we've been to om bistro several times and the food has been excellent each and every time. We love the complimentary hummus and bread. Pear salad is delicious. my husband and i each had the salmon wellington which was excellent. Our friends had the cod and scallops and they enjoyed that as well. In the past I've had the roasted cauliflower and pesto pasta which I will have to come back for another time! We didn't have room for dessert. I'd highly recommend OM Bistro.

We had heard about OM Bistro and are so glad we finally gave it a try. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The servers were both attentive and accommodating. We had some special requests and nothing was the slightest problem. There were three of us dining and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We live walking distance to the restaurant and will definitely go back!

A friend recommend OM Bistro to me when I mentioned we we're looking for some place new to eat It was an excellent dining experience it may seem out of the way if you are coming from South Shore ... However it is worth the trip The chef sings opera so he will take a break to help you celebrate a special occasion The prices were very reasonable We had lamb shank and stuffed chicken breast which were excellent I can still taste the mushroom appetizer in that it was that good We will return

The food was delicious - interesting and well prepared - and the service was good. The only complaint is the room itself, which is dated, nondescript and has the feel of a dining room in a diner - not attractive or conducive to a good vibe. Why would you want your place to look like a cafeteria when you're serving high end food?

The food was very good and so was the presentation. The service was terrible, we had to keep asking for water or the waiter. The tip was added to the bill with any notification. No where does it say that and we were only 5. Luckily we picked it up before splitting the bill. This would be a good place for a book club.

The lamb dumplings were delicious as always - just as I recalled from my first visit a few months ago. While I didn't get the Foie Gras this time (they were out of it), I'll be back to try it next time. Special of the evening was Rack of Lamb, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend the lamb anytime - any lamb dish. Portions were generous as always and all the complimentary veggies and sauces to match. Mango cheesecake was delicious and I'm usually not a cheesecake fan.

My title says it. The food was good - we had fish & pasta, and also started with a mushroom tart. All very well prepared and good tasting. But the service was excruciatingly slow. The wait staff was pleasant enough, but way too slow. Not worth going back.

Main course was really good. We had Long Island Duck, Lamb, and Cod. All were very well prepared. I was not hapy with the Mango cheese cake. The Mango topping and sauce was very good but the cheese cake did not have any flavor. The raspberry tart was a big hit.

Service terrible, food not worth trying. Waiter, claiming to have worked at a country club, opened a bottle of wine and poured glasses full, without having customer first try the wine. Food overcooked. When asking for the manager the waiter stated he was the acting manager and did not consider anything wrong. Subsequently the bar tender came over and stated that the waiter was not the acting manager by a long shot, agreed with our comments but all he had to say was he was sorry. This establishment has no place in Great Neck.

Shrimp appetizer and salads were excellent, except most of the latter seem to come with frisee. Don't recall if a choice of another green was offered. Lamb shank was divine but lamb chops drowning in sweet fig reduction were much too sweet. Not quite an "American" bistro. Tastes seemed more Meditarranean/Persian. Dessert menu, as opposed to appetizer and dinner offerings was nothing to write home about.

This is a relatively new restaurant and one I hope lasts a long time. The wait staff is skilled, knowledgeable and friendly in a professional way. The food is fabulous. Hard to decide what to order. The portions are huge. The chef came out to sing to a table celebrating and his operatic voice is as good as any tenor on stage. We had an absolutely lovely evening!!

We had an 8:00PM reservation. We arrived on time and were not seated until 9:40PM. I had heard that the lamb shank was very good, but they had none left when I ordered it. The noise level was very bad. They need some help with acousitcs. The food was disappointing. We ordered a caesar salad for two to start and the waitress brought one plate. When I asked that it be separated into two plates, she brought me a fork and small plate so I could do it myself.

The comfited leg could have neen crisped but the breast was cooked as requested. The smoked trout cakes were smoky and had a wonderful tangy sauce. The pear salad was enormous.

The others in our party of four were more impressed than I. Some of the dishes were very good, others a little strange. The brisket was tasty but cut with the grain and therefore, stringy and hard to chew. I thought the chopped salad was way too salty. The soup, the lamb shank and the cod, drew raves. Totally enjoyed the chef's musical interludes.

Food was very good. The service was friendly, but bordering on incompetent. The fornt of the restaurant did not seem to know what they were doing, they were literally walking around with plates of food going from table to table asking who ordered the dishes. As I say they were friendly and pleasant but badly in need of a professional manager. The food, on the other hand, was very good. Our party had the lamb shank, cod, shrimp and scallops. Everyone thought that the food was delicious. Ambiance could use some work as the space seems empty. Overall - food very good, but until they hire a professional manager not a place to which I would return.

Awesome food. The best lamb shank I ever had. Unfortunately this was offset by our waitress who seemed to be from the local luncheonette/diner and better fit for that type of establishment. She didn't have a clue to the makeup/ingredients of the items on the menu and even had to read the menu to answer a question. She couldn't tell us the names of the wines by the glass and had to refer to the menu to answer other questions. If they update the service to a more professional staff and make the atmosphere warmer then it's a winner.
