Don't let the modest facade fool you. This Spanish restaurant has it all. The wine list is superb and is full of Spanish wines that are not your typical offerings. Trust me, there are a lot of tasty offerings on the list. If you aren't sure, ask your trusty waiter. They give you a choice of wine glass size too, so you can try several wines along with your multiple tapas. The small dishes are especially good for allowing small groups to have a taste of their friends' favorite dishes as well as their own. It also allows one to experiment with dishes outside of your comfort range. There's a lot of awesome flavors on the menu. Got to try some new dishes Pinchetos (chicken, pineapple, chorizo skewers) and some classics-Gambas (shrimp & garlic & Seta Confrit (mushrooms with black garlic and onions) YUMMY! But of course, we had to have the pitcher of Sangrias. What an awesome way to spend Cinco de Mayo. The service is always great-Thank you Christina-you Rock!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting, but expensiveExcellent, warm, freindly, knowlegable customer service, except our drinks sweated all over the otherwise beautiful wood table all night and no one offered to wipe the table. The food was mostly excellent, except one Tapas was way too salty. The round booth we were in was very, very nicely cozy and intimate...very comforting and romantic that way. However, it woud have been prefferable to seperate the noisy group crowd from the quite dining crowd. The deserts were out-of-this-world delicious! However, our sangria had little to no alcohol and was very expensive.It also had small bits that clogged the straw....take my advice, just ditch the straw. Overall, very interesting, but expensive experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTop of the TapasThough the geographic location is not elegant, the interior of the restaurant is fine and the food and service are superior. As with any tapas restaurant, having enough people to justify ordering a wide variety of dishes is important. Definitely better then Philly's Amada. Everything we had was FULL of flavor and delicious. The BBQ Duck was outstanding. The service is great and the ambiance is nice and quiet when we are their around 5pm, but could be louder later. We live in Baltimore, Md area but make trips to Newark 4-5 times a year just for a taste of OLE Tapas. This time we had the paella, which was truly excellent. I want to commend the staff for going "above and beyond" in accommodating one of my guests who is gluten and lactose intolerant; the servers graciously and cheerfully helped her choose specials tapas for her, thus making the dinner an enjoyable and delicious one for all. My out-of-the-country, well-traveled guests were so impressed with, and so enjoyed, the food and service. And I have to say a special word about the incredible hot chocolate, which I now have every time I go to Ole, and which was a bit hit with my guests as well.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI haven't been to Ole in aI haven't been to Ole in a while. Its still a great place to go. Service is always impeccable, the food is amazing and the wine list is tasty and different than the usual around here. I don't know a lot about spanish wines except that they are excellent. This is a fun place to come with friends, as that way you can try more dishes, have some paella, etc. I recommend this place highly as one of the top 5 places in Northern Delaware.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAnytime we want a great mealAnytime we want a great meal with excellent food, a liesurely pace, and great drinks, we head to Ole Tapas. EveryThis place is fantastic. Every dish that came out was beautifully plated and delicious. The front of the house staff were very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. the manager, was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome.
