One PicoGreatOne of the best, food was great, bread was esp. Good.
Service was great, only thing, valet parking
was a bit pricy.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good but not outstandingi had filet mignon which was good, but in all honesty not as flavorful as i had hoped.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOne Pico is a great placeOne Pico is a great place to take people for special occasions or a casual lunch. You really can't beat the ambiance. The decor is great and the big windows make you feel like you're actually on the beach. I truly feel like I've left LA everytime I eat at One Pico. The service was very good.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne Pico is a wonderful treat! One Pico is a wonderful treat for a special occasion or an intimate meal with a friend or loved one. I really enjoyed my lunch as I took in the gorgeous view of Santa Monica beach and the Pacific ocean! A lovely time was had by all!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA Day /far Away by the SeaONe Pico is a constant surprise food-wise. The level of quality is very high. It isn'tgimmicky or cute. Honest elegant food and of course, with windows that look out to the beach and ocean. The ;service is friendly, not imperious. Northing is pushed on you. The food is superb, carefully prepared and not gimmicky. Thankfully, no Kale fetishes.
Special occasion, I need a treat, just relaxing for a moment, or Let's do something for ourselves for a change. Any of these fit One Pico.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come each year for ourWe come each year for our anniversary! Beautiful restaurant, with stunning view. Food is pretty good and service is as well.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfection!I go to One Pico for the the flawless service; the delicious food; and simply elegant interior decor (that doesn't try to compete with the Pacific Ocean right outside the window). Happiness on this visit, as always!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a shotThe waiter was patient, professional, efficient, knowledgeable and pretty darn handsome. He took gracious care of our disparate group of aging renegades and old friends with alacrity; there when needed, absent when not. The atmosphere is comfortable, with a great view of the Pacific and the Pier. Great; as our purpose was to show east coasters what a Real Beach looks like. We won.
The food was okay, with a tendency to have been overcooked... Though imagination has been well-applied to the appetizers and salads, and the mushroom side is fantastic; the only real success in the mail course was the scallops, which were heavenly...
I'd go back, most certainly, and probably order more carefully...certainly worth a second shot.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI especially enjoyed the JazzI especially enjoyed the Jazz trio that played in the lobby. Nice to hear really good music. Not just a bunch of noise like you hear in many restaurants, but good tasty jazz.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was wonderful,Our server was wonderful, but the hostess (long brown haired girl) was quite cold which made me worried when we first entered. She barely responded and was on the verge of being rude do to her lack of personality or care. This is why my overall rating is just very good. Tim our server was an absolute pleasure!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FOOD and WAIT STAFF!First off the food was excellent. The waiter nice and engaging, but not overly at the table. I was there celebrating my birthday with my fiance, and the waiter made all the difference. I'm not big on birthdays but my fiance is, and he made it a special night for her (which is all that matters). If she's happy I'm happy. The view of the ocean and the pier was nice as well as the ambiance in the restaurant. The fireplace kept the place warm and added a cozy feel to the place too. I would definitely recommend it giving this place a shot.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentI booked online and asked for a table by the window. The booking was extremely easy and I received an e-mail of confirmation, which was reaffirming. We arrived and the service was very friendly and welcoming. As I had requested, they granted our table by the window where we had a beautiful view to the Santa Monica Pier. The food and wine pairing was very good. The ambiance was relaxed and our server gave us space however he was still very attentive to our needs. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA lovely location with beautifulA lovely location with beautiful ocean views and excellent food and service!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad Easter Brunch there.Had Easter Brunch there. I was a little worried that my first outing at such a great restaurant was going to be marred by it being a holiday brunch--I was, happily, very wrong. They were able to accommodate adding an extra person and then unadding that extra person, the service was extremely pleasant, the room is quite large (the pictures make it seem smaller) but the noise level was very adequate. We sat in a corner which allowed us to enjoy a really terrific view of the ocean. The food was exquisite. I had a lamb steak with a tomato polenta followed by a lemon bar that actually tasted lemony and not some yellowy buttery thing. Really quite a beautiful day and experience. One note to consider, I believe they're only open for lunch.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic laid-back beach eleganceOne Pico has long been a classic high-end very nice place to eat. On our recent visit, for brunch on Saturday, it held up to our high expectations. Service helpful in addressing a special need, if maybe a little too removed during the meal itself. Food very good, imaginative and tasty but not over-the-top. Why there is NO gluten-free pasta offered I have no idea, as it should be easy enough to pull off. But the location, next to yet slightly above the beach, is ideal. Everything was comfortable, including the fact that the noise level, even when the restaurant was full, did not make conversation impossible. To me this alone is worth the rather high price one pays to dine at One Pico. But then there are all sorts of other reasons.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOceanside luxury and comfort.I love soft seats, beauty, comfort and quiet. Good food and service as well of course. This has it all. The service was wonderful. The waiters were intelligent, friendly, likable, very agreeable and accommodating, and not intrusive. It has a huge limestone fireplace that has the look of an old country castle in France. The sand and sea are right outside the huge windows. It's everything I want without being at all stuffy or old. It is fresh open and light.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service are excellent,The food and service are excellent, and the view of the beach from the dining is enchanting.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMCouples dinnerBeautiful restaurant, will come back but its not a good place for little kids.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOne Pico Deserves Top RatingThis was our first time dining at One Pico and I must say it will not be our last. After stopping for a few days in in LA on our return vacation from Australia and New Zealand we spent our last night in Los Angeles dining at this outstanding restaurant. Our food was superbly prepared and the service was excellent. We were seated at an ocean front table with an incredibly beautiful view of the the beach and the sunset, as requested. I had the swordfish which was expertly seasoned, moist and perfectly grilled. My wife had the lamb shank and was pleased with the results. All in all it was truly a great dining experience.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place never ceases toThis place never ceases to impress. even through a marine layered sky, the views were beautiful and the staff delightful. Everyone is so friendly and seemingly happy to work there that it makes dining a true pleasure. Food was excellent: sea bass and prime rib were fabulous.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOpen Table booking is okay,Open Table booking is okay, but I still ended up having to make numerous long distance phone calls and repeated tries to get two tables, knowing the were available. We were travelling with teenagers, needing two tables. Open Table won't take a reservation over 6 people, making it difficult to book an adult table of 4 and a teen table of 5. I'm sure we aren't the only large family, so cap it at two tables if needed. I'm assuming you would suggest we get an additional open table acount to do the bookings but with hotels charging $10 for internet connection we would be $20 into booking the lunch or dinner may as well spend the $ on long distance call. Eliminating Open Table.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a nice time at OneWe had a nice time at One Pico. We were a party of six and some of us liked our food better than others. That said, the service was outstanding and the room itself is tastefully breathtaking.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM248 [4/5] CauliflowerSoup*,Cappella248 [4/5] CauliflowerSoup*,Cappellacci,AhiTuna,DiversScallops*,MushroomRagout*,BrusselsSprouts*,RoastedBeets*,WalnutMeringue*,ChocoCustard*(,2GlGraffigna,Yalumba)3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMO...M...G!!! Our table by the window (with the Pacific Ocean just outside); the top notch service; the delectable meal (champagne, organic spaghetti with crab and chillis, seared sea scallops on faro, molten lava cake, and meyer lemon/marscapone cheesecake with blueberry compote)... it all made for a magnificent celebration.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMYou get what you pay for--wonderfulYou get what you pay for--wonderful food in a wonderful setting, but appropriately pricey.1/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciouss dining and attentiveDeliciouss dining and attentive service at this pretty beach-side venue.12/4/2012 12:00:00 AM
