For the freshest sushi and a nice selection, you can't beat Okura. Aside from its regular menu, they offer an all-you-can-eat sushi menu as well which has a great selection of some of its most popular rolls and plates. From their regular menu, I suggest starting with the miso soup and their garlic edamame. There are many choices, even for a non-sushi eater. They even offer an early-bird special in the bar with a nice selection of dishes to choose from

Outstanding food and service. If you like Japanese food, a must visit while in the desert. Always nice to start off with the Firecracker and then either the extremely fresh sushi and sashimi. The robata grill which you cook yourself at the table is quite good as are all the entrees.

I have been going to Okura for years, I studied Japanese in college (although I know the owners are not Japanese) and this is the closest I have found to have THE BEST sushi, sashimi and Japanese carpaccio. The "All You Can Eat" menu is the best you can find. I love the fact that they offer items that DO NOT contain rice, which nearly all of other sushi bars do. We had another great dinner last night, but did notice that they are scrimping on their portions. For years you would get plump, succulent sashimi items, the carpaccio items although sliced thin were plentiful and large. Last night I noticed a drastic difference in the sashimi/carpaccio sizes, they were 1/2 the size, everything else was perfect.

I am not one to venture to eel when I eat sushi, but this came recommended and it was OUTSTANDING. Get the sashimi sampler and try the Fire Cracker starter. The potstickers are also noteworthy - they are deep fried, so have a wonderful texture. We will be back!

The guys manning the sushi bar appeared to be focused on volume rather than skilled (i've sat at many authentic sushi bars with very skilled chefs) sushi making. I tried the chirashi and the presentation was amateurish, the rice was not good sushi rice flavor, but the fish seemed fresh but hey, i can quickly chop up some sushi grade fish and throw it on top of rice. we tried their rolls but it's the type that has so many sauces on them that you can't taste anything else but the sauces. I hesitate to label folks but it i believe they were korean rather than japanese and i believe the owner couldv'e been indian. never going back. don't know what folks are talking about on their reviews that convinced me to go and try. thanks guys..thanks

  • All You Can Eat had restrictions

    Dined on 9/5/2014
The restaurant was very nice and we were seated quickly. How ever there were two young adults in our party that did not want to have the "All You Can Eat" menu and there was a stipulation that 4 out of the 5 in our party needed to do the "All You Could Eat" and the others HAD to order from the Entrée page ONLY. We thought that was a little unfair as one in our party just wanted Tempura and a California Roll so $32.95 was a little HIGH for that and there was nothing in the Entrée page that suited her either. We feel that those in a party of 5 should be able to select either the "all You Can Eat" OR anything else on the menu without restrictions. Also the price of beer and drinks seemed a little HIGH.

The sushi here is fantastic. I was spoiled with great sushi living in L.A., and it took me awhile to find anything in the desert to compare. Okura holds up--the sushi is as fresh and delicious as anything I've had anywhere. It can be very busy at times, but the food is just fabulous.

We love the sushi at Okura and the good advise that we receive from our servers. On a Friday night it looks like more families show up and the service is a little more strained and certainly the noise level is higher. All in all a great place for sushi , especially on the quiet nights.

Three of us went for an early dinner and ordered a bento box, three rolls and sashimi. Everything was fresh & tasty and the services was wonderful. When the restaurant started to get busier, I was surprised at the number of groups that came in with young children, but they were all well behaved. $108 for three of us, including one drink.

My wife and I were staying in the area for a weekend getaway and were in the mood for sushi. I looked up sushi restaurants in the local area and Okura Robata looked like the best choice. They did not disappoint. The food was fantastic. The service was top notch and the ambiance was fabulous. We ordered the all you can eat sushi. The selection was very extensive and very fresh. The food was brought out quickly as we ordered it so we were not sitting and waiting around. Can't say enough good things! We will be back.

While other sushi restaurants offer an "all you can eat" menu it is generally overloaded with white rice, no way around it unless they charge you for uneaten rice. At Okura they offer a variety of beautifully prepared dishes with an abundance of vibrant flavors that all compliment each other and the best.. sans the white rice. We had the Hamachi Carpaccio which was delicious, delicate pieces of Hamachi topped with a complimentary drizzle then topped with a serrano chili slice, Yumm. The Sashimi Salad is also the best, all without rice. But....if you like rice they have an abundance of interesting rolls and nigiri to chose from. Make sure you make this a stop when in the mood for sushi, you won't be disappointed. PS. Best Happy Hour!
