A word from Old Homestead - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
A bit of East Coast steakhouse tradition is reinvented at Caesars Palace with the Las Vegas outpost of New York City landmark Old Homestead. Brothers Marc and Greg Sherry, whose family has been associated with the original Old Homestead (est. 1868) for decades, let Vegas get a taste of its fine cuts and legendary history.

Complemented by sultry décor, dark woods and burgundy leather booths, Old Homestead's urban dining room and bar feels like a familiar favorite. (The glass wine cellar holding 15,000 bottles doesn't hurt, either.)

Many beloved American favorites are featured here, such as applewood smoked bacon, calamari, Kobe meatballs, warm banana bread pudding and Baked Alaska. Ranging from the New York Strip to Porterhouse for Two, its standout are the famous cuts of meat, selected and butchered with attention to detail that made the original so famous.

I knew this restraunt was going to be overly expensive, but wanted to treat ourselves anyhow. I was a little disappointed to see that the entire restaraunt was visible to passers-by and not exactly as private as I had expected. Never-the-less, we were sat quickly and enjoyed our table placement and our waiting staff. The shellfish dishes that I ordered were exceptional. The steak and salad that my wife odered were not so. Her Filet Mingnon was a little dry and not as tender as expected. Her salad actually had old, wilted lettuce in it. During our visit, two separate parties had complaints about the food and/or timlieness of service that required the attention of the Manager. This is a place to go only if you want to feel important.

Our first time to this restaurant, but won't be our last. The food and service were excellent. Our drink glasses were only half empty before they were refilled. Side dishes are large enough to share. Wait staff very friendly. A bit priced than some other steakhouses nearby.

We had high expectations for Old Homestead, looking at lots of reviews to find the best steak for a special Las Vegas meal. Our expectations perhaps set us up for a letdown. Admittedly we were there at a busy time on Sunday night of a holiday weekend but the service was, at best, perfunctory. The noise level was high not necessarily it seemed from the casino but from the music and general customer din. We were brought hot plates in preparation for our porterhouse for two; by the time the steak arrived the plates were room temp. Yes, the dry-aged steak (lots of char, if that matters) was excellent, the sides were good and desserts very good. But my wife and I decided we would have been just as happy back home at our local Ruth's Chris!

This was myb3rd time at the Old Homestead and once again the food was perfect and the service was forvthevthirdvtime as good as it gets. The waiter and the person assisting him were attentive but not smothering. The shrrimp cocktail is almost a meal unto itself. 3 large fresh very chilled shrimp with a great cocktail sauce, The prime rib is huge and even with a hearty appetite I left more than half unbeaten. Test me when I say I could have kept going because it was perfectly prepared, we shared 1 baked potato and sautéed spinach and had plenty. A great addition to Caesars. Heading back for labor day weekend and will be going back.

Steak was absolutely superb! They did not serve the single malt Scotch which I requestd and the bartender was knowlegable enough, at the urging of a superior server, to recommend another from Islay which he felt was as good. Steak is all dry aged prime. A truly superior experience!

Wow. Great food and great service. Probably the most I have ever paid for an individual meal but I can say the 26 oz. bone-in ribeye was probably the best steak ever. The jumbo shrimp coctail was like a small lobster. I have never seen shrimp this big and tasty.

This is THE MOST EXPENSIVE steak house in the entire country! The quality of the food is excellent, as is the service. $69. For a piece of meat on a plate and $19. For a glass of house wine is ridiculous.

The Ribeye was huge, perfectly medium rare and spectacular. The wedge was delicious and I loved the hint of garlic in the blue cheese dressing. My best pal said her martini was perfect. Our service was excellent and Ryan kept us on time for the show we were seeing. The problem was we were extremely late and had moved our reservations a couple of times as we attempted to find parking. We ended up being seated next to the service entrance-sort of a no mans land-and rushing through a meal that should be a dining experience. This is a do-over the next time I in Vegas.

Everything about this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The seating was very comfortable, we had a corner booth fronting the casino floor. Service was top drawer. Steak was one of the best, and my partner enjoyed her vegetarian selections. We had green beans almondine on the side, and they tasted fresh and flavorful. Last year American Fish offered up the best meal, but this year that restaurant was a disapointment. I hope my visit next year to Old Homestead isnt a let me down.

The food was great and cooked perfectly, however the prices were ridiculous. The menu was priced 15% higher then their NYc restaurant. The service was nothing special, below average for what you are paying. With so many other steakhouses in the area, I'd skip this one next time.

Great food and wine. This is the second time I have eaten here and it was just as excellent as I remembered it. The only downfall is if you sit at the booths which are right next to the casino hallway it is very noisy. Especially if it's late night. It might be better if they enclosed the restuarant more.

The food was fantastic, probably one of the best meals I have had while on the strip. Portions are generous, but not overly filling in a negative way. Even better than the food was the service; from the hostess that greeted us to to the server and assistants in the floor, everyone was welcoming and pleasant. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to wine and dine!

In our 8 day visit to Las Vegas Old Homestead was day 6, with early reservations before seeing Elton John ( Just a short walk across the casino). Everything was excellent from the service being seated to the dessert. I had the Dover Sole which seems strange for a steak house but it was resonable $62 and I'd had steak the night before and was going to have it the night afterwards. Great and diverse wine list which includes some half bottles which is just what I need for my self. I had the same 1/2 bottle of pinot noir as two night previously at Ballys Steakhouse. It was $3 higher ($52) which wasn't out of line. It does add up after a while, since my wife only ate a baked potatoe and with tip ended at $221. Would I pay it again. Yes!

We we're staying at Caesars Palace and decided to try the Steakhouse. I'm glad we did. We brought out 11 year old twins with us for a special treat. Our waiter James was the best waiter I've had at any restaurant in years. He was great with my twins and went our of his way to make sure the evening was perfect. We started with the kitchen sink salad which I highly recommend. Next was the outstanding bread basket which has pretzel, regular, and cheese bread that were all top notch. For our entrees the kids and my wife each ordered the petite filet and I got the 16 oz bone in filet. All were amazing but the bone in filet had a better flavor. For sides we did lobster mashed which I've had better at Mastro's and duck fat fries.

This was our third time dining at Old Homestead. I have had the same opinion each time, which is that it's just not THAT good. The food isn't bad, but it doesn't blow your socks off. Our server was nice enough as were his assistants. I think this place is mostly lacking because of food quality. Also, perhaps there is such a diverse mix of customers then maybe they aren't trying that hard. We probably will not dine here again.

Very loud. Good food. Great service. I'd go again but I would make sure to ask for a private table because we had one on the path to the kitchen I was getting bumped by the wait staff because they had set up a large group beside us and they were socializing and bumping into us. We asked to move and they were extremely accommodating and very apologetic. Went out of their way to correct the problem. Food was excellent. Truffle gnocchi was amazing!
