Diner Reviews
  • "When you go to One Midtown Kitchen you know you will have a good experience. From Luke calling you with a nice voice to confirm your reservation to Bob welcoming you and trying to give you the best available table, to the waiters always nice and attentive, and the food which is outstanding. First class all around. The appetizers are all great - always have a hard time deciding which one to pick and sometimes I just have several of them as my main course. This time, we had the kale salad followed by the red snapper which was absolutely delicious. We can't wait to be back!"

  • "Had 7:30 reservation and restaurant not too crouded. Appertisers came out quickly but we and seems like everyone around us had long wait for main course. On arriving both my wife and I's dinners were cold and had to be sent back. Management did, however, address the problem and offered us complimentary wine and desserts. Overall food once properly served was very good, others in our party agreed. Main problem I see is that my wife and I were celebrating our weddin anniversary. She has bad kee and back problems and the long wait for our food was trying for her give her physical condition. Dinner didn't live up to expectations despite the very good food, generally good service but poor kitchen management."

  • "The service was horrible, arrived at 7:30 and left at 10:00 pm. Food was ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. The noise level was so high you could not speak to the person next to you. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant for anyone that wants to have a decent conversation with the people they are going with."

  • "I've been to Two Urban Licks (One's big sister) and loved it, so wanted to try this place. I went on a Saturday night and it was awesome. We started with the calamari and for dinner had the scallops and flounder. Everything we had was delish. We also both had cocktails which were great. The ambiance is really cool and our server (Emma) was great. The location is nice, too. There's a great view of the park and skyline. In fact, it was a nice night so we walked over to the park after dinner. I highly recommend this place. It's a little pricey (for me) but great for a special occasion or date. I can't really think of anything I didn't like about this place...other than the unmarked bathrooms! I'll definitely return."

  • "We moved to the neighborhood last year and kept forgetting to go by and give this place another try. Walking distance from our house--seemed perfect. Finally remembered to go by--what a disaster. We had two appetizers that were both terrible. Way over salted deviled eggs and a salmon tartar that was fishy. We ordered a salad and a pizza (thought those were safe choices) then immediately shut the meal down. The salad was underdressed and smothered in cheese. The pizza was incredibly spicy, which we happen to like, but I doubt would appeal to many others. The proportions at this restaurant are way off. Someone in the back has a heavy hand. It's a shame. We really wanted to like it but will most likely not return absent a natural disaster."

  • "One Midtown was once one of my favorite spots due to the ambience and the great small plate selections. The menu has been totally revamped, which I'm sure is due to a new executive chef. There are much better values in the $30 dollar range for a meal. I should have known by the lackluster crowd on a Friday night that something had changed. Cool looking spot but everything is overpriced! The food was ok not exceptional for the money."

  • "we had another wonderful meal at OneMidtown. The bartender was friendly and made some lovely cocktails while waiting for our party. They always know how to deliver on food and service. The brussel spouts are my favorite and the cheese toast was an expected treat. The steak Frites never disappoint. I was surprised when one of my dining companions ordered a hamburger but it was the best looking burger I've seen in Atlanta. She raved about it. One day, I will order the bottomless wine selection...another day."

  • "The food was very good. Waitstaff was perfectly attentive. Window seating which overlooks a natural meadow area is nice. Interior lets you know you are in the city but looking out on the meadow makes you think twice."

  • "Made a reservation for a party of 10 without having any first hand knowledge of the place - we went to TWO last time we were in town and loved it, so thought we'd give this sister-restaurant a try. SO glad we did! From the way we were greeted when we came through the door, to the funky atmosphere, our fabulous waiter...and the food! Everything was spot-on! Fun, Funky, Fresh - we will return!"

  • "Even a person with a very discriminating palette could find something on this menu to please. The service was great, and food was outstanding from bread to appetizers, main course and dessert. Valet parking is easy. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Everything was great about this restaurant! I've tried many of Atlanta's great spots and this place is right up there. You have to try the grilled octopus small plate!"

  • "One Midtown is always a fun place and the food is good. Atmosphere is pretty with big windows overlooking meadow like setting. A bit edgy, but not too weird! The calamari is perhaps the best I've had anywhere and I've tried it everywhere! There is a back room off of the bar with windows that open in nice weather. The wine list and the menu is good, and the prices are reasonable. I went to One Midtown when it was new and the hot spot. It is still worth going there. I take out of town guests, because of I'm pretty sure it will be a good experience. Nice to see that they've stayed on top of the important things - food, service, ambiance."

  • "I don't get to come to One Midtown Kitchen often but when I do, it is always delicious. We had dinner at One but ran out of time for dessert since the show was starting soon at the Fox Theater. The good news is that we returned after the show for dessert and more cocktails. The Kit Kat bar dessert was AWESOME, if you love chocolate :)"

  • "The restaurant feels elegant and trendy. The service was impeccable from the front door throughout dinner. The drinks and appetizers were terrific - the main courses were pretty good but a bit mediocre on flavor. The seared scallop dish came with 3 medium-sized scallops. If you're going to serve that as an entree for $28, it better be over the top. Overall a beautiful place for a night out or special occasion - very special."

  • "Pros: ambiance, beautiful view for seats at back room, excellent choice of wines, amazing sorbet dessert. , super friendly hostess Cons: service. I get better service at IHOP. Waiter was very rude in tone and attitude. Food wasn't anything speci but then again we couldn't get what we really wanted to order because they ran out of the ribeye and the waiter didn't gives recommendations since he didn't stay at our table to give us servicd for more than one minute The universally unisex restrooms were pretty gross."

  • "Enjoyed a nice dinner with my partner this weekend. Salads and entrees were reasonably priced for a restaurant of this type. The portions were also a normal size. I didn't feel like I needed to eat a huge entree or worry about taking it home. It was perfect. The noise level was very spirited and buzzing but in a good way...just a biz of people enjoying a night out. Will definitely be back."

  • "My husband and I went there for our first Wedding Anniversary, we had a great time the food was excellent, My husband doesn't usually like calamari but he loved the sweet and spicy calamari. The host remembered our name upon leaving and asked how our experience was and wished us a happy anniversary. It was an enjoyable evening with a beautiful view!"

  • "Normally excellent food; tried something different (seafood pasta) which was mostly pasta and not very flavorful. Everything else was top notch. It was my decision to try this and though I was disappointed greatly this once, every other time has been superb. We'll certainly be back until we discover this was the beginning of a trend. Bartender 'nailed' a new wine for me and service was excellent. Not being from ATL, this is normally one of our mainstays when we travel there...."

  • "Our 3rd visit was no less than the first two. Excellent service from a warm greeting in the door to being seated promptly with reservation, to perfect table service. Unfortunately they ran out of an entree we wanted, but we were there at high time so no worries there. Great wine list with great value, 3 tier $7.50, $10 and $12 wines plus many bottles to choose from. A $10 California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were great, and wood grilled salmon and seared scallops were very good, perfectly done and seasoned. Had a great view of Midtown. Although always busy and a tad noisy it is a great place. Dining in their outdoor area is wonderful too. Nothing but great things to say about this place. Go if you haven't already!"

  • "My husband and I went with friends to celebrate being set up on a blind date here seven years ago. The staff was amazing (as always) and helped to mark our special occasion and make it even more special! We had a great time, the food was amazing! They have great gluten-free options (as well as South Beach Diet friendly meals) - we especially love the gluten free chocolate cake! I highly recommend going to celebrate a special occasion or that its Tuesday night (or any other night of the week)"

  • "The exterior of the restaurant is hideous. This isn't a big deal, but the exterior looks like it's trying hard to be an ultra modern trendy place (which usually disappoint with food). But once inside its warm and cool without looking too desperate. Loved the interior. Everything we had was great. Just moved from Washington DC and this is the first place we've been to i'd put on the same level as some of our favorites back in DC. The only food critique is that the lobster sauce in the scallops completely masks them. Short rib was amazing!"

  • "The first time we went to this restaurant the food was amazing and the service was terrific. There was not one suggestion we could have made to improve anything! The second time we went the experience was very different. Service was slow and our hanger steak was tough and chewy. The fries were oversalted and the food was mediocre. We were disappointed the second time. We will try this restaurant again because of our first experience, but it will be a while before we go back."
