Those who feel Orale lacks
'authenticity' should relax. Few American palates are ready for the authenticity of spleen, uterus and eyeball tacos. For what it is trying to accomplish, Orale delivers. It has a vibrant bar-scene, offers an extensive tequila menu , has an airy, hip design and decor and an eager and helpful wait-staff. Had my little ones in tow and the restaurant accomodated us with 2 high-chairs; and allowed us to park our stroller behind the reception area. The duck empenadas, ceviche, trio of guacamoles, fish tacos, beef tacos and brownies at the end; were all very tasty. A tad pricey for mexican food, but a fine time was had by all and the total experience was worthwhile. Downtown JC gains another very nice establishment."
Dined on 5/10/2013
Orale is a great addition to the
JC restaurant scene. It has a fun, lively atmosphere and everyone is very nice. The owner even stopped by our table to say hello! Our favorites were the guacamole, tacos (especially fish) and brussel sprouts. We will definitely come back for a fun night out and to try more things on the menu!"
Dined on 5/11/2013
I was impressed by Orale. I was a
bit concerned about the limited menu, being that my husband and I have dietary restrictions, but we were not left unsatisfied. The vegetarian enchilada is something that I will crave for a long time! The drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We'll definitely be back."
Dined on 5/11/2013
Best mexican in a long time.
Creative the food is both creative and especially good."
