Diner Reviews
  • "We eat in fine dining restaurants frequently and live in the NY Metro Area. OLA stands among any of them. The Lobster Ceviche was amazing, The cuban braised pork was delicate and sumptuous and the special Mediterranean fish (dont recall the name) was fabulous. The herbs and flavors were delicate and bright - just enough. The service was great - spot on and friendly but not in your face. My only reservation was the deconstructed Key Lime pie. The Key lime could have been lighter (but then again, I am not a key lime fan and not sure why I really ordered it). All in all, fabulous! I will be back."

  • "I went to OLA because I had seen that it got great reviews. It is kind of tucked away on James street in the Sanctuary hotel. We had one of the best dining experiences we've ever had here. We started with the Hamachi and then had the marlin tacos and Kobe beef meatballs. All were outstanding. We finished with the fish of the day "a la macho". Every fish was amazing. The service was great. Would recommend to anyone that lives in or is visiting Miami that is looking for great food"

  • "We tried Ola because of the great reviews and we were glad we did! Located on a quiet street it is easy to walk past this place and not notice it. The feel was energetic and the food had wonderful flavors. The "Fire and Ice" ceviche was perfect, the corn empanadas had a great blend of flavors and the Pork Milanesa was the best pork dish I have ever eaten... and possibly one of my top ten meals ever!! Our waiter name was Hector and he provided excellent suggestions on food and wine pairing and just the right amount of contact. We really enjoyed our meal..."

  • "My husband and I were in Doral for a convention and since it was my birthday, I made reservations at OLA based on reviews on OpenTable and Yelp. I am GF (not by choice!), and the waitress offered great info about menu items, including the bread they serve (they call it Colombian cheese bread but its real name is pandebono-super yummy!) My husband got a huge piece of red snapper (boneless) and I got the pork with yucca mash. Oh my goodness! And we ordered Da Bomb to share for dessert and they wrote Happy Birthday on the plate! We were probably the oldest folks in the place (we're in our 50s) - apparently it's the go-to for 20-30 somethings. Parking was difficult on a Friday night-the synagogue is around the corner but we found a spot!"

  • "Found this place on a whim with Open Table and we were NOT disappointed. Parking is across the street - $10 for 2 hours - but it was totally worth it. Rachel, our server, was so knowledgable and helped us navigated the menu. She suggested some amazing selections. The ceviche was wonderful, meatballs were to die for, Cuban pork was delicious, and we finished with a chocolate cigar and the flan (YUM YUM YUM!). I would definitely come back here!"

  • "The menu was loaded with great choices. The cocktails were great and the service was outstanding. The seafood was fantastic, including the cerviche. The desserts were the best I have had anywhere. I highly recommend this to anyone in or traveling to South Beach. One of the top spots in the country today."

  • "The Lovely Mrs. and I went to OLA for our 3rd anniversary dinner and it was everything the other reviewers have posted and more. A delightfully eclectic menu with Pan-Latin offerings that are sure to please any pallet. If you are visiting South Beach then OLA at the Sanctuary is a gem of a find that will not disappoint."

  • "Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was rich and delightful. Adding to our positive experience, they accommodated us arriving late to a reservation and came out to confirm an additional tip that we left for our waitress because we didn't know the tip had already been included. Very honest staff and creative menu."

  • "We started with the ceviches, both were excellent, particularly my hamachi nikkei. For entrees we had the corvina and the tuna. My tuna was very interesting, served with an unusual goats cheese 'fondue'. It was delicious and beautifully cooked. Good wine list, with some unusual selections. The food and wine were all excellent, and the service attentive, but thought the restaurant lacked atmosphere. It was quiet on the night we visited, so maybe it was that."

  • "Staff was knowledgeable and attentive and the food was the best we had on our 7 days in Miami! Highly highly recommended! Don't be sucked into the overpriced prefab food on restaurant alley! Go to Ola!"

  • "The service was outstanding, present at the correct time but not making us feel rushed or over-served. Very helpful with suggestions from the menu. Robust crowd on a Saturday night but meal was served timely and we did not feel crowded. Food was likewise excellent. Start with one of ceviche's. Filet migon churrasco was our favorite dish but also enjoyed tuna and pork entrees. "

  • "The service was great and we received immediate attention. If you enjoy Peruvian cuisine and or Seafood the Ceviches are heavenly! I recommend ordering a few of them as they are all delicious. Exciting menu with new and fun spins on traditional dishes. Love this place!"

  • "We really enjoyed our entire experience at OLA. Service was fantastic and each course fantastic. Loved the mojitos and ceviches but main courses were wonderful too! I would recommend to anyone. And quite honestly, I'm a picky foodie!!"

  • "The food, the drinks and the service were all excellent! A friend of mine eats gluten free and she had an incredible amount of choices to select- therefore for those with such a restriction this place is a must! Will definitely return when I'm visiting Miami."

  • "My boyfriend and I dined at Ola on a Saturday night. We were late for our reservation we were still seated at an outdoor table right away. We had wonderful service throughout our meal. We started with the ceviche mixto, which was good but not the best I've ever had (the olive made it a little acidic/salty for my taste, and some of the texture of the fish cuts was not the greatest). I was impressed that they were able to leave off the cilantro, though! My bf ordered the tuna, I had corvina "a lo macho". Both entrees were incredible. The fish was perfect, the flavors were amazing. I have to say though, the best part of the whole meal was the pan con queso (my bf is from Colombia and said it was some of the best he has ever had). "

  • "I'm still dreaming about the food at Ola! Everything was fantastic. I had the Fire & Ice Ceviche which was unlike any ceviche I had before. The sensation of cold and spicy was incredible. Next was the Cuban pork - I didn't even need a knife to eat this savory dish. Our waitress was fantastic and explained everything on the plate. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to go back! "

  • "This place get good reviews. Must be folks that have little taste or experience Latin based food. Food was cold, no taste or flair. Service was poor, in fact still waiting on our desert. Ordered a Malbec that pretty sure was grape juice gone sour. Anyway, don't waste your time. Plenty of better spots in the beach, heck at the mall than this dive."

  • "Well, maybe not for the regular SoBe crowd but Ola *is* pricey for normal (i.e. "poor") people. :) Dinner for 4 with one bottle of wine, 2 cocktails, 2 shared appetizers was a cool $500. But the food and service were great. Suitable for a nice dinner when you have out of town guests and want to treat them. "

  • "Went to the restaurant because of its great reviews, but was very disappointed . It seems that the individuals reviewing the restaurant don't know what really good food tastes like. The food is rather average and the noise level is so great that any conversation is almost impossible. One positive.. The waitress was very sweet and friendly. Would not go back.. There are many places like this.. Not worth coming back for."

  • "The food is ok, nothing really amazing, over priced if you asked me but is Sobe so is expected, I don't mind paying a lot for good food but I would never come back to this place, sorry, the staff is really good and polite, but unless you don't mind the loud people (sorry we Spanish are very loud lol) is not a romantic or couple place"
