Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent wine list. Brilliant idea to tier it and then offer half glass, full glass or bottomless glass option. The dishes are always amazing and the goat cheese toast was Avery exciting and welcome newcomer to the menu. However this occasion it seemed to take a concerning amount of time to prepare the food. It was the longest wait between ordering and delivery I have ever experienced and the temperature of the food at serving did hint it may have been sitting some time. It was not a busy night. There were maybe a total of four or five tables. This is the only time I have ever had an issue out of the 5 times I have eaten there."

  • "ONE Midtown is my number one (no pun intended) pick to go to for any special occasion, and even just for that one time when I feel like treating myself and my someone special. Some of their menu items are quite a bit over-priced (their current watermelon salad includes about eight pieces of watermelon for somewhere around $9), but their entrée prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food that you receive. I was slightly disappointed when I saw the salad, to an extent where it almost put me off to the restaurant, but ONE has quite a few redeeming qualities that made up for that one poor pricing decision. Their staff and their service are also top-notch. I will be back."

  • "We had yet another great dining experience at One Midtown. We had the perfect table overlooking the park and the city (the second room is usually quieter), the perfect waiter -Bernie- and the absolute perfect meal. The goad cheese toast is just out of this world, I always, always have that and it seems to get better every time. We then have the chicken that was juicy, tender, perfect and we close with the lemon pudding, which was incredible -- lemon, strawberries, almond ice cream and hazelnuts. - A festival of flavors in your palate. Chef Nick Oltarsh always delivers."

  • "This is a gorgeous restaurant with very skilled wait staff. It's dark and trendy then part of the dining room overlooks the park and is bright, full of windows. Interesting wine list with price tiers and ability to get a half glass to try different ones. Bread was great and served with a great carrot dip! Love that they change the menu every day. Lima bean hummus and spicy shrimp appetizer was my favorite. I never order dessert but had to get the kit kat dessert to go and it was delicious."

  • "My husband and I went here on my birthday. We had always wanted to try to the restaurant, but for whatever reason went somewhere else instead. I'm disappointed that we didn't come here sooner. We were really missing out. Our server was super attentive. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. I would say the only negative to the whole night was where we sat which was in one of those long booths nestled in between 2 other tables that are really close (the kind where you feel like you are sharing tables). I'm not a fan of that. Otherwise, it was a perfect night. totally recommend and will definitely be back."

  • "Food was very good. Very disappointed in our waiter. We where celebrating the birthdays of my wife and our oldest son, both born on the same day. We where greeted by the host as we entered and he offered his congrats, but our waiter never even mentioned it. He should have know or been told of this special occasion. He was not engaging at all and was basically a food and beverage runner. Even though I tipped 20%, I was very reluctant to do tip at that level. My overall experience was certainly negatively impacted by what I consider one of the keys to fine dinning, your waiter."

  • "Love the food at one midtown. It is my other must go to when visiting atlanta. The carrot puree with the awesome bread was great. I ordered the chicken which was delicious. My friend ordered the scallops and raved. She savored every bite. The desert was amazing. (Cant remember what it was called). You cant go wrong choosing any of them. Our server was helpful and very nice. It was great to hear sure no problem when we wanted to alter the dish a little. We sat at the counter and were entertained watching the hard working chefs."

  • "This was our 3rd or 4th time to go to One Midtown Kitchen and it seems to get better each time. I'm not sure how they keep improving on great! Food was awesome. I tried the Goat Cheese Toast appetizer and I absolutely loved it. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made the dining experience even better. We'll be back again."

  • "The location was quite unexpected. It has the appearance of once being a warehouse but we were told it was formerly the home of an architect. The staff was wonderful and enjoyed the food."

  • "I always enjoy dinner at ONE. My wife and I have come here for several special occasions and for normal date nights. The food is excellent and so is the service. As for ambience, this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I highly recommend it."

  • "I brought my gf here for her birthday. The host was friendly and made us feel really welcomed. My gf was immediately impressed by the atmosphere and our waitress was just as friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. We had calamari to start off and it did not dissapoint; large size pieces of calimari covered with a light flour mixture: just the way I like it. My gf had the swordfish and the wine recommended by our waittress. Gf said her recommendation was "spot on" because she really enjoyed it. I had the steak frites and made the mistake of ordering it medium well. I should have said just medium. We received a complimentary blueberry cheesecake with an almond cookie which was delicious!"

  • "Had dinner on a Thursday night, quiet but romantic, sat by the window . Unfortunately the Ac was dropping water from above, we just switched seats. Loved the carrot blend they served with the bread. My margaherita pizza was good, nothing great. My fiancé had the burger and loved it, the Parmesan fries were great! We started off with the grilled artichokes , not bad just not a lot to eat off of them."

  • "4 of us has a great dinner at MidCity Kitchen, hadn't eaten there in a while. the food and service was excellent. But much like a lot of cool restaurants in ATL there are a lot of hard surfaces so its a little loud. but not too much for the four of us to talk."

  • "Great chef! Very good food with unique flavors. Loved the carrot puree for bread as an appetizer - would love to know how to make that! Loved the spicy shrimp appetizer too - a hummus with spicy shrimp. Entrees were very good - but perhaps not as exciting as the appetizers."

  • "Brunch menu was limited. Server's level of attentiveness diminished as soon as I informed her we would only be drinking water with our meal. I had heard great things about Midtown Kitchen but found the food mediocre. The ambience of the restaurant was superb, the view of the park wonderful, the valet person very nice and courteous as well as the hostess, but the food was not in par with the reputation or prices. Hopefully, it was just an off day. I would try the restaurant again if the opportunity presented itself, but at this time I would not recommend the restaurant to another person."

  • "Food was great (eggs came out a little cold) and the service was spot on for a very busy day. We were seated right away. My only complaint was not the restaurants fault and that was people bringing children under 5 to brunch. I appreciate wanting to go out to a nice place for Mothers Day brunch but take them someplace where they are better suited. i had my 14 and 11 year old children and they were pretty appalled at the number of 2, 3, 4 year old kids running around making noise and screaming. Think of the other diners for a change."

  • "Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at One Midtown Kitchen. Our servers were friendly and prompt. We had a selection of small plates to go with our cocktails and they arrived quickly and were each delicious. We tried the fried okra, the spicy shrimp, the hummus, and the grilled goat cheese which was especially fabulous. The problem arose with dinner. The kitchen was overwhelmed with large groups and we waited an inordinate time for our entrees. The management did comp part of the meal in apology which was appropriate. Once they arrived, all the meals were excellent. We tried the scallops, duck, pork tenderloin and the quail. We would heartily recommend or order any of them again. "

  • "Chose this place for the menu and its late hours, since GA Tech graduation was that evening. Graduation was longer than expected. I called and they were able to push our reservation back for us and were very happy to see us, welcoming us even though it was 40 minutes from closing. The food & service were excellent, but the music a bit loud for conversation, and we were practically the only diners at that time. Still, I would recommend it and would eat there again if I were again in Atlanta."

  • "We went here for my fiance's birthday on a Friday night. We were a little late, but they got us right in. I told them in the "notes" section of opentable that it was my fiance's birthday. From the moment we got there, EVERYONE was saying happy birthday to him and remembered. The service was great! The food was amazing and our server was very helpful in helping us pick out food. The cocktails were yummy and creative. The ambience was great! We sat outside because it was the first perfect night after a long winter and was a great experience; however, next time I would definitely love to sit inside as the vibe is so romantic/trendy. A little on the expensive side but definitely worth the money. I will definitely be going back. "

  • "Although a bit noisy due to the music, the meals and "small plates" were more than excellent and not much was left on any plate. Very reasonable too. "

  • "My husband and I went here based on recommendations from co-workers. The ambiance was nice. This is a good place for groups. It was a bit loud, but not so loud you can't hear your date. Food was good (loved the devil eggs and calamari for appetizers). If you are a hungry grown man I would avoid the quail. My husband was still hungry, but overall we enjoyed ourselves. We'll probably return to this restaurant."

  • "Everything was good, except our server. She was forcing us to do things that we didn't want to do. She even got a little snappy when someone asked for their check. She was horrible, but the overall restaurant was good."
