We had been to One Market before and selected it again for the Dine About promotion. It is a lovely restaurant and our food was excellent. My only negative comment about our food was the onion rings. The weren't very crispy.
Our server was terrific, she explained menu items, opened and kept our wine chilled and glasses refilled often. When we mentioned that it was a birthday lunch, she brought a complimentary beautiful dessert with a candle.

We were surprised to see such a large restaurant which must seat several hundred people.
Our dining selection was the 6 course chef selection with matching wines. We were attended to by several different wait staff and admired the co-ordination that went into this. The food was excellent and the wine pairing sensational. The noise level was not loud enough to be off-putting for such a large number of patrons.
We rate this venue a 9/10 and would have given a 10/10 except for one thing. On one dish there was a baby leak which was inedible. Why put something like this on a plate. Had the Asparagas Salad, Bacon Wrapped Pork tenderloin and Duo of Brulee. I would have been ok with the Asparagas Salad and bread...but then they brought the BACON WRAPPED PORK TENDERLON. OMG - It was so tender and moist, I could only eat one piece before I was full. So I ordered desert of course! I got the Duo of Brulee and coffee.
Peter's B-day dinner started with the Tasmanian Ocean Trout, got the Veal for the daily roast menu and a side of Creamy Mashed Potatoes and finished with the Butterscotch Pudding. We shared bits of each other's meal and as I said, well worth the visit!

Properly greeted, no wait, (none of the "we have your table, but it'll be a moment while we set it up for you"). Our waiter and his team, outstanding. great knowledge of every item on the menu, which was very helpful in deciding on what to order. The food, absolutely Devine. The pork tenderloin absolutely melted in your mouth I'd never had it so good. The dessert, again Devine. Never really tried peanut butter ice cream, Wow, very tasty. So like I said everything was very impressive, definitely would return. It is a hub of transit for city named electric trains, BART, Muni and the ferry terminal. The restaurant can always be counted on for excellent food service and ambience. I often try new dishes to test the uniform excellence of the kitchen. This time it was the wild sturgeon.
I usually pound dowb the beef, because this is a real specialty for them. But they did a wonderful job with the fish. My son is addicted to the pork loin.

We were very impressed with the food, ambience and service at One Market. Our server Miki was very attentive and made sure our every request was catered for. We were after a particular style of wine and when she wasn't 100% sure herself she made an enquiry to the restaurant's sommelier and found a perfectly suited wine for us. The Dungeness Crab salad was the most delicious salad I've ever had - just so fresh and so many complex, delicate flavours. A staff member from One Market called me the day before the reservation to confirm--I mentioned that the lunch was for my wife's birthday. He asked me her name, which I provided.
When we arrived and I announced my name, the hostess immediately wished my wife a happy birthday. This greeting was repeated by staff members throughout our meal.
Our waitress recommended an appetizer - smoked sea salmon with egg, which was excellent. Our fava bean risotto and grilled mahi-mahi, were also very good. We finished with dessert--chocolate toffee crunch cake and pineapple upside-down cake. The chickpea fries are a regular favourite for a side dish and I can never stop eating them. Service was very good as usual, but they do take their time with bringing the cheque.
