A word from Olive & Ivy Restaurant & Marketplace
Dining under the shady trees on Olive and Ivy’s massive patio feels more like Southern France than southern Scottsdale. If you are looking for pomp and circumstance of quiet elegance, try the signature private-dining venue, the Stamp Room. If it’s night-life, we have you covered twice with the outdoor lounge and bar. You’ll enter your own little Mediterranean world the first moment you set foot in Olive & Ivy.

For some, the day simply doesn’t start unless it starts at The Marketplace at Olive & Ivy. Scents of fresh-baked muffins, croissants, and dark rich espresso lure passersby in from the quiet sidewalk. They read the paper. They sip squeezed orange juice. They toast the morning. Help yourself start every day the right way at the Marketplace.

Diner Reviews
  • "We have always done at least one meal at Olive and Ivy whenever visiting Scottsdale over the years and the food is excellent. However we were pretty disappointed with some of their service this time around. Our waitress was really great, but the hostesses were all very rude. We checked in for our reservation and they told us they would seat us in just a moment. 15 minutes later we were still standing there and they had seated several walk ins. Once we reminded them for the second time we finally were sat. We both shared some bruschetta which was very yummy and had some salads. For dessert we did the chai and bourbon cocktail which I am still dreaming about. I highly recommend it!"

  • "We ate here with 3 young kids while on vacation. The outdoor ambiance is fantastic. Location is easy to get to with $6 valet parking. Our server was a gem. Knowledgeable and friendly. Food came out fast. No children's menu but plenty of items not listed and they made pasta dishes special for my kids. They also have great specialty cocktails. We really enjoyed our experience here and highly recommend it."

  • "We were visiting from Las Vegas and left wishing Olive & Ivy was in our area. The character and creativity would be much appreciated. The food was wonderful, no complaints at all and the ambience was perfect."

  • "We have eaten at Olive and Ivy twice. Both times have been excellent. The service is impeccable! The suggestions made by the waiter for excellent. The food was very, very good...though not unusual. I highly suggest this restaurant to anyone that likes a vibrant scene at a reasonable cost."

  • "Everyone treated us very kindly and gave us a good amount of attention. The restaurant itself is very nice and scenic. I ordered the chicken scallopini which was good but could've used a bit more seasoning. I will definitely be dining there again."

  • "1. Our waitress was courteous, sociable and very helpful in recommending dishes. 2. The food was awesome! 3. If the weather is nice, sit on the patio if possible. The view of the canal at night is fabulous. 4. The food was awesome! 5. This is a good place for a date or just a night out with your friends. 6. Make a reservation, as this is a popular spot. 7. If you didn't pick up on it, the food was awesome! ;) Hope this helps."

  • "We celebrated a friends birthday here and had a wonderful time. The side windows were rolled open so we had the seating of both indoors and outdoors. So nice. Once again the experience was outstanding. The bruschetta board was mouth watering. The wines were delicious and diverse with a nice selection for each persons taste. The best dessert was the lemon tres leche cake with blueberries! A must try! It was a perfect balance of sweet & tart with the lightest cake. It presented almost like a pallet cleanser. Even f you think you don't have room for dessert, with this one you do!! We had a terrific time."

  • "Food was outstanding. Service was excellent, knowledgeable. Noise level way too loud. Acoustics aren't good."

  • "We were seated quickly after arriving for our 6pm reservation. it is a beautiful setting and our hopes were high. Unfortunately our waiter seemed preoccupied and condescending. The appetizers and salads arrived promptly and all four of us liked the flatbread and Prosciutto. The entrees then took so long to come out that the manager came over to apologize. The filet was cooked to order and good as well as the chicken scallopini. The Mediterranean salad was nothing special. All things considered, we'd have second thoughts on returning here."

  • "The was good, service was very good, however the food took over one hour to arrive, the waiter continued to suggest more wine while we waited for our food, our server stated when thay are this busy it normally takes a long time. It was a Saturday night however just a normal busy night ..."

  • "Everything about this place was outstanding. Food was delicious, service was great and best part was atmosphere was happening. Outside dining was perfect, but inside looked just as fun too. Would recommend for anyone wanting a fun girls night, date night, etc."

  • "My family and I had gone to a graduation party to your restaurant. It was not the time to truly appreciate the quality restaurant that Olive and Ivy really is. We had a friend over and he was vegetarian and we eat everything so my son chose your restaurant. We are so glad he did because we had a great time, its a beautiful restaurant, well situated, and the food is wonderful. We will definitely be coming back in the future."

  • "I had heard that Olive and Ivy was a "good" restaurant. After finally trying it, I would say it's my new favorite place! The sweet potato cannelloni was the right amount of rich and sweet. I also had a half order of the beet salad, which was light and savory. To top off everything, I ordered the tres leches lemon cake. It was a mildly lemon, incredibly dense cake, that I couldn't finish. The ambience was beautiful, service was perfect- and people watching was hilarious. The Scottsdale crowd never changes. I will be back as much as I can."

  • "Made a reso on open table. Arrived on time and we're seated immediately. Very cool, trendy vibe, slightly upscale, but also one of those places if you showed up in shorts you would be okay too. Food is good, appies were good size, entree was scallops and was on small size for the price point. Over all good experience. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. They serve you a house made bread and pesto which was very tasty."

  • "The waiter we had was an exception to the usual there. He had an "excuse" for everything that went wrong. We have been there on other occasions and had a great waitperson!!"

  • "The restaurant is beautiful especially where we were seated near the open patio. The DJ was a bit out of place and loud at 7pm on a Friday but had good mixes and beats that were fun to listen too. Our server was amazing, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. It was reasonably busy yet service was on top of things. Loved my meal, while nothing incredibly extraordinary on their menu, the food was good, cooked properly, and had a great flavor. I would recommend this place as a good dinner before other plans place."

  • "The food was inconsistent. The bruschetta was excellent as were the stuffed dates. The salads were overdressed and a bit oily. My husband had a very dry chicken entree but we enjoyed the flatbread very much. Our server was very pleasant but the service was very slow. The prices were reasonable and we are willing to give it another try. The patio was great."

  • "Olive and Ivy's was recommended to us and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambience. We sat outside under the trees which were lit with strings of lights which made it very cozy. Loved it! We would definitely go back when we visit Phoenix again."

  • "On a week long trip to Phoenix, we ate at several recommended locations and this restaurant was the best. Worth the wait (we had reservations and still had to wait another 20 minutes to be seated.) The only sad note to the meal, besides a sorbet, there was no gluten free dessert on the menu."
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "My main complaint is that they were not able to accommodate our request for a patio table. It is just too noisy inside to have a conversation, and although I realize that some people like that energy we need a more quite setting as the patio would have offered. Our appetizers and dessert were terrific! The entrees were ok. If we come back we will do so only if we know we will be on the patio and we will stick to appetizers & small plates, and will avoid the entrees."

  • "This is my fave restaurant in Scottsdale! We entertain many guests, from in the area and out of town and I am always sure to get great service and fantastic food/wine/beer at Olive and Ivey. We all ordered different appetizers and entre's and they were excellent. The large sized salads are quite big, so sharing them, or 1/2 sized for appetizers is a good option."

  • "What a lovely setting. Who knew there was waterfront dining here? Very tasty food and cocktails too. We went there 2 times in 5 days. Sooo good!"

  • "Vacationed in North Scottsdale but wanted to get a feel for Old Town Scottsdale. From the first moment I walked into Olive and Ivy we were greeted by smiling and helpful hostesses. Upon sitting our waiter was excellent and knowledgable about the food and the area. The food was delicious and I would recommend giving this place a shot."

  • "This is a huge restaurant that cranks through a lot of customers. It is noisy but a happening place. I'd like to be an owner because I'm sure that they make a lot of money given the volume they must do. However, the service can be slow and the wait to be seated can be long, although on this visit we were seated quickly. Our server was personable but relatively inexperienced, as he made a number of mistakes during our visit. The food quality is very high. One steak dish was especially memorable."

  • "had a lovely lunch at Olive & Ivy's during our recent trip to Scottsdale. My daughter and I were sharing a sandwich and salad and I loved that they brought both items to the table already split on their own plates! We enjoyed it so much that we returned a few days later for the take out service. The sandwiches and salads were delicious, as was the peanut butter pudding and ice cream sandwich!"
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "When previewing the restaurant on-line, it looked like a good restaurant to dine at. Food: fish dinners prepared very well; Wine selection excellent; service very good. The only distraction was the noise level throughout the restaurant, which was exceedingly loud due to high level music. Peoples' conversations, therefore, needed to be loud. Even dining outdoors, noise from the restaurant and "people traffic" was high. This restaurant has an enormous bar section. We found this restaurant not family friendly or for those who want a leisurely dining experience. It has more for a young adult, singles atmosphere. While we would give Olive and Ivy a "7" out of "10" rating, we would not return."

  • "My daughter & I really loved this little gem we stumbled across. Much more vibrant & trendy than the typical Scottsdale eatery. LOVED the outdoor patio along the waterway, and casual, fun vibe of the place! Great fresh menu- very Gluten Free friendly. We will be back!"
