O'Learys Seafood RestaurantAnother Great Meal!!O'Learys remains in my mind the best seafood restaurant in Annapolis. The Starters menu was so enticing that both my wife and I eschewed the entre selections and just went for appetizers. I started with tomatoe soup, then my wife and I each had the beet salad. For my main course I had the Oysters Italienne and the Fried Oysters. My wife had the Tuna Shashimi. Both of us really enjoyed our meals. In my opinion they prepare the best oyster based dishes in town. Easy-going with a comfortable touch of elegance, lively & friendly but not overly-energetic. Inviting decor with an eclectic mix of Mediterranean-esque & nostalgic Annapolis nautical charm. Friendly, Knowledgable and attentive staff. A bit off the beaten path, but includes a somewhat-obstructed view of downtown. The harbour area is steps away, providing for a nice after-dinner stroll. If interested in the beaten path, downtown is a short walk away. A large parking lot is a bonus! Our meals were excellent & the presentation was pretty without being pretentious. True foodies might crave more zing. Portions are generous. The wine was perfect. We would recommend to friends & visitors. The service is also well timed, unobstrusive, and not rushed if you want to take your time.
The restaurant is cozy and has a good feel although it can feel crowded at times but it was very noisy on our last visit and we do not like to use the front left dining space as it can be especially noisy.
I have to say that they have some very amateurish art work that I always find disturbing because it is of such uneven quality and too bold for the space. I am a big fan of modern art so the issue is not style, rather quality of the pieces selected.

They were exceptional, as was the tuna. The grouper however, which is one of their signature dishes, was a little disappointing. To our taste, it was too heavily breaded and there were too many competing flavors and spices overwhelming the fish. Chris was terrific - he didn't over wait or rush us but was there instantly when we needed him. All in all, a great success.
