OlivesLove the foodOur waiter was excellent. We took a while with the menu, he came back periodically to check to see if we were ready, but was not pushy or anything. We were in a booth near the back and was a bit away from the noise. Highly recommend the tuna tatare, crab carbonara and salted caramel ice cream. Entree portions were really generous, duck was excellent. Great place, whether you're dining solo or with a large group.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AM.A great spot for a light.A great spot for a light meal before going to one of the nearby off-Broadway theaters.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTodd: rhymes with GodOlives never disappoints, especially for an early Sunday dinner. The scene is mellow then, the space feels expansive, the service is loving, and the small plates suit the hour. I love the fact that the food is relatively simple but impeccably prepared--I have dreams about the chicken meatballs. This place is fast becoming a regular for us, especially when we have a group large enough to commandeer one of the booths. I'd call it a Union Square gem.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing ExperienceEverything about our experience at Olives was exceptional. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was excellent, and the restaurant had a cool vibe. It is in the W hotel and across the street from the Union Sqare theater so the location is ideal as well. I would definitely go here again.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMthe food was wonderful andthe food was wonderful and beautifully presented. Service was great, but felt as if some of the waitstaff hovered over us to grab our plates as we finished a course. They tried to take plates that we had not quite finished.
I would go back again6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTHANKS!!!The service was great! Will definately come back for brunch and try out dinner soon!!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional hosts but extreme delayThe hosts (Rena and Tonya) were exceptional. They made sure we were taken care of and Rena kept us informed about our food which was oddly delayed even though all we ordered were salads. The time we had to wait for those salads was very disappointing, but once we got them they were incredibly delicious.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the feel of this restaurant.Love the feel of this restaurant. The wait staff were so nice. The Fiddletown Zinfandel was fruit forward, smooth, and superb. The octopus salad an crispy oysters with bee carpaccio were very good, My husband enjoyed his flatbread with chorizo and manchego, I had a phenomenal dish - fish with crispy skin on top of tomato concasse, baby zucchini, and pesto, What an amalgam of flavors! We loved this restaurant.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant has receivedThis restaurant has received spotty reviews in the past. We've eaten here once or twice a year for several years. Closed for a while last year for renovations. Like the new setting. Food was excellent (again!) and service pleasant, attentive without being in your face, and prompt. Worth a visit for sure, especially if staying in the W.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood as excellent. EvictFood as excellent.
Evict was very friendly but very slow and inconsistent.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMgood food, great ambiance, good food, great ambiance, fantastic service and very accommodating. menu is small which I really liked and it included something for everyone. we ordered mostly small plates which without knowing adds up but worth it. bread is great, foccaccia's and chicken meatballs very good.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went there to celebrateWe went there to celebrate my son and husband's birthday. We love the food.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe W Hotel is beautiful,The W Hotel is beautiful, and the restaurant space is warm and lovely. I enjoyed the green market menu: arugula salad was excellent, duck confit was moist and tasty, and chocolate dessert was decadent. Service was attentive (water glasses were always filled) and friendly. Can't wait to go back!12/14/2012 12:00:00 AM
