On The Marsh BistroElegant Dining in KennebunkportWe have been to this restaurant three times and have always enjoyed it. It is an upscale place with a great atmosphere. The menu is very nice in that it offers both conventional entrees and a section where you can select your fish, steak, or lamb and then select your sides - very flexible and it was what all of us chose to do.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply Delightful - a MUST visitI cannot say enough good about this gem! it was my birthday celebration and everything was perfect. The setting is so quaint and our table overlooked the marsh with a small sailer and twinkle lights All overlooking beautifully maintained English style gardens.
The host sent us a celebratory glass of champagne and Pat the server was attentive but not overly so. I had lamb chops, a special that night and my fiance had scallops. Both meals were cooked to perfection and one of the best we have had...and we eat out alot!
You pick two sides so I went for the parmesan, garlic potatoe sticks and fiddlesticks. My desert "the Irish" bomb

Making the reservation with open table was easy. I did have to change the reservation to another day and could not complete it online through open table. I had to call and change the reservation. When we arrived we did not have a reservation in their book. We new John who did remember seeing a change in reservation a couple of days ago so we got right in. I had asked for a special request through open table for my wife's birthday. Nothing came of it. Other than that it was great. The food, service & ambiance was top notch. The restaurant was very quiet allowing us to have an unrushed, quiet dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Patrick was our waiter (and bartender), and his service was outstanding and friendly. Since it was not busy, we had a few enjoyable conversations with him but not to the point where our dinner was interrupted. I had an iceberg wedge for an appetizer and my wife had tomato soup. Both were very good and a great way to start our dining. For main courses, my wife had beef tenderloin and I had a shrimp & lobster combination. Both meals was excellent and nicely presented. The first time we remarked that it may have been the best dining experience we'd ever had. The second time was even better. By the third time, the family was looking forward to it and talking about it every day for the couple of weeks leading up to it, and it lived up to the hype again. By now it has become a family tradition to have our "best meal of the year" at this establishment. The food and flavor is so good that going here is an experience. I would be surprised if none of my 3 teens decide to get married here, such is the institution that On The Marsh has become to our family.
