  • "I believe we were blessed with the waiter that was previously reviewed as speaking to fast. This individual did indeed speak swiftly but was very easy to understand and his personality was a delight around the table. The menu selection was not overdone and maintained the Mediterranean theme which was the reason we had chosen to dine here. The selections were authentic and inspired. The dining area is open but well-appointed with fixtures and features to soften the noise of surrounding tables and allows for an evening of quiet conversation without seclusion. Overall Olio is a gem of a find and is a great change from the chain steak houses that populate the Dixon Road area."

  • "Our group found our waiter to be very impatient and at times, rude. waiter was very impatient, and at times, rude. The restaurant had a low occupancy yet he was in clearly in a rush with us when he spoke. We had an elderly woman in our group ask what kind of white wine they had. He listed types of wine so quickly that she needed to ask him to repeat. He went thru it again, at the same fast pace, this time 'arm gestures' suggesting we were too slow in understanding him ending with 'what do you want?!'. When it came to the soup of the day, again he said the ingredients so quickly none of us understood. We all needed him to repeat as it was said too quick & his accent was thick. He sharply repeated with an obvious sound and look of annoyance."

  • "The server took an hour to take our order (it was not busy when we arrived). There were two other servers working who were very attentive. We had to flag ours down, she never offered refilled the pop only the liquor. Water was never replenished unless asked, On two occassion tried to take an unfinished plate away, the individual had to move her plate across the table each time. The food was mostly bland and store bought. The appetizers were boring, Vegitarian option was bland with no flavour and advertised cheese was non-existent. Their steak was cooked perfectly and the dish itself was great. Dessert was an apple blossum which was store bought so it was okay. The chocolate tart was delicious. Overall dissapointing experience for us!"

  • "Had a wonderful time for lunch for Winterliscious 2014. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were exquisite. Definitely recommend others to give this place a try. I'll be planning another lunch and dinner in the near future in this wonderful restaurant."

  • "The tables at the restaurant were well spaced, not crowded together. The electric fireplace added ambiance to the place. There were 6 of us and we were not crowded at our table. Everyone enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Our winterlicious menu did not disappoint. We all agreed that the paella was very tasty with lots of seafood, including jumbo shrimps. The serving size was very generous. The steak was also very good."

  • "Seating was fast, server came right away.. Ordered our food and drink. Once our bread and iced tea were empty no one came around again to check. Had to ask twice. I ordered the steak and it was fatty not really very good. Once meal was finished I went to pay by debit and they dont take it, instead they ask you to use an ATM that they make money on. Winterlicious is sponsored by InterAc so its rather sad. Would not go back again Also when we arrived another couple ahead wanted a table but was told it was busy and to come back in 30 mins. We checked online and tables were available in 15. They should have checked instead of sending them away. Poor service again and lazy"

  • "In a city and area where bad service wont last this place was at a loss. We walked in and were not greeted, (well the bartender said sit where you like) and they had no record of the reservation. There was one bartender and one waitress for 30 tables but there were only 5 tables. The menu looked fine but I doubt that it was any good. So we left"

  • "The food and service were good; the location was ideal for our dinner. Super easy to find on the hotel strip outside Pearson Insternational (YYZ) it was just off Hwy 27. The weather was dismal, so the restaurant was almost empty, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service was attentive enough that we never had to look for anything, but left us to our reunion for the 3 hours we were there. Great meetup spot."

  • "It was Christmas Day, so to be fair, perhaps the restaurant was understaffed. But, after moving to the Sheraton courtesy of the Toronto Ice Storm 2013, I was extremely disappointed that I couldn't have a real Christmas meal! I expected much more from a Sheraton hotel."

  • "We chose Olio because of the positive reviews we read here. In fact 4.5 stars made us think we wouldn't find a table. But we went on a Sunday evening the last day of Summerlicious and those two things may have made the difference. The food was good. Some dishes were above family restaurant fare but not by much. Olio gets 3 stars from us ."

  • "I went here twice for summerlicious. Ordered oysters (very fresh), steaks (crispy and still juicy, as I ate my steaks medium well so I was super glad it wasn't dried up like cardboard as other restaurant, my hubby had medium rare steaks and liked them both times) dessert was better the second round. Since I ordered the exact same dishes both time I found out that they didn't cook my waffle the first time. It was gross the first time how was cold and doughy straight out of some frozen package. But the second time it was warm and fluffy like how it should be. So watch out."

  • "We took a chance on a hotel restaurant near the airport and were delightfully surprised! We thought it would be quiet, being a Saturday night and we suspect this place caters to business travellers/ conference goers specifically, and it was. The food was excellent, the service as well and we were so pleased that our little 'adventure' was such fun. It took less than half an hour from Georgetown at this time of day with lots of parking on the Sheraton grounds. We were specifically there for the Summerlicious menu and it did not disappoint."

  • "The food and service were very good. I had the risotto with sea scallops and it was excellent. A generous portion of six huge sea scallops done perfectly with a delicious risotto with spinach and tomatoes. Only two complaints. One was the noise. There was a large group cocktail party with 50-60 people right next to us and the noise level made conversation difficult. If i were to return I would only do so if no large group event happening at same time. Secondly, I found the wood backed chairs uncomfortable. My dinner partners didn't seem to mind, but I was eyeing the high-backed leather chairs with envy."

  • "The food was excellent. Certainly enough food served to walk away full and at a good pricepoint. Beautifully plated. Buttersquash onion soup was so good, I didn't want to leave any in the bowl! Braised lamb was perfectly cooked and delicious. Apple dessert was also delicious. Our party of three sat at a fairly small round table. We should have asked to be moved to something a little larger however dinner made up for it. I would definitely recommend Olio's for a wonderful meal!"

  • "My husband and I went to Olio for dinner and truly enjoyed the food and ambiance. We had the trout with lentils, and the Moroccan lamb shank with couscous - both were fantastic and we would highly recommend both dishes. We got the calamari to start, which was delicately battered and cooked perfectly. It was so good that we were fighting over the crumbs! For dessert, the apple blossom and tiramisu were a perfect end to the meal. As for the ambiance, the restaurant was full, but the spacious dining room was still pleasantly quiet, which made for a very relaxing dinner and great conversation. There are not many good fine dining restaurants in this area - this is a true gem! I'd absolutely recommend Olio for a night out."

  • "We went for Winterlicious. Perhaps because it was the last day for Winterlicious, the choices were somewhat different from what was on-line. The soup was nice - the gruyere cheese crouton was really yummy. Smoked salmon with tomatoes and capersw sandwich was good but the tiramisu with mascarpone was absolutely delicious - a good sized portion as well."

  • "We went for Winterliscious and it was a great deal. The mains (lamb shank) and appetizers (squash soup and beet salad) were both deliscious. The desserts were okay (tiramisu & chocolate tart). We were originally seated on a banquet, but the bench was too soft so moved to a table with comfortable chairs with a view of the fireplace. Of the wines by the glass, the shiraz was a good match. The wine list needs to be improved as the chardonnay was just passable. Service was quick for the appetizer and mains, but we had to ask for more wine and water as the waiter didn't ask us and waited a while for dessert and the cheque. It got pretty busy after 8:00 and there were only two waiters."

  • "The service was rushed, so could not enjoy the meal very much. The waiter never came back even fill the water glass. He also brought the wrong desert and made an excuse. Unfortunately it was pretty clear that he had made a mistake and prepared the wrong thing. Nice and clean restaurant though, family friendly."

  • "The Olio was a typical 'hotel' restaurant experience, better than most. The food was okay, notable was the salmon, my guest rated it excellent. The chicken and penne that I had was noted for an absence of much chicken and I did not finish half of it. Wine list was short though, and expected. Nothing outstanding but good value overall. Better for lunch."

  • "We had dinner at Olio's twice during our stay at the Sheraton. Our first night there we took advantage of Winterlicious, the menu provided a good selection and once received everything tasted great and the portion size was more than adequate. Second night, no room in the dinning room so we had dinner in the bar, no bread (it was in the freezer), brought the wrong meal for my husband and there was only 1 server who was run off his feet so not a great experience the second night."

The service was very good and the atmosphere was just right for a quiet dinner for 2, although there were others in the restauraunt we felt like the focus was on our table. We will be returning in the New Year and bringing friends !"
