Diner Reviews
  • "The best good we've had in a long time. We go to restaurants in NYC, Philly and Miami and his is by far one of the best restaurants we have been to in a while. The food was delicious, every dish was exemplary. The cocktails were delicious. This is truly a hidden gen. The gluten free pan de bono was fresh out of the oven and amazing. We will be back!"

  • "Everything was excellent. Would dine there again anytime."

  • "Read all the reviews and have to stick with the 5 starers! Great atmosphere great service outside bar comfortable drinks amazing and every bite of the food a wonderful combo of tastes and textures. We laughed about the "foam" "dust" and smoke elements of our meal but we just want more! Reviewers are right don't sit in the front room it is basically the lobby and a constant flow of people in and out but then again the people watching was one if the best things about being there!"

  • "This was our second time dining at Ola. We are from NJ and getting to South Beach takes a little planning. The service was excellent. The food was original, expertly prepared, and delicious. We will certainly return on our next trip."

  • "Ola is still far and away the best kept secret on Miami Beach. I adore this restaurant and love to take out-of-town guests there. Everything on the menu is delicious and I've tried everything on it, so I speak from first-hand knowledge."

  • "Best Latin food in the country. That's all anyone needs to know. If you are not familiar with the menu, ask the waiters. And don't miss the mojitos!"

  • "The service was exceptional, the food--delightful, creative, and bursting with flavor. Ceviche fresh and bold, pandebono was perfectly crafted, dusted with sugar/cinnamon, the filet was out of this world. I'll be back EVERY time I'm in Miami from now on. Hector, our server, could not have been more gracious or attentive. Outstanding experience overall."

  • "Great spot! Service is excellent. My husband and I were looking for a quiet dinner out. Ceviches are superb - we had the Fire and Ice as well as the Hamachi - very flavorful and beautifully presented. We also tried the foie gras empanadas - Heaven! Great well priced wine list too. Get the chocolate cigar dessert - very whimsical. Would definitely go back next time we are in South Beach"

  • "Great food! We did tapas-style, three courses to share (for two people). It was excellent. Would recommend."

  • "Excellent place for a special occasion with a date or friends. Exquisite food (plates may be on the large side) and great service."

  • "This place is a gem. The servers are very knowledgable and willing to help you with anything you may need. It's a hidden place on SoBe but don't let its lack of extravagance fool you. One of the best restaurants on all of Miami Beach. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We eat here every time we come to south beach. the hamachi could be eaten over and over the fried oysters are always great but they were a little cold along the spinach. My wife had a special fish that was very undercooked and could not be cut she had eaten most of the shell fish and they immediately replaced it with a new dish that had every thing on it My steak cooked as medium rare but the searing process was not just seared to lock in the flavor then placed in an oven but cooked it for the entire time therefore making over a quarter inch of the steak well done and very tough to eat. Dessert was very good with not just a candel but name and number of years. Front of the house service was very good."

  • "We heard about this restaurant from friends that said it is a must and we would agree, it did not disappoint!! Sitting outside on a beautiful evening, great drinks and food. If you go, have the small dish tacos with taro root shells. One of the best things I've ever eaten!"

  • "THe fire and Ice ceviche was spectacular. So were both the corn and lobster empanadas. The short rib empanada was so-so. The meatballs were delicious. The four of us thought is was one of the best food experiences we have had together."

  • "Truly a fine Resturant . Menu is very diverse with a Cuban flair. The King Crab salad was to die . The Cuban pork was top notch too."

  • "We had a fabulous meal at OLA. The waiter had great recommendations which were all right on the mark. We shared a lot of appetizers as tapas and he helped us select just the right amount. The deconstructed key lime pie desert was superb, we still talk about it. Our best meal in SoBe"

  • "Everything is made to order. Fish spectacular. Have to try empanadas and ceviches. Atmosphere lively"

  • "Weather was great so we sat on the patio. It can be a bit tight there, but everyone is out for a good time. Bar is small. Would certainly not want to be seated in the courtyard, as it is essentially outside of rooms. Their speciality is ceviche, and there are lots of choices. We shared the hamachi, which was very fresh and flavorful. Also shared the tender kobe meatballs, a killer non-bacon covered brussel sprouts (shredded with cashews), a squid ink empanada with succulent lobster, and mini tartare tacos in yucca shells. Everything was flavorful and fresh. Drinks were just strong enough. Server was friendly and we were not rushed at all. Would hit there again."

  • "Superb from start to finish. Geronimo devotees of Santa Fe will love Ola at the Sanctuary in Miami Beach."

  • "We tried Ola because we wanted a top restaurant in Miami beach. We tried the mixto ceviche which was fantastic. The roasted Cuban pork was my main entree and I was thrilled with how tender and tasty it was. Would definitely go back. The service was the best of all. Very attentive and pleasant."

  • "The food/service/setting was excellent. No complaints here."

  • "They feature a lot of creviche. Our waiter recommended the yellow tail and it was so right on. My husband had the pork, I had the salmon. Wonderful!"

  • "Felt special, very attentive staff, delicious food---but very, very large portions so would recommend people share things!"

  • "Had reservations and were seated right away. Server was friendly and we ordered drinks. Insanely strong drinks! Cheviche appetizer was excellent, but after that, the server absolutely forgot us. People around us arrived and had food while we waited. Server was missing in action. When he finally spotted us, he tried to cover, but it was obvious he had truly forgotten. My companion's filet was super salty though my fish was decent. Just not what we would expect for the price."

  • "The food is excellent!..server's very knowledgeable..nice space not too big..I've been there three times..Every time I'm in Miami I go...Fun place with a fine dining experience..."

  • "No valet parking as described. Valet lot across the street. When asked the hostess about it. Got a rude response. I hate sitting at a row of wall tables were the stranger next to you is closer than your guest across from you. I do not want to hear his conversation same as I am sure he does want to hear mine. I am not in a dating service line. This destroys any privacy of you meal and totally distracts from the food and service, even if it is excellent. Would not go back,"

  • "Very good food and great setting. Feels like something you found for the cool foodie kids. Bathrooms were a real problem. One only bathroom for the whole place and huge line like a club. Not what you want for a restaurant. Otherwise, a lot of fun!"

  • "I spent a long time researching Miami restaurants on line. This was the first one I booked and it was a winner. The food was über fresh and thankfully varied enough to suit my very healthy diet as well as those who might prefer heavier food. They have tons of ceviches. Hamachi was excellent as was fire and ice. We skipped the empanadas but they looked amazing. My mango salad was fine but husbands roast pork was divine. Best part were the little gluten free cheese/corn rolls that came out hot from the oven at regular intervals."

  • "This was a top notch dining experience, and clearly superior to many other great restaurants in South Beach. Every aspect of our meal was great. Friendly attentive service that did not intrude, terrific inventive cocktails, and the food was superb. The salmon entree was cooked perfectly in a terrific sauce that did not overwhelm, my 'a lo macho' offered a variety of shellfish and grilled fish that was to die for. Try the deconstructed Key Lime Dessert, also not to be missed. I must also mention their great selection of ceviches, we had Fire & Ice, and it set the tone for the rest of a great dinner. On the value scale, you will pay about a hundred a head and it's worth every dollar. We will be back."

  • "I really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Immediate seating outdoors. Wonderful watermelon mojito. The selection of ceviche's was excellent as well as their presentation. We had 4 different orders at our table and each was presented in an interesting and beautiful manner. Main courses did not disappoint. Great fish selection, red-snapper special and branzino were great. Event the few desserts we ordered were interesting and tasty. Dessert portions are big enough to share. chocolate "cigar" and deconstructed key lime pie were standouts! Will come back when next visiting Miami."

  • "3/2/14We had one of our best ever fine dining experiences @ Ola's At The Sanctuary! Go!"
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "Many Latin restaurants in Miami are nice but Ola is exceptional. The food is exquisite and the wine list, unlike many in SOBE, contains many gems for a reasonable price. The service is spot on and very friendly. The only "fault" is that the interior is rather generic for a fine dinning restaurant and does not emulate the refined yet explosive flavors. This is one of the best value for money fine dinning restaurants in SOBE."

  • "This is our fourth time to visit the restaurant in four years and the food is consistently excellent. The service is always professional. Every time we visit Miami this restaurant is on our list to visit. Every item on menu is well prepared and unique."

  • "Food was great. We were four people dinning and had 3 appetizers, 4 main courses and 1 dessert, I can't decide which one was better. Service A+. Definitely will be back even though I leave a little far. A little bit expensive but definitely worth it."

  • "My wife and I are foodies and found this place via some research on various websites. We're glad we did. First, the cocktail menu is great and live up to their descriptions. I particularly liked the watermelon mojito. The apps were excellent and came out shortly after we ordered. Her mixto ceviche was phenomenal as were my beef short rib empanadas. For our main courses, she got one of the specials, a whole red snapper that was expertly cooked and deboned. I got the Cuban pork which was super flavorful and tender. Just awesome. Finally, we finished with a flan-flavored ice cream concoction that was so unique and a perfect end to a superb meal. We just wish we had something this good near us in Boston, because we'd be regulars."
