Olive and Junea perfect mealWe started with wine on the patio, then had dinner inside - the food (giardinara salad, pasta, a great Barbera) was perfectly prepared and presented, and Graham's service was attentive and efficient. We can't wait to go back!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeWe're fans of parkside already and Olive & June certainly did not disappoint. We ordered all of the piccoli piatti to start off with (the sweet pea was a fave), moved on to the excellent and generous meat & cheese plate and some entrees (the gemelli is awesome). The cocktails are interesting and the whole feel is relaxed and inviting. The outdoor patio looks inviting as well but it was a bit warm for us to venture out there. Not a misstep along the way and truly a great experience.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day SundayService was great! Food was good but we weren't wowed. Very yummy wines and champagne. Fantastic music...all classic r&b, Motown, etc. unexpected but it worked. Best patio dining in Austin, no question. Early evening seating worked for my little ones but a later seating would be just as perfect for a date night.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPrix-fixe nightI always go for prix-fixe night (Sundays only), which always has a fun menu full of exciting and tasty combinations. AND - kids under 12 eat free (even though I don't have kids, I think this is super-awesome that a good-tasting restaurant honors this).5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative ItalianReally enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. As good as our dinner was, the deserts might have been even better. We will definitely be back soon.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLeisurely lovely mealWe got there early at 5:30 and it was a good thing because it was very full when we left and rightfully so...great food with a northern Italian accent served with a smile. We splurged on dessert and really enjoyed the Basil Gelato! While we were there we noticed many couples and just as many groups, all having a lovely time. If you are looking for a unique meal with friendly and fun staff this is the place.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI celebrated my birthday atI celebrated my birthday at Olive and June. I need a reliable place to go that's nice, and I think I've found it!!
The spring risotto was really nice, as was the gemelli.
The fried ravioli came recommended by our server but I wasn't too excited with that.
We shared a dessert, I can't remember what it was called, but it was basically little donuts and it was served with this basil ice cream that was awesome!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWas thrilled to fnd an excellentWas thrilled to fnd an excellent and fine cuisine in the neighbourhood. We were running late for our reservation due to a traffic jam, but the hostess was able to accommodate us. Small parking lot, but they offer complimentary valet parking. They do have both patio and indoor dining (1st floor and 2nd floor). The patio seemed to more for the casual diner (plastic chairs), while the 1st floor dining area was semi-formal (Candles, soft music, nice white colored booths, tables not crammed too close together). Cozy and elegant, nice decor. Our waiter was great, the food was wonderful as well. Our booth was next to the air conditioner and it was making some kind of annoying, humming noise. But it was taken care of quickly. We will recommend and we will return!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful fun food. The staffWonderful fun food. We sat outside on the beautiful patio beneath the towering live oak. Hands down my absolute favorite place to eat outside. Our server was very helpful with recommendations - both appetizers and wine - and we ended up with the perfect amount of food for our party of 10. The food was outstanding, particularly the sunchokes, warm mozzarella and farm egg. Friends at the table raved about the filet and rabbit, and my tilefish was light and delicious. Can't wait to return!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely PlaceBeautiful place. Beautiful food. Lovely wine. Great service. Complimentary valet. A must try if you haven't been!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb ExperienceWent for Restaurant Week to support Meals on Wheels and More. The prix fixe menu was exquisite from the cold pea soup through the salad to the lamb. Wine parings were excellent Italian varietals. Thanks4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit - will returnWent to Olive & June for a girl's night and had a great time. Everything we tried tasted wonderful (farm egg, scallop crudo, whole wheat ravioli, strawberry salad, asparagus salad, citrus torta). The portions were tiny, so it did seem a little pricey for what you received. I recommend this restaurant and will return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, will return. Very unique, very Austin.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful dinnerWe had a wonderful dinner and cocktails here. We lucked in to "restaurant week" and had the prix fixe dinner during the week, which is normally just a Sunday option. It was nice sitting out under the trees and enjoying the weather.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMReviewThe food was amazing. We were next to a really loud, big party which I did not like, but normally the ambience of the restaurant is really good, it would be a great date place. I love the outdoor part of the restaurant too and will request it next time; it is one of the prettiest restaurants in Austin, with wood decks on three different levels and a big tree right outside the restaurant reaching up into the second and third level decks. Even the inside of the restaurant is really open, with glass doors and windows making up two of the walls of the 2nd floor and one wall of the first floor. The dessert was really amazing, and for that reason, for restaurant week, they should give each person their own separate dessert (no sharing).4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress, Ashley, wasOur waitress, Ashley, was fantastic! She made great recomendations, was attentative and just let us talk and have a good time. The food was incredible and priced appropriately. This was my first visit and I will definitely return for more great meals. The cocktails are unique and delicious! Great little appetizers at great prices, too!
Our server, Cameron, at dinner was perfect. He was very friendly, helpful with decisions, and not pushy about ordering more than we needed to.
Overall, a delicious dinner at a beautiful little restaurant!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMJust delightfulThe food was creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Service was attentive, without being smothering. Lovely setting. All in all, an outstanding experience.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Italian in AustinBest fresh Italian food in Austin. Staff very friendly and knowledgable. Definately a hidden gem. Atmosphere fits all occasions. My wife had the rigatoni and I had the steak tartare and pork belly. We also shared artichokes, caper and olive crostini, ravioli and cauliflower. This is definately not your typical Italian. The server also said they buy local which we think awesome for our local farmers. We will be back when we are in town again. We decided to order a number of small plants instead of just one entre a piece. Everything was cooked to perfection and it came to our table in a very timely manner. I would recommend calling ahead and reserving a table on the patio if the weather is nice. Also, they have complimentary valet, so bring cash to tip.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food and service.Very good food and service. We made reservations a few weeks in advance. We got to the restaurant on time and we were seated immediately. We ate in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. The next time we will definitely ask to eat outside. Even in the hot Austin summer, the outside is where I would want to be. The courtyard is anchored by a 300 year old live oak and is lit with little white lights. Even in an unexpected rain, people were eating outside. That being said, our food and service were excellent. Our waitress was Austin cool and laid back. Our meal was delicious and the espresso gelato was the best we had ever had. Can't wait to go back.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a large group for aWe had a large group for a bachlorette and both the service and the food were outstanding!
