  • "I've eaten at this restaurant many (many) times, always leaving well satisfied. Sadly, the bouillabaisse was mediocre only - and less than that when the bill came and I realized it was $29. Otherwise, service was attentive without hovering; cocktails were delicious, and the caesar salad yummy! No room for dessert this visit."

  • "Our first visit, but not our last! We dined outside this time but the inside is one of the most beautiful I've seen. Can't wait to go back."

  • "Menu was peared down due to the long weekend. Was taken by surprise....no warning at booking. That being said, food was still delicious."

  • "Food was just O.K. Appetizers were much better than the main course. Location is great for a pre-concert dinner."

  • "I was at the Oliver and Bonacini cafe/restaurant on Saturday night, before going to ACC for a concert. The waiter has informed us that the kitchen was extremely slow, and recommended we order salads, as everything else will take too long to cook, could be close to an hour, he said. An establishment such as Oliver and Bonaccini surely should know how to plan their operations in order to serve their customers on a busy Saturday night, in the heart of downtown, and not send them off hungry, having paid more than $30 for a salad and a mediocre drink. I've been to this and the Bayview Village locations before, and never was I as disappointed with the lack of ambiance and service as this time. It felt like they just wanted to get rid of us."

  • "Over all the experience was great. Food was wonderful, and our waiter was attentive. The only problem I would have to say was that they put us on the patio along Front st which is small and nothing special. I would have loved to be on the other "loungy" side, and thought by making a reservation I would have been."

  • "Group lunch to celebrate a work milestone - everyone was happy with the menu selection. Daily special was a veggie burger, which got rave reviews including from the carnivores! Service was great, especially for a group of 10 - menu explained cheerfully several times, food and drinks arrived in good time."

  • "My wife and I had an amazing time at O&B Café on Front Street Friday night. The patio was quite busy, but inside was nice. My wife tried their sangria and thoroughly enjoyed it and loved her meal. I enjoyed my mean, but did find that one of my pieces of fish on my fish and chips was quite salty. Overall though, my wife and I will definitely be back to this great restaurant in the future."

  • "I'm a loyal O&B Cafe customer. I really like lunch and dinner here. The patio is great. The food and drinks are good. Brunch simply sucks. The eggs are overdone by about 15 minutes each time. The flavours are not balanced at all. The sauces on savory dishes are sugary-sweet. The bacon is underdone. Through several menu changes, the quality has not improved. I've been coming here for years and am really rooting for this place to step up its brunch game but each time I try to give it another chance, I'm disappointed as is everyone else at my table. I'm done trying."

  • "A group of 8 of us went for dinner before a concert at the Sony Centre. We let the waiter know it started at 7:30. Drinks came & ordered the food which started to come in a reasonable time delivered by a number of different wait staff. One of our party had calamari and sweet potato fries. The fries came and he was told the calamari would be along momentarily. He waited & waited. No server could be flagged down & our waiter did not come by to check how we were or respond to waived hands and "excuse me's". He was very busy you could tell but the food never came & we couldn't get help until 7:10 when it was too late and everyone else had long since finished. I know mistakes happen but I was amazed when they charged him for his drink & fries!"

  • "11:00 am Fathers day - - we were seated at a large table next to the stairs leading to the kitchen. as the restaurant became a bit busier ( nothing compared to weekday lunches) the noise level coming out of the kitchen skyrocketed. ALL of the noise was the chef yelling at the waiters to 'pick up' - very unpleasant for my 82/76 yr old parents, my wife and I, and to a lessor extent our teenage boys. we mentioned this to our waiter but nothing changed. the temperature very cool bordering on cold. our waiter was generally attentive even though it was a bit slow (not his fault)"

  • "Everything was fine, but just so. The food was ok, but not what I would expect for the ambiance or prices. The margarita pizza was boring, and the yorkshire pudding unimaginative. The service was good when we got it. Being Father's day, they were badly understaffed and our table kept being served other people's food. Would go back, but not as my first choice."

  • "Despite having a reservation, we had to wait past the time in the bar. Our table wasn't quite ready when we sat, and when we finally got our orders a half hour after ordering, my sister got the wrong order. That was quickly remedied, but the server threw the chef under the bus, which wasn't appreciated by this table in particular, since we were there celebrating my niece's graduation from the Culinary Arts program at George Brown College. Once the dining room emptied out a bit, service was a little more attentive. Scallops in the shrimp and scallop linguine dish were bay scallops. The menu should have specified this. Food was very good, though, overall. We'd go again."

  • "poor layout for restrooms and server station at back . to much traffic going through restaurant from bar to restrooms. lineups for restroom took away from ambience. Great outside bar and street scene!"

  • "We reserved a table for five to coincide with the end of a graduation event at the Sony Centre across the street. We had never eaten at this restaurant and we were hoping for it to be special. We arrive an hour early and we were easily accommodated even though the restaurant was busy. Service was excellent and the food was very good. The only downside I noticed was with one dish -- the Shrimp and Scallop Linguine. Although the dish contained a fair amount of shrimps, I found no scallop in the dish. I didn't bring the matter up with the server as I wanted to keep the event happy, but I think that if you are adverstising scallops in a dish, they should actually be there. Otherwise, we had a nice time to cap off a great convocation ceremony."

  • "I liked the vibe on the nice patio for drinks. It was a great spot to watch people go by. We sat inside for dinner. The service was friendly but very slow. the food and service were good but a little overpriced for the quality/ quantity of food. Wine was well priced. It's a great place for a group or celebration."

  • "The outdoor patio makes it our favorite place to go for Brunch on weekends. It's comfortable and not overcrowded. It goes without saying that the food is delicious. It was not our first time and it won't be the last!"

  • "This was a particularly delightful lunch. The waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. She was very thoughtful to our needs and nominal requests - the type of activities that thus turn O&B into my default choice of restaurant. (Unfortunately today's experience was not as positive). My guest had not attended O&B as frequently as I - and she was also very impressed with both the food and the service. Lynette"

  • "i was there for lunch and it was great, but this time was there for dinner before a show and it was not pleasant. first of all, when we were sitted, the waiter didn't even introduce himself. And he didn't bring any bread until we had to ASK for them!!! the calamari was tasteless but the but the side salad was good. overall, i thought the service was just too terrible to have to for OB. so very disappointed. i would not go back for dinner "

  • "Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. Service was very slow, we were seated right away but our drinks took 20 minutes and a request to another server to arrive. They arrived, but were not correct. 25 minutes in and we still had not been able to order lunch. It was busy and a Friday lunch (1:00) slot, but it was not as busy as I have seen in the past for a Friday. Ordered the gluten free Mac n' Cheese - have had this before and had been dreaming about having it again. It came and was yet another disappointment - unlike previous visits, what arrived appeared to be penne alfredo, though the server insisted it was Mac n' Cheese. It was terrible, watery and pretty tasteless. My colleague's pizza was okay."

  • "A/C was too cold to sit inside so we sat outside Patio is great but make sure you eat when it's light as there's no candles we could barely see the menu then we couldn't see our food. Glasses of wine are way overpriced. Short ribs were bland Salmon with curry was ok at first but then it started to give my friend an upset stomach, didn't eat much of it and she asked the waitress to take it away. When we got our bills the salmon was on her bill!! She then had to call a manager to have it taken off the bill!! We won't be returning. "

  • "The appetizers were good. My seafood linguine was disappointing, I could have made it myself. No parmasean, no pepper, no bread... Our server took our wine order from one lady and disappeared . Only 2 people wanted wine. Her nails were filthy and she appeared dirty. The wine was excellent and the desserts were also mediocre. No one in our group would return."

  • "We recently went to O&B Café for lunch in a group of 8. We were seated at a booth which felt pretty private. It was still a bit loud in the restaurant, but that was expected at lunchtime. The food and the service were very good. The restaurant was very accommodating with respect to food allergies and requests to share food (the kitchen split an appetizer into 4 for us). We would return for future group outings. "

  • "This is a spot to meet with friends and catchup on what has been going on. The services is not rushed and you can talk without having to yell at each other to be heard. The staff is very friendly and knows their menu and wine list. I will definitely be coming back."

  • "Fabulous downtown gem. Food is delicious & service staff are amazing. Servers were friendly, attentive & cheerful. Our server even managed to produce a small carton of chocolate milk for my 4 year old niece even though there are no kid-friendly items on the menu. Before we left our server offered to take a group picture of us. Great momento for my cousin visiting from England."

  • "This was the 3rd or 4th time we have tried O&B and have been disappointed on each visit. Brunch was no exception. Eggs were not hot, and they were overcooked, toast was so hard and dry it was not edible, and the sausages on one plate did not even look like they were cooked(they were pinkish, gray and cool). Service was good and the ambience was good, but we were there to eat and will not return!"
