When he came over with the coffees we ordered, he brought cream instead of milk, despite having repeatedly confirmed milk. He apologized and replaced it. He offered his favourite dishes as recommendations, failing to mention the chef's special until we asked. When he described it, he failed to mention that it was an omelette. I ordered it anyway and was happily surprised by the omelette that arrived. We all have a very enjoyable, relaxing evening as we celebrated. Service was notably good and the food was outstanding; we each had the Sunday Roast, which was perfectly cooked and tender. The wine list is fine - nothing special, but met our needs for a dinner that didn't break the bank. Every morsel of food was finished - most notable were the caesar salads and beef short ribs - oh, and the bread basket had lovely warm, chewy sour dough type bread. Desserts were average, but made in-house, we think. I would definitely recommend getting a booth so you can hear, and enjoy the liveliness around you. We could hear each other, and the cacophony of most restos was dimmed. Food was as expected, and we will return regularly before the theatre. We received our requested patio table, in fact we had a nice quiet one in the corner. (We were one of the first people seated - they open at 11:45am and we were waiting outside at the locked doors!). The food was tasty and quick although my friend's sandwich was bit big for a lunch time portion (although it was so good he ate it all). The waitress was pleasant and seemed efficient (not that we tested her on that). So we were done and paid in an hour which is what we needed. Food was delicious, Service was good and the atmoshere is lively yet not to loud. Only complaint was that the hostess tried to seat us next to a table with 3 small children and when I requested another table that was not so close to a family, she told me (with an irriatiated glance) that the other tables were all reserved. I told her that I had made a reservation and and she reluctantly led us to another table that was wide open in a row of tables that never did fill up for the hour that we were there. Not a great opening to an otherwise lovely dining expereince. All other staff were very pleasant. Added bonus is that the parking in the building is reduced for O&B customers ($2 on Sundays). Since we had dinner quite early, it was perfect for us. Good food, friendly and professional service. I would recommend this restaurant to friends. The place is also very good for groups and gets very busy around 6.30. Reservation recommended. Everything we had was really good, but the veal chop stood out as the winning dish of the evening! We got to sit outside on their patio (which in early May is a treat), and had a great view of all the action at the corner of Yonge and Front.
