  • "I have had better steaks elsewhere. Spinach and bisque is a must. Service was impeccable!"

  • "Very good service. Food was very well prepared. But it is pricey."

  • "The seafood tower was a plate on a trivet, not a tower by any stretch. The steaks were good, a bit overseasoned. The overall experience was a good one. The waiter and back waiter were very interactive and informative while not being obtrusive. The sides need to be a bit smaller (was enough for 5 people there were only 2 of us, and I hate waste). 3 out of 5 stars from a New Yorker in a far away touristy place, not too shabby!!!"

  • "I chose this place over Ruth's Chris and I regret it. While the setting inside the greenhouse at Gaylord, the food was a let down. For the asking price of their menu items I expected it to be perfect. We had two issues: 1) the steak tartare - the quality control was poor as there were inedible bits of fat strap and gristle throughout the dish. We brought this to the waiter's attention and they comped the dish. The second issue, 2) was with a mango dessert - it was a mango dessert that, while tasty, was apparently pulled from the freezer. The center was frozen solid and a you couldn't get a fork through it. When we talked to our server he said, "that is how we serve it." Unacceptable. Beautiful setting, great sides, poor quality/value."

  • "The steaks at Old Hickory are always great and cooked well. The service and view is outstanding."

  • "This steak house is located inside the Delta Atrium, so you are dining "outside". The atmosphere is great, complete with gentle breezes and twinkling "stars" overhead. This was not the first time we have dined here, but this is the first time my steak came to the table overdone. After a short debate with our server, (also something that has never happened before), a second steak arrived and it was cooked perfectly. Old Hickory is a great dining experience when traveling to Nashville."

  • "We dined here the last night of our stay at the Gaylord resort. We were not disappointed. The steak was great and the service was top notch!"

  • "We decided to have a dinner before attending the Grand Ole Opry and we were totally disappointed. Four of us ordered medium prepared steaks and each was so well done that it resembled jerky, not a $42.00-$46.00 steak. No moisture was left in any of the cuts of meat. We would have sent them back but with 5:00 reservations, not receiving these until 6:15, time did not permit. The noise level was so high that you could barely hear yourself think, let alone hear the servers. A waste of over $300.00. Sad to say but a fast food drive thru would have tasted better."

  • "We loved our experience at Old Hickory Steak House. We make this an annual event for our wedding anniversary and have never been anything but pleased. Service is outstanding (Glass is never empty), the atmosphere is great and the food is second to none. We already plan on being back next year!"

  • "I almost cancelled this reservation because I thought it would be an expensive dinner that wouldn't live up to the many excellent places I've been fortunate enough to enjoy in my business travel. My family of 4 was passing through returning from Florida & stopped for a night at the Opryland hotel. The wine, Fromager (and his cheeses), Lobster bisque, Filet, Ribeye, Mushrooms, even the Tomato Salad - all fantastic!! Our server, Paul, was also top notch! My 12 & 14 year old kids got a real treat. I've been to Delmonico's, Gibson's, all the Jeff Ruby locations, the chains like Morton's, Ruth's Chris and many others - Old Hickory bested them all. It's a close call in some cases, but the service put Old Hickory over the top!"

  • "My wife and I ate dinner here on a Sunday evening to celebrate our anniversary, there was way more food than we could eat. Our server Amir, was excellent. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Our server's recommendations of the Potatoes Aus Gratin, with a Bleu Cheese was excellent. The Caesar Salad was great. Our drinks stayed full. We had a quiet table beside a fountain. The best part about eating here was being "outside" even though you are eating in the Atrium of the Opryland Hotel. Very nice ambience."

  • "Went for a special date night. What a wonderful dining experience. The only other time I've had something come close was on a 5 star cruise. Highly recommend!"

  • "I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, since it is a hotel restaurant. The Old Hickory Steakhouse far exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and the service was outstanding. My husband and I had an appetizer, steak and dessert. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The appetizer was wonderful. We did order the beignets for dessert and found that this was the one sour note for our dinner. Our waiter told us that the beignets were New Orleans style and they definitely weren't. They tasted like old grease. Other than desert, everything was amazing. We would definitely go back."

  • "Just letting people know you get what you pay for. The prices may be a little high but so is the quality of the food and service. You wont be disappointed one of the best filet Oscar I have had in a long time. My wife had a porterhouse steak and again she loved it. From the au gratin potatoes to the fresh vegetables we enjoyed every bit of our dinner. Followed with a dessert and coffee you could enjoy we had one of our best dinners during our stay in Nashville. To top it off we walked over to the Grand Ole Oprey for a great night of music. "

  • "My wife and I tend to stick to the local trendy places when we're looking to get a delicious meal. Tough luck on memorial day which also happened to be our anniversary. We were hesitant to go to Old Hickory but we are very glad we decided to. I had almost forgot what fine dining was all about. The food was amazing and more importantly the service was beyond incredible. It's not a trendy scene or atmosphere but you can't find service like that of the Old Hickory at any other place in town. Most trendy places leave wanting in the realm of service. Last thing ... get the wine and cheese pairing ... made the meal. "

  • "We picked Old Hickory because it was close to the Opry House and we wanted to treat ourselves to a good steak. The food and service were great, definitely a high-end experience."

  • "We were placed at a corner table and as night time fell upon us, we needed a flashlight to look at the dessert menu as well as our bill. Other than that, it was a wonderful and enjoyable evening. "

  • "The Old Hickory Steakhouse inside the Gaylord hotel is a wonderful experience. The menu is a little pricey, but it is what you expect in an upscale hotel. The portions are kingly and the service is perfect. Celebrated my wife's birthday with one other guest and the bill was $283.00 and the entrée was shared between my wife and I. Don't go here expecting a $15 hamburger. We had drinks beforehand and they were well prepared and delicious. The bar has a wide variety of premium brands and of course the wine selection is huge. One of the best dining experiences I have had since my last visit to the Old Hickory Steakhouse."

  • "The whole evening at Old Hickory Steakhouse was absolutely perfect. The food was amazing, the staff were very polite and informative. We both had a filet which was one of the most tender I've ever had from any of the finest steakhouses in the US. The "Cheese & Wine Pairing" is worth a reservation in itself; Stacey made some phenomenal recommendations & was such a delight! I was raised in Nashville, but never ate here until I moved 4500 miles away - now I can not wait to return!"

  • "The service and ambience are the best part of the restaurant. The food is overpriced and not anything that you could not get a mid-priced steak house. A restaurant of this caliber that specializes in steaks shouldn't be over cooking them!"

  • "Love this place! All of their food is delicious! Always love dining here."

  • "Our experience at old hickory steakhouse was shrouded in mistakes and poor service, making it hard to remember the food. The food tasted good, no better or worse than what you'd expect at a higher end steakhouse. But from ordering drinks to getting our dinner to getting the check, there wasn't a step without a mistake caused by lack of attention or effort from the server. My pinot grigio arrived as a pinot noir, rare steak was medium well, and after paying we were returned someone else's credit card. Unable to get anyone's attention, I had to run off to other tables to find my debit card. Old hickory needs to realize that we are paying a premium for service and experience. Good steaks aren't hard to find. "

  • "We were looking for a place to dine before the Opry and decided on Old Hickory. I ordered the filet and my spouse ordered the broiled lobster tails. I ordered my steak med rare and it came out more medium. The lobster over done. As a side dish we ordered the au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were almost raw in the middle. We voiced our disappointment and the waiter offered to exchange them with another style of potato. Because we needed to head to the Opry we passed on the exchange, but were not charged. The service was excellent. For the price, we were disappointed. They did get us out in time to attend the Opry and it was a short walk through the portico. We also took advantage of the valet parking for dinner and the show. "

  • "this was a terrific way to start our Nashville experience. Their Kansas City strip is in my top 5 steaks of all time. It was a pleasure from appetizers to desert."

  • "I ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, it was cooked rare instead of medium rare. They added more heat and brought it back medium rare. The steak was "chewy" and I doubt we'll eat there again. "

  • "My husband and I have celebrated every anniversary here (for the past 6) and also had our engagement dinner here too... The feeling of being 'outside' when you're inside is unparalleled anywhere!! The Delta atrium is full of beautiful plants, waterfalls, and a little river that runs through it all... There's no where else I would go to be enchanted among the setting, the service, and the FOOD!!! All round pleasure, and I highly recommend this restaurant!!"

  • "Food was very good, but our server was terrible. Almost ruined the evening. Not sure we would go back and we are at The Gaylord four or fives a year for events. This was a business dinner and our server and the service was horrible."
