Old Mill Room @ The Boar's HeadBoar's Head May 2013I had the veal chop: perfectly cooked, fork tender, medium rare. The morels and asparagus were superb accompaniments, and the tempura battered green onion on top was a whimsical touch, and the foie gras based sauce was exquisite. My husband had the pork tenderloin. Just excellent. Strawberry/rhubarb compote for dessert with honey ice cream. Followed by two complimentary house made chocolates and espresso. We live about 75 miles from there and find it a delightful day's trip for a wonderful mid-day get-a-way. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary which was acknowledged with a special treat. Our request for a table by a window was made possible which gave a view of the lake and gorgeous flowers and landscape offered to complete our enjoyment of the entire Boar's Head experience.
On this particular visit, the selection of entrees was not, overall, as good as had been enjoyed on previous visits. However, salads and desserts were fantastic!

You can usually count on Valentine's day to be one of the worst meals of the year thanks to the overwhelmed kitchens. Not the case at Boar's Head! The food arrived quickly and was prepared to perfection. I'm not crazy about their decor, but there's no arguing with the food. I'll be back!2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
