A word from Old Homestead - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
Old Homestead Steakhouse, one of New York City's most historic restaurants, opened its first west coast location at Caesars Palace on December 22, 2011. The classic eatery has been known for its quality steak selections for more than 140-years. Las Vegas customers will also be welcomed by Annabelle, the iconic brown and white cow that has been greeting Old Homestead customers for decades.

I looked into the top 10 steak houses in Las Vegas, and Old Homestead ranked up there. It's not too loud nor flashy. There's also a cool story about the architecture in the restaurant (ask your server!) The prices are slightly lower than other places and we split everything, which was a great idea because the portions are just big enough that you won't finish and wasting a bite here would be a crime! Plus it allowed us to have complimentary birthday cake, which was the best chocolate layer cake I've EVER eaten.

The restaurant was great. We hs a weird table by the wait staff station but the ambience of the place was nice. The steaks were amazing and the staff was very friendly. Our waiter had put in the wrong order but sincerely apologized, bought our whole table a round, and fixed the problem quickly. I would definitely recommend this place!

Pretty good steak--nothing to rave about. A little over-done for medium. We had a reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table, which I wouldn't mind except there is no where to sit and wait. Bar was full with folks eating and drinking... Noisy, casino location. Some will like that; others will not. Difficult to chat with friends. Server (Will) was very attentive. Chocolate cake for desert was fabulous!

My hubby and I dined here for the first time as we are looking for a new Vegas resturarant to host a family reunion dinner. The French onion soup was good, Caesar salad poor as it had anchovy in dressing (not listed on menu) filet mignon steaks arrived promptly after appetizers but were overcooked and very salty. Baked potatoe was huge but not cooked in the middle but Mac and cheese was good. We skipped dessert and still had a $200 bill , pretty steep for a dinner with no booze or dessert and a meal that was half eaten. Great service

After watching a Destination America episode on the best burgers in the country, we decided to try the Kobe beef burger while we were in Las Vegas. (Evidently the Kobe beef burger is only in NYC because there was only one burger on the Las Vegas menu). While the burger was good, it was the Tater Tots with Fat Boy sauce that we are still talking about! We also had the apple cobbler for dessert – hot apple cobbler, with ice cream and this amazing cream (milk-shake-style). Everything was wonderful. The entire staff was so hospitable and genuinely kind (esp our server Jose' -- wow! What a server!). I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

Great steak (prime strip, off the bone) cooked just as requested. I wanted some sides and was disappointed they were unwiling to prepare 1 or 2 half portions; want you to order a full and toss most out.....doesn't seem tough to steam less broccoli or fry fewer tater tots, but that's sadly uncommon, even when slow as it was after 10pm on a Tuesday. Service was otherwise good

both my wife and I ordered steaks. Her was good, mine was very disappointing for a $70 steak there was a tone of fat and gristle in it and should not have been. When you go to a supposed high end steak house you expect a good steak.

Steak was pretty mediocre - had the bone in Strip and it was not "2 inches" think as described in the menu. Under-seasoned and not very warm. Friend's filet had opposite problem - too much char. Sides were pretty good - great grilled asparagus. Worst issue is that the front of the restaurant is open to the outside walkway to the casino, it was Mexican new year and a Mariachi band was playing so loud, we couldn't talk at all. Waiter shrugged his shoulder and said nothing they could do. Over-priced even by Vegas standards.

We were seated on the outer rail of the restaurant and it was incredibly noisy... We might as well have been seated in the walkway...people could walk by smoking and talking on their phones. For the price, the setting should have been more intimate and quieter.... Completely overshadowed the food and service...

I love Old Homestead at Caesars. Yes, it's pricey, but so worth it. I highly recommend the colossal shrimp cocktail (delicious), any of the steaks (especially the Gotham rib eye), and a tasty dirty martini. Service is superb. Reservation recommended. Dine early and snag a booth along the entrance side to casino people-watch. For a quieter experience, sit more toward the back. (Additional note: If you're a Total Rewards member, you get marginally lower pricing AND Rewards Points for dining here.)

Asked for 2lb lobster with crab. Waitress said steamed was best. So I said let me order it that way. When it came to the table it was broiled and burned. Something so delicious now is chewy and ruined. They brought a small tail which was better but... taste already ruined from first bad lobster. And they even charged me for the second tail. Wow. Ruined dinner and to make up let us bring another tail and still charge for it. Customer service??? We will give it another try and see if food quality improves. The server was nice. Hostess dresses were so short when one of the girls leaned over to put the menu down my husband and I were in shock... put some underwear on!

Old Homestead had a good wine list. My wife had the filet I had the lamb rack. The filet and the lamb had the minimum of seasoning, probably to cater to the crowd that does not eat out that often. The quality of the meat was not what I would expect from a $60.00 dollar entree. With wine we spent $400.00 and left the restaurant feeling like we spent too much for too little.

The food was all mediocre at best, the service was inconsistent and left a good bit to be desired, the prices are inflated (as you would expect at Caesars) and it is SO loud we had to yell across the table to hear each other. We were in a half booth/half table and those in the chairs constantly felt "in the way" of staff and other patrons. NOT the best choice for my birthday dinner; quite disappointed.
