  • "We had an excellent fish fry on Friday evening I want you to be successful because you are doing SO many things right but I do have some comments based on many many years of restaurant eating Please train your staff better---really, some of them wander around like they are in a daze and some act like the customer is a nuisance What I hear most is the food is spotty---I have had three very good meals with ;you but have friends who vow they will never return again. Get someone in charge of your kitchen who knows what they are doing The two tops along the wall are way too small and if I'd spent a mil on decorating, sure would get rid of some of those pigs !!!"

  • "There were 10 of us and we all had a good experience. Even though our waitress was a little slow it gave us time to visit and enjoy our time there. She also was very attentive to the younger ones in our group. The food was very good and there were no complaints from our group. I'm sure we will be going again."

  • "Beautiful and bright, BUT the open beams, while refurbished and warm encourage a loud echo effect of conversations... large new bar area, welcoming, BUT one must pass through the bar to get to dining seating...a bit uncomfortable however, bar patrons probably love it."

  • "This was my kids pick growing up for special birthday dinners. Took my son for his 20th birthday Sunday and we had a wonderful experience. The place looks great and the service from Nick was wonderful. My husband and children enjoyed the rib combo meals and the French onion soup was to die for. I had the Schnitzel which was OK, I wanted to try something different, but I was not a fan of the dry spaetzel or the red cabbage."

  • "This was my first visit to this restaurant since it changed owners. I was hoping the ribs were the same as when it was Jerry's. I can't say they were exactly the same, but it was close. I would suggest offering extra sauce on the side with the 'original' rib orders. It seemed very loud in the restaurant. Don't believe many people heard the accordion and drum player. We went there specifically for the ribs, as I assume most do. The sauce may not have been exactly like Jerry's, but was still good. We will visit again."

  • "My friends & I got to there early to sit at the bar & have a drink. I was the last one to get there.I was going to order a vodka martini straight up w/mushrooms&a glass of ice on the side which both my friends had&they said it was not very good. Both had top shelf vodka so it wasn't that. I ordered a glass of house Pinot Gris. That was fine. My friends couldn't pin point exactly what the distaste was. Once they ate a mushroom they discovered the mushrooms were sour. Then we noticed that not one of the martinis was ever poured out of a shaker. We do believe this was part of the problem as a good martini needs to be hand shook. I'm sure there it was more watered down&it did not even fill the whole glass. Running out of space&still have more"

  • "Our server was overwhelmed on a slow wed. night. She informed us it was only her second day. Sat down at 7:05 pm, walked out with our food in a to go cont. at 8:45! 10 minutes to even approach us. After our appetizer she approached us and said "dinner will be right out , so sorry!" I said , what do you mean, we haven't even had our SALAD! and that was 40 minutes AFTER our appetizer! Our server needs to learn how to manage her table time properly. Ruined our Anniv. experience. After an exhausting wait we finally told her to box up our food, AND THEN we waited 10 minutes for our check!"

  • "Like the new remodeling, & online reservations. Bartenders & servers excellent. Beer selection too. Enjoyed the light batter on the fish, although could have been a tad warmer. Thought it curious that for a table of 3, the bread & roll basket had 4 tiny thin pieces of rye bread. A second order had two rolls & a few more pieces. The two top near us had rolls overflowing their basket. Two of us had cole slaw, thought 'some spice ws missing'. Not sure. We know prices increase often, but were disappointed in the $6.50 price for the french onion soup - now no longer a value for our group. Took advantage of the $2.00 beer discount at the excellent Bier Stuebe next door along with our Old Town receipt. That was nice!!! We will be back."

  • "We were sat promptly for our 7pm reservation.Gave that 3 stars. Our food was just warm and not hot, Brussels sprouts were undercooked and hard as golf balls. Ordered Famous Ribs. Needed more sauce. Spetzle was dried out and to much parsley. Red cabbage was the best and wish I'd had more. Service was slow, waited 14 min before we were greeted but server was nice once he finally showed up!! Overall, wouldn't go out of my way to return! 2top tables were a bit small, couldn't fit all our plates/bread basket."

  • "We were huge fans of the old Jerry's, so we were happy to see the place reopening. It's clear they want to be more than just a rib place, but happily they've kept some of the faves from the past around. The renovations look great, but for some reason it seems unusually loud in their now. I don't think I'd ever take my senior citizen parents their; conversation would be futile. All in all though, a nice experience."

  • "It is worth going to Old Town just to see the remodel. The raised ceiling really opens up the space and the decor is beautiful and warm. We had an excellent server named David who was very attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. My husband enjoyed his platter of sausage, chicken and ribs. I ordered a steak cooked medium. I felt it was very rare and was served on a bed of frozen vegetables. I was very disappointed in the vegetables - especially for the price."

  • "I was to Old town on a Saturday, at 3:30, Everyone was polite, as soon as started getting busy it seemed every one panicked, seemed to be lack of a manager and or wait staff, my wait staffer gave us our food and never came back to check on us, had to look for them to get bill, all these things that can easily be fixed. The food was good and i would go back."

  • "We had 7pm reservations on a busy Friday night. We were seated immediately at a table for two. They have remodeled and raised the ceiling. It looks very nice and updated. There was an accordion and guitar duo, playing nice background music. The room was noisy. It was fine for us but I think older people may have a hard time hearing each other. I had the cod basket and my husband had the rib and sausage combo. All the food was served hot and tasty. They gave you a bread basket and relish tray. We would come back again."

  • "I went with a group of 6. The guys all had a full rack of ribs and the ladies half racks and that was plenty to leave us with happy full bellies. We had the Famous Baby Back Ribs and with just the right amount of sauce & spice. I am salivating just thinking about them again. :) All of us tried the Beer Battered Mozzarella Cheese Cubes and the Portabella Mushroom Fries. Both had the perfect ratio of breading to mushroom/cheese. We all also had the Famous Baked French Onion Soup. Everyone loved it. Whiskey old fashions were muttled to perfection. The woman serving us seemed a bit frazzeled, however, I think this was more because it was hard to hear everyone. Had a table for 12 for 6 of us, would have preferred smaller table."

  • "2nd visit, service awful, poor seating, loud noise thourghout meal, poor seating - asked for alternate tables, told they were reserved but no one seated there until we finished meal. Meal served too fast, food courses arrived before soup done. Had to request items two times before they were served, poor man's lobster too dry, underbaked baked potato. Won't return for third meal. First meal was opening gala and also had poor experience with patron next to us complaining of hair in her meal."

  • "Ribs were great! We decided to eat at the bar since we had nice seats. Bartenders were friendly but really overwhelmed. There should have been one more. There were so many people dining at the bar they couldn't keep up with the diners or the service well. They missed out on higher bar tabs for both the people waiting for tables and the diners by not being able to check back and serve more drinks. I would also suggest place mats for the diners. It would be a nice touch."

  • "My husband is in construction as a superintendent and he feels they need sound panels as the main dining room with music was to noisy. When the music was so loud that only raised the noise level of the people way more. Not relaxing! Met other people we knew there, walking out and they had same thoughts. Portion size for fish fry at your prices are too small. People left hungry, go to all you can eat."

  • "We went for a Friday fish fry. The potato skin appetizer was fantastic and so was the French onion soup. The baked cod was also very good. Everything just a bit on the pricey side. $3 Products and $5 tap beers for example. The place looked great with it's new look- loved the raised ceilings and the expanded bar area. They had a 2-piece musical "group" playing in the dining area, which we would have liked more if it wasn't so loud. I think it caused everyone to yell to hear each other and just made the issue even worst. We literally couldn't hear each other at our own table until they took a break and a couple larger parties left. We noticed on the way out it was noticeably quieter in the bar. Maybe have the music there??"

  • "Much to our delight, we were able to enjoy the same ribs we loved so much over the years. The updates to the restaurant decor is fantastic!( For those who may care - the bar is huge, & accommodates many people) The side dishes & desserts were mediocre, as was always the case at Jerry's, too (in fact, my flourless chocolate cake was a tall, frozen mousse-type cake, & tasted freezer burned). I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loved Jerry's ribs!!!"

  • "I don't mind paying high prices if the food I get is exceptional, but this was just average stuff at inflated prices. Cocktails are $8.50, steaks are $29.00 and up, and the menu was very limited. I originally wanted to order schnitzel, but didn't care for the side dishes offered with it. I asked if I could substitute some other sides from the list and the restaurant refused to do so. Ridiculous, in my opinion. I ordered a baked chicken dinner, which turned out to be three small pieces of plain old chicken with BBQ sauce on it, dumped on top of some zucchini and a few strips of red pepper. Not worth $17.50, to be sure. I'm not sure what this restaurant is trying to prove with their high prices and poor attitude towards customers."

  • "I definitely wasn't expecting it to be like the old Jerry's, as it is totally new owners... but when you price things higher, and advertise it is like you remember it, I expect it to be close. Overall the food was OK. I felt like I could get similar tasting ribs at Famous Daves for cheaper though. The sauce was definitely not the same, and the ribs weren't slathered in it either. What turned me off is when we were ordering food, the waitress was giving my wife a hard time about ordering the half order of salad, saying it was way too small and giving us an attitude of "that is all you are going to order?". I ordered a combo sampler as a meal, as I wanted to try the onion rings and ribs...weren't the same, and no bread as we were too cheap."

  • "Brought back from the dead. They did an excellent job with the remodel. More "wow", more open and a more friendly atmosphere. The Onion soup was made like it was 25 years ago. My order of ribs met all of my expectations. My only complaint is the sauce. I would have preferred to have an option of a more spicy sauce. Well done. I will be back in the near future."

  • "We'd been frequent diners at this location & mourned it's closing, even though quality had deminished while prices had risen to unreasonable. On our last visit at the old Jerry's we had a surly waitress who seemed to not care for her job or us. What a difference. Our table was available at our reserved time and the host greeted us warmly. The interior remodel has opened up the old cavernous interior making use of natural light liberally while giving the appearance of a large great room complete with fireplace. Our waitress was upbeat and attentative. The menu has changed little but quality is back up to standard, great. Dry rubbed Kansas style ribs are now a staple option if you enjoy a bit of smoke flavor. We'll definitely be back."
