food good, but lost some of its flavors (from original opening) that made me want to come more often. Ambiance is nice and drink list good, but wait staff probably can't explain them to you (go up to the bar if want an explanation or recommendation -- means need to have a drink training session with staff).

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary and were first time visitors. We made reservations on open table. The host took care of us from the moment we arrived even helped us find a parking spot! The food was fresh and flavorful! The wait staff were very attentive and knowledgable. I would recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner.

Went with a group; our server was overly exuberant at the start which he could have recovered from but the "up-sell" of 2 guacamole's (at $12 each" without asking us if we wanted them was frustrating. It was a "we should start the table off with this, and looking at the size, you need 2; he was gone before a few guests could comment they don't like it. (1 was plenty) Several times 4 of 8 had empty drinks & when asked about a substitution on an entree, he rudely informed there's a fee since it was a substitute of a veggie for a starch. A fee is fine, but really, this is 2014 with Celiac and Gluten intolerance in the news and there's a nicer way to say it. All in all the food is decent but the restaurant is mediocre at best.

The food was very good. The waitress was slow and our first drink order had salt and we specifically said no salt. We waited a long time to get her to come to the table for our second drink order. I thought they came to the table and made the guacamole dip right there, but she didn't even ask if we wanted it we ordered it and it just arrived. I read that was their signature thing. Anyway it was a nice restaurant a bit loud, but food was good. We came from the suberbs - took 1 hour to get there and no parking and we got a $30 parking ticket. If it was closer we would probably go again but not worth the hassle.

The food was really quite good, but the one thing that was a but surprising is that upon getting seated we were immediately asked if we would like guacamole and chips for the table. There was no suggestion or understanding that this was going to cost $12. It wasn't until after it was served, and menus were provided that we noticed this was not a complimentary item for our table. The server should have set expectations with us before offering it. Other than that, the Pork Belly Taco appetizer was fantastic, and our entrees were very good. We have no complaints about the quality of the food. It was excellent. The pricing was a bit higher than expected, and the unexpected additional cost of the guacamole was rude in our opinion.

We have eaten dinner here a number of times, and I am remiss in not having written a review sooner. Ole looks like a casual Mexican restaurant in the front room where the bar is. The back room is much prettier. The menu has very few Tex-Mex items filled with carbs. Instead the dishes are imaginative and well put together with interesting spices (mole sauce is a big favorite here) and quality meats and ingredients. We have lived in Boston for 30 years, but we drive to Ole in Cambridge for Mexican food. There is no other Mexican restaurant in either city that comes close to this one. Note: The lunch menu is not the same as for dinner and has few dishes. We have not gone to the brunch.

We've had 5 or 6 brunches here in the past and I must say, on this visit we were disappointed in the food and the moderately expensive bloody mary drinks we ordered. The drink was served in what looked like a water glass, was packed to the brim with ice, and there was actually very little beverage for what was charged. The server was somewhat missing in action and I ordered a coffee, and was never offered a refill or could find the server to ask until we were done. Food was ok but I think it's been better. We drive here from Westford and it probably won't be someplace we return to, at least for awhile.

I've eaten at ole three times in the last two weeks. Each time I've chosen a different appetizer and entre and have always been more than satisfied. But, for starters, I always stick with their famous guacamole- it's the best! Making it a little special was our conversation with our waiter from Mexico who is in grad school here. Finally, the dessert...chocolate bread pudding or tres leches...you can't go wrong.

The food is consistently great at Ole. The quality is excellent and I find it more authentic than most TexMex joints. I also love the atmosphere and often go if I want to hear the person across from me at the table. The drinks are also very tasty, whether ordered as a complement to the food, or if ordered at the bar. All these qualities make Ole one of my favorite places, but it is the fresh guacamole that above all else keeps me coming back.

its hard to find good Mexican food in the Boston Cambridge area. Ole is an exception. The food continues to be great tasting, and this time around the service was even better than in the past.so now the but...the portion sizes used to be big, almost too big. this time and they were reduced quite a bit in size, which was good, but the prices have stayed the same. so, a lot less value for your money.

Went here around 7pm on a Saturday. It was lively and a bit loud, but still doable if you can screech over peoples voices. Service was slow. We waited 10 min to be asked our order and to receive water. But the food was just so darn delicious. I ordered the cauliflower taco as an appetizer. It is not under the app section but i told our waiter for it to come out first which was perfect. *Note it's only one taco per order. Then a dish of vegetable stew with pumpkin puree. So delicious. My date ordered the skirt steak with mashed potatoes and was thoroughly satisfied. *Note this dish is for a steak lover, as there was so much meat!

We really enjoyed our dinner. We started with guacamole, made fresh, and outstanding served with delicious salsa and home baked tortilla chips. For mains, my husband and I had two orders each of tacos, 4 different varieties and each one fabulous, our guest had the duck with mole sauce, which he told us was great. We thought it was one of the best meals we've had locally in quite a while. Service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant is nicely decorated with comfortable seating. There is a metered parking lot to the rear of the restaurant. We plan on returning again and again.

If this were half the restaurant it used to be... From something special to just another tex-mex. Meh margaritas. Bland salmon. Over peppered steak on the salad. Service: Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the culinary school grad who can't cut it as a chef in the lead waiter role, whose primary function seemed to be pointing out his under study's lack of experience in the most pretentious character possible. Ambiance: mariachi Muzak of every tired classic rock hit you can think of. If this trend continues they will have to lower their premium price tags and change their name from Olé to Así-Así.

First, let me say that the tequila/mezcal selection is fantastic. I tried one of the flights and the three I got were very good, not all that distinct from one another, but very good. The guacamole made "tableside" was indeed tasty. The salsa tasted like it was made from a can, I understand that it is not quite tomato season. We ordered some tapas and the veggie enchilada for our meal. The fish on the fish taco was tasteless as if it hadn't been seasoned or marinated. The chorizo tacos had some spice/flavor. The enchiladas were topped with a green sauce which was bland and the braised vegetables in the enchilada varied from burned to decent. Our waiter was friendly but flaky and forgetful (forgot to put our order in). Go elsewhere.
