The menu at the Old Lyme Inn’s restaurant and bar offers guests traditional comfort food with a modern twist.

Since its opening in April 2012, the restaurant has quickly become a celebrated meeting place for visitors and locals alike. Hailed by critics and customers, our chefs work diligently to offer dishes that run the gamut from traditional selections to unique options that will challenge the way you think about food.

The lunch and dinner menu, as well as the wine and cocktail list, change seasonally and employ locally grown and deliciously fresh produce, meat, and seafood; as well as farm-roasted coffee and homemade ice cream.

  • "My date and I came for dinner and a show on Saturday night, 3/8/14 with reservations for both (recommended). Service was pleasant, efficient and had a positive energy. We were seated instantly for our 7:00 dinner reservation, asked if we were going to the 8:30 show and so noted by the pleasant hostess. We each ordered a glass of wine from a tidy wine list, her a Chardonnay and me a Pino Grigio which satisfied us both. dinner orders were provided within minutes and came prepared precisely as described in the menu. about 1/2 glass of wine later the appetizers came- her a bisque and me a salad. We commented that both we very good and unique. Dinner was ready at the precise time we finished the first course and we both enjoyed them as well."

  • "We find The Inn a perfect spot for lunch - it falls between two destinations for us. The formal dining room is quaint and lovely. There is nothing more pleasant than sitting at a window table in the sunshine on a cold winter day looking out at the snow while enjoying a delicious bowl of homemade soup. The food is reliably good and nicely served. The waitstaff is professional, attentive and happy. During the warm months there is an attractive terrace for outside dining which we want to try. The Bar is also an enjoyable place to eat in a more relaxed atmosphere. On the weekends we understand there is a LIVELY 'night club' with excellent musical entertainment. We always look forward to stopping at The Inn."

  • "Very nice, simple menus with good execution. I loved the heat cocktail. The atmosphere is classy but not too pretentious . My Wife and I went on a Wednesday night for a midweek break from cooking. I was very quite and we got a table in the bar not far from the fire, just right for a cold winter evening. A large party came in later but was put in the main dining room so it remained intimate in the bar. The food was tasty, service was excellent and the atmosphere just what we were looking for. We will defiantly be back and try it another night to see this gem in another mood. Very glad to see this restaurant back and performing in the class it belongs!"

  • "Nice to have a la carte options for brunch that are breakfast and also lunch type offerings (i.e.; bacon and eggs or a hamburger). I was in the breakfast mood and I wished they had had an omlette on the menu but all in all the food was very good as was the service."

  • "This was our first time dining at Old Lyme Inn and will not be our last! Chosen as a middle point meet up spot for lunch with a couple that lives in CT. Each of the 4 of us had different meals, all we're outstanding! Soups, grilled cheese, lobster Mac and cheese, hamburger, vegetable , were all freshly prepared and most tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend as the perfect place located right off RT 95 at Exit 70 for a terrific meal whether in transit or as a destination."

  • "The food was tremendous. I had the Chicken Pot Pie, delicous and comforting; My husband had Salmon he said was fantastic. We shared the brussel sprouts-perfect side. However, we were put in the bar and it was extremely noisy. I was looking for a quieter room. We did not get a wine list. I ordered a glass of pinot noir and hoped for the best. We had to ask for bread, although everyone around us was served bread before the meal. Our side of brussel sprouts did not come with our meal and we had to ask several times before they came.We were almost done with our meal when they came out. The waiter was friendly, but seemed inexperienced and not as attentive as he could be. With a few tweaks, this place could be 5 stars across the board."

  • "The Side Door jazz club has Old Lyme Inn attached. Club is perfect. Restaurant is super convenient to complete a great date night. The food was pretty good, but missed the mark of true foody goodness. Kale salad was huge and yummy. Lobster Mac and Cheese needed something. Polenta deconstructed lasagna was tasty, different. Not sure how it got to be lasagna. I'll try it again, but might prefer to be in the bar area. Dining room was lovely but very quiet."

  • "We've dined here for years, now under new ownership since our last visit. It was a very busy night there as a concert was happening. Even so, our service was pretty good. The menu while not overly large, has delicious sounding choices. My thoughts are that nothing was bad--just very bland. I had the chopped salad and mushroom polenta lasagna--and needed to salt and pepper both quite heavily--something I am not in the habit of doing! The bar also seemed to be having a few glitches--likely due to high volume of concert goers. The very best thing served at our table was the creme brûlée---wow! That was amazing!! I would go again--perhaps on a quieter night A lovely touch was the outside fire pit with marshmallows for roasting!"

  • "There were five of us dining tonight...between us, we ordered shrimp and grits, calves liver, salmon, lamb chops, and tuna. Everything was tasty, but the two fish dinners were on the small side. We could only select from the menu....there were no specials that night....but they were out of a couple items including filet mignon by 7;00 on a Sat night!! Would consider coming back again as our waiter (services was EXCELLENT by the way!) said a new menu would be available next month...."
