Diner Reviews
  • "It wasn't easy to decide on an entree but it came down to the risotto with scallops vs. the basa. I chose the basa and it was wonderful."

  • "Our first visit. Food is very good except for steak (which was too salty). Location means few potential customers who are "walk bys" (but Graeters will help bring people here who hadn't already planned to). We'll be back."

  • "Excellent food, great service, and they are willing to customize your order without fuss and without an up charge."

  • "I wish I could have selected "great for outdoor dinning" but I really couldn't. We dinned outside which is something we really enjoy. It would have been more enjoyable if the sidewalk wasn't so slanted. Two of us ate sideways and two ate downhill. It was worth the challenge as the streetscape is pleasing and the food is well above average. We enjoyed our Sunday brunch which offered a plentiful menu. Someone at your table (whose is willing to share) must order the biscuits and steak gravy...it was amazing. The corned beef hash was also very good; made with both white and sweet potatoes with flavorful corned beef. We look forward to our next visit. You won't regret trying Oh Yumm..."

  • "We brought our three young kids and had our own spot in the front. The service and accommodation was great. Nice neighborhood restaurant. Food was good and flavorful"

  • "We hadn't been to Oh Yumm! in about two years but had a fantastic experience. We did all small plates and every single dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The small plates range from $6 to $12 so as a couple we shared six different items for a wide variety of tastes. The desserts were incredible too. The new chef is apparently fabulous! Highly recommend this gem on an adorable street of shops near Meridian Kessler and Butler Tarkington."

  • "Like the food and service is always GREAT! good for small neighborhood dining"

  • "I always forget what an interesting menu Oh Yumm has. I need to come more often. It has a great mid-town location and lots of healthy choices that are really very good. Thanks for creating such a great little restaurant."

  • "Have eaten there for Sunday brunch, weekday lunches and now Friday night dinner. Each experience was great. Food is unique and always good. Cost is quite reasonable too."

  • "Great restaurant. Could have used slightly more salt of food, but added that as needed."

  • "We dropped in for Father's day brunch with our family of 8. It wasn't too crowded, but it took over an hour to get our order. They don't have the kitchen to prepare for such a large group in short order. Eggs Benedict was a hit. Biscuits and gravy, gravy was very tasty, but biscuits and beef, dry."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "The food was local and some organic options. We placed our order and waited 45 minutes for a salad and a cup of soup. The food is very tasty and some creative options too. "

  • "The filet was outstanding. There were many good options on the menu--hard to choose! I always enjoy coming here. The noise level was extremely loud this trip. It's thoughtless people, not the fault of the restaurant. It was difficult for my friend and I to hear each other talk. "

  • "This was our first trip to Oh Yumm! Bistro but it won't be our last. We had guests (food snobs) in from New York and sought this out because of other positive reviews. Oh my. When I say the food was perfect, that is no exaggeration: fried green tomatoes, bistro salad, salmon prepared just so, shrimp and grits that were off the charts, the special fajitas and perfect pasta--not to mention Bananas Foster. Literally the finest meal we have had in a long time."

  • "Oh Yumm! is a good place to go before a play or performance at Butler. The menu is small, but the food is very testy. I like the pea and mint soup. The portions are not large. "

  • "We went on a Wednesday night and asked if there were any drink special - were told about a few beer specials, but not the 50% off bottled wine we saw online - we had to ask about it. It seems all specials should be mentioned especially if asked about a specific category. Otherwise, the service was great and we had a nice evening."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch and the food was very good. The service less so. Waited over fifteen minutes to be acknowledged after being seated. When other patrons who were seated after us started to get their food, asked the hostess if we had a wait person. Guess one hadn't been assigned to us. After that, got service fairly well. Overall, the outside dining is great, the food wonderful, and prices fairly reasonable. "

  • "I hadn't been to Oh Yumm! Bistro for years -- it's off the beaten path and I never thought about it. I will now. The menu is good, with some interesting twists. My wife is gluten free and had the Mahi Mahi tacos, which were great, and the chicken picatta was perfectly done. Good wine selection rounds out the meal. The ceviche-style shrimp cocktail was a great starter, and it looks like there are many other great options. Can't wait for it to warm up enough to eat at the sidewalk tables. "

  • "Great food and service. Oh Yumm Bistro is a gem of a neighborhood restaurant. I will be back!"

  • "One of our party was unfamiliar with this restaurant and uncertain if she would like it. She has become a fan. Service was attentive, but relaxed, and menu offerings ranged from comfortably familiar to innovative. Everything was well prepared and high quality."

  • "My children and I have an Easter tradition, of going to brunch after church. This year, we selected Oh, Yumm! Bistro and we were not disappointed. My daughters had the french toast and the 2-Egg special, with crispy pepper bacon. I had the Crabby eggs, a take-off on Eggs Benedict, with a crab cake between the English muffin and poached egg. Spectacular! We've been here before for a lazy weekend lunch, and had similar praise for their lunch foods. The room is skinny, so there are a limited number of tables, but they expand out on the sidewalk, bistro-style, when the weather permits. And the best part of the meal was the low price-tag. You've got to check this one out!"

  • "I love Oh Yumm. It is my favorite restaurant, not just in Indy., but of all time. Maybe because I feel so comfortable when I walk in knowing familiar faces but also knowing my meal will be wonderful. There are always new dishes to try. My Lamb that I had on Easter was the best ever and the bread pudding for a shared dessert was sooo good. It was made with croissants and had bits if chocolate. I'm panting just thinking about it. In warm weather I love to sit outside. Service is always friendly and spot on. I've had Oh Yumm cater three small parties and they were wonderful. I don't want it to become too crowded so I'm not saying anymore. I'm selfish---don't come and crowd me."

  • "Always a great experience. Consistently good food & attentive, pleasant servers. It's the place to go when you actually want to have conversation with your dining partners and not be overwhelmed by noise as so often happens at other restaurants."

  • "The Short Ribs were very flavorful. the Risotto was tasty but needed some color! We will be going back as the service and ambience can't be beat!"

  • "We have visited Oh Yumm for special family occasions and just for lunch. The food is always wonderful and the service is terrific. Unfortunately I don't live close by so I can't enjoy the Restaurant as often as I would like but when I do dine there I am never disappointed."

  • "We met friends here for an early dinner meal before a concert at Butler University. The menu has a variety of choices including tapas and vegetarian or meat lover dishes. There is a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of some bistros we have experienced in Europe. It was good food and great to have this fine option so close to Butler University. We liked parking in back of the restaurant as well."

  • "I have eaten at Oh Yumm several times and its always a great experience. I truly enjoy the food. I have not had a bad dish there. My only slight criticism was the bottle of bubbly that was ordered could have been chilled more. It was not a show stopper. The dessert was homemade and was incredible as well. You can not go wrong having a meal here."

  • "This was my second visit to Oh Yumm and it was amazing! I took my mother here for lunch. She had the chicken salad wrap and I had the turkey pesto... OH YUMM!!! Both dishes were awesome!! Our waitress was extremely nice and the head chef took time to chat with us too! In short, the service was outstanding. If you haven't been here yet... Do yourself a favor and go!!!!! Thank you to the staff for making this another great visit! All around a+++++!!!!!"

  • "For some reason it was a slow night, so our party of six got the royal treatment. We had several appetizers which were all fantastic. The entire group except for me ordered the same thing; the Grilled Mahi Mahi. Everyone raved about it. Being Fat Tuesday and Carnivale (which translates to farewell to meat in Italian), I just had to have the Wyagu Beef Burger. This is the most juicy flavorful burger I've ever had and it needs no condiments. I've yet to find one anywhere in town or otherwise to compare. Yes....it's an $18.00 burger but oh so worth it. We had several bottles of excellent wine and ended the evening with the ever so popular warm chocolate chip bread pudding. Bravo everyone."

  • "Oh Yumm! never disappoints. Lovely food and prompt/pleasant service are staples at this small neighborhood gem! You certainly won't be disappointed here and we will be back soon. Can't wait for the weather to clear so we can dine outside!!"

  • "nice spot to visit for dinner in the meridian/kessler area near broad ripple. the food is consistently very good and the service more than adequate in this quaint little tucked away restaurant that just the locals know about. give it a try."

  • "The food was tasty and well presented. The linens were pristine and service impeccable. The coffee, however, was pathetic and other diners were loud and made it difficult to hear my companion even though there were few diners in the restaurant. There is of course nothing OYB can do about loud dining parties but improving their coffee shouldn't be that tough."

  • "This was our third experience at Oh Yumm! and unfortunately, it was the least satisfying. One of us had BBQ Shrimp and Grits, which was the best selection of the night. We shared goat cheese, and the crostini were kind of tasteless. The mahi mahi was dry, as were the beans that accompanied them. Our shared dessert, which was a different take on s'mores, was also good but very hard to eat because it was so gooey. Overall, it was a good dinner but not outstanding."
