  • Too bad they stopped lunch

One of my favorite places for lunch in Midtown but unfortunately they stopped serving lunch. I'll try Article 14 but it can't match the room and light of Olmsted during lunch.

The grilled spiced salmon was particularly enjoyable, well seasoned but not overpowering. Salad with orchid petals also a nice touch. Banana pudding was spot on and of course excellent deviled eggs with candied bacon. Will likely try them for brunch next time.

The brunch menu had great choices and the food was excellent. Deviled eggs with candied bacon set the perfect beginning. Eggs Savannah also was perfectly prepared and presented. Only wekness was service. We had either an rookie waiter or an inattentive one. Hard to find him and his response time was very slow. We will try again because the food was worth a return visit. Parking is an adventure. Very few signs to guide. Valet available but not easy. Also, NO handicapped parking that we could find which made us late for our reservation.

We went to Olmsted to use a brunch deal I had. Everything on the menu sounded great, so I couldn't wait to try the food. There were definitely highlights, but I wasn't too impressed. You can get much better shrimp and grits elsewhere in Atlanta. The rest of the food was delicious, but not special enough to make me crave it a second time. In terms of service, there were some highs and lows. On the good side, they accommodated our request to get non-alcoholic drinks rather than the mimosas/bloody maries that were part of the deal. Everyone was very friendly, too. On the negative side, we didn't get silverware until we asked for it when our food arrived. The best part of the experience was definitely the outdoor sitting in midtown.

The food was quite good and it was a nice atmosphere. Really liked the deviled eggs with candied bacon appetizer! While our server was very nice, he seemed inexperienced and improperly trained. Something as simple as putting a knife and fork on the correct sides, not to mention the bread plate, should be a given. I'm sure we'll return!

  • Great Brunch at 14th and Peachtree

This great brunch experience is notable in a modern architectural setting that is beautiful, placid and insulated from excessive noise and distractions. The food was plentiful, tasty, flavorful, and excellently prepared. The service was professional, attentive and just right. We enjoyed the surroundings so much until we stayed just to walk the area and retain the ambiance. Parking is confusing and signage could improve the walk n traffic, but all in all it was a very good experience. Try the breakfast meat platter. We'll be back!

Substandard. Had "famous fried chicken," crab and shrimp cakes benedict, and the waiter was nice enough to bring a sample of a lobster bisque. Chicken was dry, bland, and fried in old grease given the color of the skin. Sides equally unimpressive. Eggs poached properly but crab and shrimp used in the Benedict were from a can. Soup, promising flavors but overpowered by burnt rue. returned chicken for French toast. French toast was decent. manager or cook never asked reason for returning the #1 dish but did apologize. apology noted but each dish had a quality control check prior to being served so that begs a different question. Open kitchen but line cooks were standing looking around. The wait staff and valet were nice, paid and left.

  • A surprising find...

We were looking for a brunch spot last weekend and the extra OpenTable points led us to Olmsted, a place we never knew existed. Sadly I think it's rather obscure location will hurt business but on the positive side that means I'll great a great table every time I go. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a natural view that few restaurants in Atlanta feature. The food was a bit on the expensive side but it was very good. I had the Georgia Benedict which featured crab and shrimp cakes instead of bacon and a spicy sauce instead of hollandaise. One of the eggs was cooked perfectly while the other was a bit under cooked (runny white). The shrimp and grits had by my fiancee was fantastic. I will going back for sure.

Alex the hostess was excellent. From the time I walked in the door, she made us feel welcome. However, things changed when our server came. We were told that he was also working the bar. This became a bit annoying, and we didn't receive the best service possible. We were constantly looking for him, finally when we received our food and then a second order of French toast because the first order came out 10 minutes before the entree, it was actually very good. I will go back again, because I believe everyone has an off day.

  • A Great Mother's Day
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

Olmsted was a wonderful place to have our Mother's Day brunch. We only had one near mishap with some spilled drinks, but the entire staff was very accommodating and attentive. When your server recommends something? Order it. The deviled eggs and candied bacon (yeah candied bacon) were incredible. We sampled on the fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and the Eggs Savannah. Everything was delicious. Portions are wonderfully large in my opinion, and full of flavor. Plenty to take home and remember the meal again. One big note, my dad doesn't do stairs very well, and the staff personally walked us the to easiest way out of the restaurant to the parking deck. It was just a very considerate move on their part that I appreciate very much.

This is our third visit to the Olmsted for brunch and we were not disappointed. The food was very good as it was the service eventhought it was the first day for our waitress on the floor. The restaurant manager Keisha stayed on top of things to make sure everything was flowing as she had been doing this for a long time. We will definitely go back again and recommended to anyone that was to enjoy a good brunch.

Had brunch on Saturday and while the Chicken salad and the Eggs Olmsted were very good, I would have liked to see a few more choices on the menu. I wouldn't recommend the brunch although I still like it for a good (albeit a little expensive) lunch.

Went for their valentines prixe fixe.... Could not leave fast enough. Service was amateur at best. Seems like they hired temps for the evening. The food was the worst we have had at any restaurant, at any price. Everything was bland, over salted and nearly unedible. For $75 per person it was 10x overpriced the value. Will never return or recommend. Also, I never believe in giving poor reviews but this one is completely earned.

Food and service was fine but the restaurant imposed a mandatory 18% tip for our party of 5. This is not customary in the Atlanta market and I found it a bit annoying that this new restaurant would treat its patrons in this way.
