Diner Reviews
  • "All four of us loved our dinner. Go for the freshest seafood in Annapolis, you will not be disappointed. The scallop appretizer out of this world!"

  • "We ordered the crab cakes...truly outstanding, loaded with tasty, sweet crab meat. Even the side vegetables were cooked to perfection and the sauces were very favorable. The wait staff were truly on their game and made the dinner a success also. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We wanted a very high end dining experience but this didn't meet expectations. The food was fine but nothing special. We Won't go back."

  • "Still my favorite crab cakes in Maryland. Took 2 out of town guests there on Saturday night and they can't stop talking about how much they loved it. The scallop app was a nice surprise as well. Parking is still a bit of a pain, but we were able to find street parking about 3 blocks away and it was a nice evening to walk."

  • "Food and service was very good, only disappointment was we thought there would be a water view which is not the case."

  • "Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at O'Leary's last weekend, and had another phenomenal meal. Great appetizers, especially the fried calamari with chili aioli. Wine selection was very good by both the bottle and glass. He had the grouper, which was the best I've ever tasted, I enjoyed the Pacific Rim Tuna and the memorable wasabi mashed potatoes, and my daughter loved her seafood Alfredo. The staff there is excellent! Go and enjoy, I know we'll be back soon!"

  • "It had been several years since I had Benin Annapolis for dinner. I had formerly spent many weekends in Annapolis and frequented O'Leary's. The broiled crab cakes were just as delicious as I remembered. Additionally, everything else which my dining partner and I had was excellent."

  • "This restaurant has some of the best scallops we have ever had, in an appetizer in which they were wrapped in phyllo and served with pesto and red pepper sauce. Also outstanding was the zarzuela (think bouillabaisse but spicy), which included an entire large lobster tail and a heap of shrimp, scallops, mussels, and calamari; we split it and the entree was more than large enough for two. Oysters on the half shell were also excellent."

  • "Making reservations online was very convenient. We were greeted at the door and helped with getting my wife in her wheelchair to our table. Personnel comfortably friendly and professionally efficient. We let slip that we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and were surprised with a wonderful complimentary dessert which we wolfed down with as much good manners as we could muster. We have visited many times through the years but this visit reminded us we we should do so more often. Thanks."

  • "Fine food served superbly in a very nice environment."

  • "This was my best restaurant experience in a long time. I was by myself, and needed a place where I could relax and slowly savor the evening. Although the restaurant was busy, I was never hurried. The food was memorable---tuna sashimi appetizer, shrimp and scallops alfredo, pistachio cheesecake to swoon over. Visually welcoming with warm colors and lively art on the walls. My server, Elaine, was ingratiating and attentive without being intrusive. I would recommend O'Leary's to my most demanding friends, and I hope to return any other time I may be in Annapolis."

  • "Great local seafood place, crabcakes were fantastic, lobster was wonderful and a pork loin special was fantastic as well. Service was excellent, our glasses never were empty, very attentive waitress and it was a wonderful place to have a meeting for our group of three. O'Leary's is definitely a restaurant on my list of places to go in Annapolis Maryland."

  • "O'Leary's is a true gem, just down the street from our home. EVERY fish dish on the menu is beautifully prepared and plated perfectly. We have been dining at O'Learys for the last 7 years and have never been disappointed. Not only is the food and the tastefully casual setting exceptional but we have NEVER had a bad waiter. We always come here with our family to celebrate special moments like a pregnancy, 40th wedding anniversary, birthdays, engagements and just because....... We love the changing menu- as a regular- there is always something adventurous to try. BTW, their Steak dishes are BETTER than Ruth Chris, which is across the street."

  • "Wow! Everything, I mean everything, was delicious!!"

  • "Top quality fresh ingredients with ecclectic combinations made the dining experience superb! Wait staff was professional and knowledgeable. Very comfortable atmosphere. In addition to the beet salad we all started with we also shared an order of the fried oysters and they were outstanding. Three of us had the swordfish and it was delicious. For dessert we shared the bread pudding of the evening, peach, and with four forks it was gone in no time."

  • "Had a great time there again. Celebrated a birthday and had a wonderful time. Excellent food and an extensive wine list without being pretentious. I will be back again soon."

  • "I went to this restaurant during Annapolis Restaurant week. I knew that a lot of restaurants would be busy and crowded. This restaurant seems a tad bit small upon the entrance. The tables were really close together also. The lighting was really dim in there. As far as the food it was moderate. The mussles I ordered were actually small, as in I got bigger ones from Wegmans for $7. The crabcake was a bit plain, I like flavor in my food and I think it could have used a dash of salt and pepper. Just my preference. My favorite part was dessert! I loved LOVED the pistachio cheesecake. That's a winner!!! Best part of my meal."

  • "Great service, energetic atmosphere - enjoyed the food!"

  • "Excellent across the board as usual. Perfect crab cakes served with asparagus and delicious fingerling potatoes ( overheard another diner praise them). No one does calamari better, always fresh never chewy. The pistachio cheese cake was creamy and flavorful, server with caramel and whipped cream. The pastry cup of chocolate mousse could be a little flakier but the mousse was great. The service was impeccable and our server quite knowledgeable on both food and wine. O'Leary's is the place to treat yourself in Annapolis."

  • "We went for restaurant week and the service was excellent. I went with someone who had food allergies and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious, especially the crab cake. I would recommend it if you are looking for some good seafood at a smaller restaurant that is not in the busy downtown area."

  • "Went for Annapolis restaurant week. The crab cakes were excellent. Delicious meal. Nice wine list. Our table/room we dined in was poorly lit, but other than that, a delicious romantic experience!"

  • "literally every time I've eaten here it's been a wonderful experience. I have never been disapointed. It's not that the dishes are super compicated or very basic. It just seems like the chef truly turns each one into the best it can be. Guess I can't compliment them enough."

  • "O' Leary's has the freshest seafood that is inventively and deliciously prepared. Tough choices between the lobster cappuccino or fried oyster app or the crab cakes with mustard sauce, warm fingerling potato salad and asparagus or swordfish or scallops? Meat lovers have pork tenderloin stuffed with Gorgonzola or steaks. Service is great and food always arrives hot, fast, and artfully on the plate. This is our favorite restaurant in Annapolis. Make a reservation!"

  • "I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. This was my second time there and the food again was less than acceptable."

  • "Best calamari I've ever had. Very tender. Crab cakes were sweet, light, and delicious with negligible filler. Such a treat not to be made with Old Bay. Other diners had fish and shrimp both very well done. Food was delicious."

  • "This restaurant is a small little gem. The food has been good every time we have been. The wait staff is attentive. They have a interesting wine list and wines by the glass. This restaurant has a lot of restaurants around the area for competition and it holds it's own. We will go back."

  • "Went to O'Learys on Friday night during Annapolis Restaurant Week. The special menu included a number of the house specialties, so it was hard to make a choice. The calamari was perfectly flash fried and tender with a great dipping sauce. The Grouper with shrimp has a Latin flair, and was also extremely tasty. All of our food was very well prepared and nicely presented. Our server was attentive even though it was a very busy evening. The only down side was that this little restaurant gets rather noisy when it is full. We like the atmosphere better when it is a quieter evening."

  • "O'Leary's is one of our favorite restaurants. As always the food was very tasty. Our only complaint is that the menu said "crispy grouper" and the fish was definitely not crispy (although extremely tasty). Perhaps the problem is that it was Restaurant Week in Annapolis and the restaurant expected so many people to order the grouper that they prepared it ahead of time."

  • "Food is excellent, service is excellent, comfortable atmosphere, first class all the way..;..but at the same time semi casual. We loved it."

  • "We were there for Annapolis Restaurant Week on a Friday night so it was busier than a normal Friday night. The kitchen was a little backed up and the wait staff told us about that which was nice. The extra time just provided us with more time to talk before the food arrived. The food was great and the wine list gave us plenty of choices. The seafood is always fresh and the menu always leaves me wanting to come back in order to try something new each time. O'Leary's is definitely a place I should get back to more often than I do."

  • "Second time coming here. First time was on New Years Eve. It was perfect then and it was perfect again. The food is consistently good and well priced for the area. The drinks are fantastic especially the martinis. The fact that they have their own parking lot is amazing for Easport."

  • "First rate service, easy parking, lovely dining room, exceptional menu and delicious food. What else can I say! Well, also reasonable and complete wine list, delightful reception when my wife and I arrived, no wait, comfortable temperature (not freezing like so many restaurants), and crusty fresh bread!"

  • "I've lived in the neighborhood for awhile and wanted to save o'learys for a special occasion. The food was good...not GREAT. There was a very annoying customer near us that muddied the experience. So it ended up being just okay."

  • "We had the Grouper with shrimp, calamari and mussels and all of them were delicious. Our waiter was very helpful and pleasant. Would recommend this restaurant."

  • "Dining at OLearys was a very lovely experience. The waiter was attentive without being a nuisance, a difficult thing to do, while my husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner. The food and wine was wonderful. It was nice that it happened to be "Restaurant Week" as it enabled us to try their specialties at a reasonable price. It was fun that my husband and I ordered different appetizers, entrees and desserts so we could give each other a taste of our choices. It was nice that it was walkable location as well as ample parking. Can't wait to have dinner at OLearys again in the near future ;-)"

  • "O'Leary's is a long time favorite of ours. The seafood here is outstanding, and we've never had a dish we didn't like. It can be pricey, so you might want to save it for special occasions if that is a concern of yours. It can be noisy on weekends with all of the conversations going on so I'd recommend a week night if you want a quieter experience."

  • "We've been to O'Leary's several times before - in this case we went on the Saturday after Valentine's Day as our 'date night' and had two great entrees, both off the specials menu. Can't recommend the "Pig and Fig" house special martini - too sweet, and it seems like they're still trying to find the balance with fig-infused vodka. Other than that, though, our entrees were both wonderful and we had a great time."
