Old Fort Pub is a charming restaurant with one of the best views on Hilton Head Island. Perched on the banks of the Intra-coastal Waterway, it showcases unrivaled nightly sunsets and a rich history. So named for the adjacent Civil War shore battery, Fort Mitchel, the restaurant’s foyer is decorated with historic photos depicting the “War of Northern Aggression".

Previously featured on The Food Network and in other notable publications, the Old Fort Pub has become a tradition for over 35 years. Guests enjoy Chef Keith Josefiak’s “New Southern” favorites inspired with influences from around the globe. An excellent choice for a celebrating a birthday, holiday or a romantic evening.

The setting is exquisite - on the water with wonderful sunset views. Service was excellent. Very pricey, and we didn't feel the food lived up to the price. We never mind paying a lot if we leave feeling we had a great meal. Our party of four all felt the food was just average. There's a nice porch upstairs where you can take your cocktail to watch the sun go down. Location is on Hilton Head Plantation.

We vacations n on Hilton Head about twice a year and drive from our home in Sea Pines to this restaurant every visit. This time 2 of us had trout and it was superb. I made reservations on Open Table and noted that it was my wife's birthday this visit and they had a birthday cake! She loved that! And we had a great wait in the bar. The bartender is a treasure. See u in April!

The location, the food and the service were all lovely. The beet salad was very unique and tasty. The presentation was beautiful. Also, the pumpkin barley risotto was out of this world. Our waiter, Dan, was always there when we needed something and invisible when we didn't. it was a perfect evening. The only slight disappointment was that it was VERY dark around the restaurant parking lot when we arrived and I don't think we even got to appreciate the setting totally.

The ambiance was great. We got there a little after the sun went down, but still great views. Great place to celebrate our anniversary. The food was very good and the wait staff was very attentive to our needs. The only negative thing I would say about the place is it almost seemed the wait staff was trying too hard. They were always removing a plate or glass or something. Not a big deal, but at times it seemed awkward. Overall I would definitely recommend.

We dined here recently expressly to enjoy the sunset view. The patio was closed, so we had to eat inside, upstairs. There is a 3rd floor deck (climb up a spiral staircase to get to it) where you can take a cocktail and enjoy the view unobstructed. The place is old and very charming. The food was good, but not outstanding. Very enjoyable overall.

We visit The Old Fort Pub every time we're in Hilton Head. That means we've eaten dinner there at least a dozen times in the last 15 years. It's the only restaurant we can say this about - The quality of the food, service, and ambiance are consistently excellent. A table by the window at sunset with an attentive wait staff is always a special treat. We'll definitely be back!

There are many outstanding restaurants on Hilton Head but the Old Fort Pub is easily among the top 5 you'll ever experience. The setting overlooking Skull Creek is spectacular (as are the sunsets); the Menu is exceptional and the food and it's presentation is outstanding. The staff is highly professional, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the food and drink; just might be the best service on HH. You don't want to miss this place when you come to Hilton Head.

Enjoyed a relaxed dinner with friends in a lovely and tastefully restored antebellum restaurant. Over the years, we have returned to the pub for a taste of the old South. As always, dinner selections were diverse and our choices were excellent: halibut sautéed with scallops and shrimp; shrimp with lobster risotto cake; and pot roast prepared southern style. The key lime tart and pecan pie ended a perfect evening!

The food, atmosphere, service and view are all the reasons to visit this great restaurant. We visit at least twice a year during our twice a year trips to the Island and have never been disappointed. I must admit that this trip the portions seemed larger than in the past....especially my pork tenderloin; it proved more than I could handle. We had four guest with us and everyone was impressed and well pleased with their meals. Nice wine selection too with a price point for everyone.

Go ready to eat a four to five course meal. Allow the Chef to select the courses with his daily specials, which never fail you. Plan on an evening of great wine and food, with views that will just enhance the entire experience. Our waiter James was extremely attentive. If you get there around sunset don't forget your camera. Tour the historic civil war grounds and take a trip up to the widows walk.

We've been on the island for a week -- seven restaurants and 14 dinner options. No doubt that the flounder with corn/asparagus/pea risotto was the best meal of the week. Service was superb as usual; what was unexpected was the 20-year old server who delivered it! He ended up escorting me to the car using his umbrella. I never cease to be amazed at the level of service and quality of food that Old Fort Pub delivers. If you only have one meal on the Island, this is where you want to go.
