Diner Reviews
  • "We had a busy and important business meeting and ended the day with a lovely dinner at Old Pueblo. Our out-of-town business associates loved the food and the feel of the southwest. It was a perfect ending to a great day."

  • "Great food and very good service. The ghost pepper margaritas were awesome!"

  • "These guys take Tex Mex to a whole new level with their combination of smoked meats in Mexican classics. Do NOT miss the Hatch green chile Mac and cheese. The Sonoran Chicken Parmesan is one of the best meals you'll ever eat."

  • "My wife and I were observing our 53rd wedding anniversary. Enjoyed the opportunity to have lunch at the Grille, our first visit there. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, it was a rather windy day and the food cooled quickly (eating on the patio), and I found it less tasty than I had expected."

  • "Old Pueblo Grille is a wonderful place to get together with friends. This was a special occasion of old friends coming together after 45 years. Everyone enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant and the food was wonderful. We didn't feel rushed and the food was outstanding."

  • "I love this place and go there often for both lunch and dinner, and take out-of-town guests there as a favorite spot. Haven't been in the bar, so can't give that a rating though it's probably great also. I like that there aren't kids there often as it's quieter and makes me want to stay longer, such as coming early for drinks and appetizers and staying after dinner for coffee and dessert. We don't do that at a lot of places because of the amount of small and LOUD children present. The wait staff is always excellent and the food first rate. Hope the Old Pueblo Grille stays around for a long, long time!"

  • "We dined on a Friday evening (at 6:15). We were seated immediately. The waiter took a drink order and returned with the drinks (Martini's) without olives and was surprised when we asked for olives. Instead of allowing us a few minutes to enjoy our drink, the waiter thought we would order immediately. We asked him to come back in 10 minutes. He did. Food arrived by a different wait staff who was very friendly and accommodated a few special requests. The food was excellent, as was the guacamole we ordered. Dessert was shared and also very good. Overall--food great. Service mediocre. Hostess--standing doing nothing---did nothing to acknowledge or thank us as we left. We will be back--solely for the food, not for the service"

  • "We took out of town guests to the Old Pueblo Grill for dinner. This was our second dinner here and once again the experience was delightful. Service was prompt and friendly. Our dinners were tasty and hot. Margaritas were excellent. We definitely will recommend this restaurant to friends and look forward to returning soon."

  • "Loved the appetizer sampler. Great food and service!"

  • "Food is delicious. Portions are too generous, but leftovers are good. Noise level is too high for seniors. Price is right!"

  • "I ordered the Pork Tenderloin and the two Boneless Pork Chops I had were very tough. I couldn't finish either. I was hoping the second Chop was going to be more tender than the first that I tried, but no such luck. We did enjoy the Calamari appetizer. The Guacamole was average. Loved the Chilean Merlot. Service was less than average. My water glass was empty more than it had water in it. Several promises to refill went unanswered. Did not hear any complaints from the other three I had dinner with."

  • "It had been a while since we went to Old Pueblo Grill and we all felt the food was better than ever...especially the sides...and especially the Hatch Green Chile Mac and Cheese. Highly recommend the Avocado Chicken - but get a side of Mac & Cheese. Drinks are well made and a good variety of margaritas are offered. The service was okay, but a little spotty at times as they got busier. Although kudos to our waitperson for being very well versed in the different tequilas that were offered. Overall, I look forward to going back. Maybe they'll do their Mac and Cheese as a main dish."

  • "We dined here years ago, and we were pleasantly surprised to enjoy our time here in so many ways. The food came so fast after ordering that I had only taken a few sips of a custom made sanrita (sangria in a margheurita). And the food was outstanding. I also needed gluten free and the waitress was very willing to check with the kitchen to assure what I ordered was indeed gluten free. The creme brulee was fabulous! We were also happy that the total check did not break the bank. An all around outstanding dining experience."

  • "Very Pretty Place. Upon entry you are hit with the most beautiful smell of Orange Blossom. Had a reservation. Seated in awful space. Felt like cafeteria seating. Didn't feel special. Seated so two of us faced rest rooms. Food very good. Avocado Chicken, rich, gooey and satisfying. Beef Fajitas, great pepper selection, nicely cooked beef, but lots of oil. Pollo Asada, nicely cooked, BBQ satisfying. Excellent Bread Pudding, light but pleasing."

  • "I visit Tucson every year and this is one of the spots I love to visit. Outdoor dining is the best I've seen in Tucson, wait staff is extremely helpful and friendly, overall ambiance is first rate, food has always been fantastic. I would (and have) recommended several times."

  • "Wife and I had not been here for a while, and this was an even better experience than I remember. Wonderful food, and plenty of it without going overboard on the portion sizes. The house salad was terrific, the ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and had outstanding flavor. The accompanying vegetables and potatoes were also done perfectly, and had amazing flavor. My wife's Avocado Chicken was delicious (I sampled it) and also cooked perfectly. Both plates were very attractive when served (and very empty when we had finished). I won't be waiting so long to go back, again."

  • "We love to visit OPG...the food is consistently good and generous portions allow us to share entrees. The outdoor patio is beautiful and great for this time of year. We had great service, the food and drinks were the best. We will definitely be back when visiting Tucson."

  • "This was a self-treat on Valentine's Day and was a favorite dining spot for my husband and me any time of the year. I love sitting outside, especially near the fountain! Beautiful ambiance, wonderful food, excellent service. Great place to take out-of-state visitors for an impressive dining experience at any time!"

  • "The food was soooo good. We ordered meals for 3 children and the portions were huge. Our daughters $6 kid hamburger was as big as head. She had plenty for lunch the next day. In fact each child had a huge plate of food ordered from the kids menu and plenty of leftovers. It was delicious. We'll definitely be back again and again."

  • "I would go to this restaurant every time we dined out if we lived in Tucson. The food was consistently great. Atmosphere was elegant. Loved the bar for a different dining experience. Loved the Margaritas. Happy hour appetizers made a great meal. The combination dinners were also great. This restaurant also has an interesting history."

  • "I'd never been to the Old Pueblo Grill before so this was a first for me. I was very satisfied with my meal. The steak was not as good a cut as I think should be offered considering there is only one offered on the menu. Living on the Northwest side of town, it's definitely not a drive I would make just to go there, but if on that side of town, it would be a decent choice for dinner or lunch."

  • "As always, Old Pueblo Grille did not disappoint. The Southwestern and Mexican menu provides something for everyone. The waiter checked on us frequently (but without hovering)."

  • "The setting Old Pueblo is really "old pueblo". Mud brick exterior walls, beautiful courtyard for outside dining. Secluded. The service was excellent and the quality of good was very good. Fresh ingredients. The Caesar salad that I had was the real thing....you could clearly discern the egg in the dressing."

  • "The calamari appetizer may be the best in Tucson.. also had the Sampler Appetizer.. also wonderful.. Rattlesnake eggs.. YUM. Firecracker Shrimp.. very good. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and the beer selection is above average for Tucson. Wonderful service, although the place was not busy for Saturday lunch.. I don't know why.."

  • "The smoked pork loin was delicious and moist but a little tough. The chipotle mac and cheese was fabulous as was the pulled pork. The enchiladas were also delicious with the house smoked chicken in one of the enchiladas. Portions were large so everyone took food home. We were all way to full to try any of the deserts. We ate early so it was very quiet until a party with a little child was seated next to us."

  • "We took the whole family here to use some gift cards we were given and we had a nice time and had some delicious food. We ordered a sampler platter for an appetizer to share and everything on it was delicious. It had stuffed chorizo mushrooms, rattlesnake eggs, shrimp and quesadillas. I ordered the Hatch Chili Pot roast (with mashed potatoes and calabacitas). The meat was so tender and the sauce was amazing. My other half ordered the Carnitas taco plate and was in heaven. It came with all sorts of sides: rice, charro beans, green chile mac'n'cheese. So good. The kids meals were just okay, a cheeseburger and noodles with butter (which was macaroni noodles with no flavor). No dessert menu was seen or offered. Overall, very good."
