A word from One Dock At The Kennebunkport Inn
One Dock offers creative, contemporary New England cuisine and traditional Maine favorites in a casual, relaxed setting overlooking the Kennebunk River. Recognizing that Maine is home to some of the world’s best produce, seafood, and meats, our Executive Chef Phil Reid starts with the freshest local and regional ingredients to create his menu. Offering a mix of classic Maine cuisine like baked haddock and steamed lobster, plus an array of newer dishes that start with classic Maine fare then “amp” up the flavors with Asian- and Spanish-inspired spices and accompaniments, our menu has something for everyone.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The Dinner menu was extremely limited. If you don't like Salmon or chicken you were out of luck.price wAs not worth it."

  • "We were there last year and came back again this year. The formula has changed and the entres are like "tapas". Same fantastic creativity. Nothing here is predictible. This chef is an artist. The herb flanc on a bed of mushroom was simply brillant. Bravo! See you next year"

  • "Every time we come to Kennebunkport, we have to go to One Dock and it never disappoints - the fish tacos we had were out of this world and the staff is always so pleasant. Highly recommend."

  • "We visited their outdoor deck for an afternoon snack and found the service and atmosphere to be one of the best in area. We later dined at the indoor dining room. Our server, Stephani, was absolutely fabulous. in addition to a few main entire items, the menu offers a number of small plate options that are perfect to sharing. The food was excellent. We will look forward to our next visit!"

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner here on Saturday night. At first when you realize they only have a few entrees it's a bit jarring but if you love to share smaller plates (similar to tapas) this is definitely the place to go! Our server was so sweet and answered all our menu questions and the food came out in a timely manner. We chose to share the brussel sprouts (amazing!), the seared sea scallops, the fish tacos, and the grilled chorizo. All of these were really tasty and we had just enough room for dessert. No issues with our reservation either with Open Table - We arrived a little early and they escorted us right to our seat. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for those looking for something different in Kennebunkport!"

  • "One Dock used to be one of my favorite places in Kennebunkport. I was quite disappointed to see only 5 entree choices on this years menu. The rest is side dishes and small plates. The chefs vision is for people to order several small plates and share. OK for some, but make it known because that's not what I was expecting. I ordered the Lazy Lobster and it was the only lobster I was served in Kennebunkport that was improperly cooked, stringy and uncuttable. My mother ordered the steak which she liked very much. All in all a disappointment, especially compared to previous years."

  • "I have been several times and the food has always been amazing and the staff has been very knowledgeable and outstanding. A first class establishment is my opinion."

  • "Our only reason for going to this restaurant/inn was for Flash Allen, a fantastic entertainer. The food is ok, but not worth the effort without Flash. He was told after years of entertaining, with a huge following his services are no longer needed and at a time when other places already had their summer entertainers. I am not the only one who would go to this place just for Flash, locals and tourists. There is no reason now for us to go to Kennebunkport, I can just go to Ogunquit and have a better beach atmosphere since Flash has been replaced. This will in some small way probably hurt local ecoonomy too. The food here is ok, not what you would expect from coastal maine, but can't say it's good, it's just ok with the changes you made"

  • "My wife and I had high hopes, but was let down. Appetizers were OK, crabcake was soaked in a sauce, rather than just drizzled. My wife's casesar salad was subpar. Both of our dinners were nearly inedible. Chef has a HEAVY salt hand. I like my garlic and salt, but my steak frites were so salty and garlicy that I couldn't even eat them. Steak was not done the traditional way, cut in slices and fanned out, just one thick steak that was fatty and again, very salty. My wife's scallop dish was salty and sandy, hard to get down. We skipped dessert. Manager took my meal off, because I barely ate. My wife's, we paid for. Went to Ben and Jerry's had ice cream for dinner!"

  • "excellent food, great service. It was like being with old friends. Maine dining with a touch of Cajun rolled in"

  • "Both my chicken and my husband's steak were overly salty, neither of us finished our entrée, but brought it home with the expectation that a good rinse will reduce the salt taste. Also, I requested a "birthday dessert" surprise for my husband's birthday when I made the reservation through Open Table, which was not delivered to the table with our after dinner coffee. Why was it stated that we would get no points for this dinner, disappointing as it was? "

  • "Your staff was amazing, your food selection was perfect, your garlic knots delicious, the drinks, the entire meal was just what we were looking for. Awesome time."

  • "Small dinning room so a noisy group can be disruptive. Food was good but limited since off season. Service good."

  • "Kennebunk port is known as a Summer destination but, this WInter dinning trip proved its a ear round delight. We dined on a late Sunday afternoon. We were the first to arrive but, the dinning room quickly filled with locals feasting on the Sunday night special. It seamed that the interior of the Inn had just received a facelift and redecorating that was beautiful. The menu choices were just the right amount and very creative. I wished that I had more room to eat more! A must try. We will be back and soon!"

  • "One Dock had good drinks and food. The Bar area was cozy and the seating was extremely comfortable for bar stools. The food was great and the staff was friendly. Great place to put on the agenda for your trip to Kennebunport."

  • "We came up from Boston to get together with some friends from Augusta. This was a perfect location to meet for a drink and quiet conversation by the fire followed with a wonderful dinner. It happen to be restaurant week at this location and it being Sunday they also happen to have an "all you can eat" prime rib dinner that was superb. We plan to come again to Kennebunkport to continue to have this spot as our "meeting "location"."

  • "We chose Dock One for a day after Valentine's dinner. Since heavy snow was predicted, the dining room was not filled. We drove down from the Portland area and were shown to a table facing the fireplace. Service was relaxed and friendly, nicely matched to our personality that evening! We shared a plate of superb oysters and a bowl of the lobster mac and cheese. The oysters were some of the best we've had - no sure of where they came from because we forgot to ask. The salads were excellent - an iceberg wedge and the special. Main courses were steak frites and the special venison, which was melt in your mouth tender. Small complaint was that there were not more main course choices, but that this a minor issue."

  • "We were at One Dock for dinner on Valentine's Day. Everything we had was delicious. The mussels in a blue cheese wine sauce were spectacular and the entrees, duck breast and seared scallops, were equally wonderful. The service was friendly and helpful. A terrific night all around, highly recommended."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at One Dock and overall, the food was good but not spectacular. I had the duck breast, which was tender and cooked to perfection, but the side that came with it, ramen noodles, seemed like cheap filler. That was disappointing. My husband had the scallops, which were large but bland, although the roasted corn that came with it was a tasty side dish. The service was good and the ambience is nice."

  • "Lobster pasta dish was not described correctly on the menu. The sauce was described as a saffron crème sauce but tasted like lemon which I do not care for and would not have ordered had it been described properly. I waited 25mins with no beverage. No effort was made to make our experience more pleasurable. I will not return to One Dock I do not feel they care about their reputation or guests satisfaction. Better downtown restaurants including Hurricanes, Opus 10, and On the Marsh with outstanding service and delicious food I would have been more descriptive in my review however, I was not provided adequate characters to do so."

  • "Great experience! Saffron fettuccini with lobster was worth the buildup! I'd also recommend the Kennbunkport Inn Old Fashioned. My wife and I were in town during an off-peak period, so we basically had the dining room to ourselves. Very cool decor and very friendly staff."

  • "Located in a hotel. During Kennebunkport Restaurant Week. When you are asking the locals for the Restaurant forget it. No one knew it. The hotel they know. Food and service were good. The ambience was terrific. Piano playing in the bar. Heard but not seen. My problem, this was another very good meal in a week where food was very good or outstanding. The question becomes which Bordeaux did you like better Lafayette or Mouton. Small and cozy. Wonderful food. Outstanding atmosphere. If you are not from the area, hard to find. Well worth the hunt"

  • "Every year we get together for a couples dinner. We just can not say enough how excellent our dining experience. The wine list was superb. (try the wine sampler in reds or white) the lobster bisque was amazing. You will not be disappointed. We will be returning in the summer to enjoy the outside dining. Thank you One Dock for a very memorable evening."

  • "We went to the inn bot knowing what to expect and came away with a terrific experience. It was an extremely quiet night, following a busy weekend, and it was superb."

  • "Our salads were limp and over dressed. The scallop entrees were dry and rubbery and had so much sriracha and salt such that you could not taste the other ingredients. My daughters chicken was pink and bloody near the bone. The chocolate bread pudding was like a brick of some overly dense chocolate loaf, nothing like a pudding. The room was very load to the point we almost had to yell to each other at our table"

  • "Upscale dining with beautiful renovated dining and sitting areas. Crab cakes were outstanding and grilled chicken was served and remained hot through the center...delicious!"

  • "My wife and I were very pleased with our experience at One Dock. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was well prepared and the drinks menu included a nice variety. We enjoyed a drink for two served in an antique teapot and tea cups. This attention to detail made it a memorable anniversary dinner. The live music in the bar made it an extra special night."

  • "Food was okay. Seemed to specialize in small plates, which many people seemed to order. I ordered the Farm to Table salad, which was good but small. For $10, I was expecting a bigger salad. My main entree was the short ribs, which were good except extremely fatty. It came with two ribs, but I only ate one. The other one was ALL fat--what kind of restaurant serves it that way? For dessert, we split the cheesecake, but while this was good, it wasn't a typical cheesecake (where was the cheese?). Oh, and by the time the dessert came, I was finished with my coffee. Overall, it was disappointing."

  • "Went for dinner with my wife and enjoyed the food and the decor. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and the noise levels were low to modest. My only complaint was the size of the table which was very narrow. As the table was set next to a wall it made things feel cramped."

  • "My wife and I went here 2 years ago for a romantic dinner and the food, ambiance and service was great. But our visit for a nice dinner the other night was not the same. We were seated at a small table for 2 at the end of a larger table with a party of 8 and we were almost bumping elbows with them. And the table was right outside the kitchen so it was very noisy. So much for a romantic dinner! Our Buffalo Chicken Spring Roll appetizer was chewy, dark meat chicken, no buffalo sauce at all so we sent it back. Chewy Rib Eye steak was covered in diced garlic butter, only tasted of garlic. Lobster Fettuccine was good but too much sauce. Overpriced for the quality of food and service. Not going back."

  • "Went for early (5:30) dinner during Restaurant Week. Had scrumptious 3 course meal of chopped salad, lazy lobster, and lemon cheesecake for $45. All were delicious as was the complimentary amuse-bouche and soft warm dinner rolls. Seated at very comfortable table near fireplace and waitress was very pleasant. We all left very satisfied."

  • "Gordan Ramsay liked it, we liked it too. Lobster cakes were very impressive and refreshingly different, as was the gin and juice cocktail/teapot. Best meal we had in the Kennebunkport area."

  • "We dine at One Dock a few times a year and they always knock it out of the park (go Red Sox). Comfortable chairs in a welcoming room, attentive service, and wonderful food - from the amusement to dessert it was outstanding. As I say each time we leave, we will be back."
    Dined on 9/24/2013
  • "My wife's steak was over-cooked as was my hamburger. Waitress was forgetful, sloppy and incompetent. Delivered food and drinks to the wrong person all night. What was a fine restaurant as little as two years ago has gone seriously downhill."
    Dined on 9/24/2013
  • "My husband & I both had the fettuccine with lobster. The pasta was so over cooked it was mush! The amount of cream sauce on the dish made it look more like a soup. Now you would think any Maine restaurant should be able to at least cook lobster well... Not this one! It was rubbery & hard. The service was slow & uninterested. Go elsewhere, it's not even close to worth it!"
