Off VineDining before theaterThis is a great place to eat before heading over to the Pantages Theater. There is parking across the street at a reasonable rate and after dinner you can walk to the theater only 10 minutes away. Everything about this quaint restaurant is good. We eat here everyone we go to a show.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for theater-goersWe like to dine here before going to shows at the Pantages.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic ResturantAlthough I have been to Off Vine before, I still love their soups and the entries. Their wine selection is excellent and always their Chocolate Souffles are to die for. I recommend Off Vine to anyone.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointsOff Vine never disappoints. It always comes through. The food, the service, the ambience--excellent. Once inside the arbored gate, you could be anywhere in the world--eating deliciousl and beautifully presented food that is served impeccably by an attentive, but not intrusive, wait staff--instead of being in the middle of busy Hollywood. Convenient to the Arclight and Pantages Theatres, the restaurant is perfect for a pre-theatre meal or as a special occasion destination dinner. Romantic and charming--sit outside on warm summer evenings or inside near the fireplace on cold winter ones. Wherever your table choice is, you will not be disappointed.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHollywood Shines!Nice to have Off Vine within walking distance to the Pantages Theatre. Good, reasonably priced parking available and the restaurant staff provide excellent service. Food is very tasteful, fresh and prepared to satisfy the palate. First time there since they had reopened.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBefore the showLocated convenient to the Pantages with $5 parking next door. Food is very good with a reasonable selection and prices that are good for the area. The restaurant is clean and the service was excellent. Mostly tables with one or two half booths, so not as romantic as one might want, but it has a warm homy feeling.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at Off Vine is worthBrunch at Off Vine is worth the drive. Excellent wait staff.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat evening at off vineEnjoyed a great meal from appetizers to dessert. Intimate indoor and outdoor seating. Always a good experience at off vine.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMReally Nice ExperienceWe were attending the premier of "Much Ado About Nothing" at Arc Light Theater. Coming from Phoenix I didn't know the area, but found this restaurant right near the theater and decided to give it a chance. It was a gem of a find. The atmosphere is nice, the outside seating is wonderful with the fencing and vines with flowers and the food was really good. The service was great, we were checked in on by more than just our waiter.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMStill excellentI've dined at Off Vine several times over the last 15 or more years, and they have always maintained high standards. The food is still great - especially the Grand Marnier soufflé! Portions are large enough to share. Good value.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time lunchI have been to Off Vine many times; however, this was the first time I went for lunch. The food is always great, but the ambience was terrific.
If you want to have a good meal on a warm L.A. day I would suggest Off Vine.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurant with great foodI met a friend here on half price Monday. I ordered the pecan encrusted chicken with pear sauce. It was delicious. A nice blend of flavors.
My friend ordered the mushroom ravioli. I had a bite of this too. I was so flavorful. I would definitely get that the next time I came.
I love the intimate ambiance of the restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive, and informed about the menu. Overall we had a great meal.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly Recommended!A great find off busy Vine. Cottage house insulated from busy street with flowers and foliage. Very attentive service, great food and ambiance, very highly recommended!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Off Vine for brunchWe went to Off Vine for brunch with my parents. Our outstanding waiter was more than patient with my idiosyncratic family. The food was very good, too!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch before Pantages3 girlfirends on our way ro see a play at the Pantages and had a breat brunch! Close to the theatre, good food, good service, and cute setting! Would recommend for a pre or post play dining location!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!My husband and took us there for dinner. We had arugula/spinach salad to share and duck sausages for starters, Gnocchi and Blackened free range Turkey for dinner. For dessert we ordered 1 chocolate and 1 grand marnier souffle. We were very happy with everything except found the Turkey to be too dry for our taste and the bread served had been well over-heated multiple times. The Souffle's were our main reason for visiting. Both light and delicious, with the chocolate being moist instead of dry from too much coco... bottom line...we will definitely be back! Thank you for the friendly and helpful staff, they were eager to answer questions and knowledgeable of their products, but not trying to sell you on something you don't want.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGo to place before PantagesThis is a great place for great dining before seeing a show, only one block from theater5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good cuisne in a lovelyVery good cuisne in a lovely setting with excellent attention to service...5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMcute little place, with attentivecute little place, with attentive staff. Each of us was very pleased with our dinner selections5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place for a romantic evening! We, my date and I, loved OFF Vine. The food was very good and the service and ambiance were outstanding. It is a lovely setting, unlike any other in the area. Try the chocolate souffle for desert!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food in a nice settingHad the chicken ravioli for lunch and dined in the outdoor patio. The food was excellent. Bread could have been a bit fresher, but overall not bad. My guest had the salmon and it (looked, anyway) like a great dish. This is a very quaint restaurant with excellent food hidden just a stone's throw from The Arclight, Amoeba Records, and other attractions. Definitely not cheap, but a very nice choice for a business meeting with a small group or a dinner date.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMhidden gemI love this restaurant. The food is wonderful, the service great. The servers really know the menu and the specials and are very helpful.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI was shocked that I haveI was shocked that I have lived in Los Angeles for over 50 years and have not heard of this great Hollywood gem. I will certainly go back. Service was great, ambience unique, and food excellent. Probably the best duck I have tasted in a long time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGenuine Charm ...We were warmly received by the staff at Off Vine the minute we walked up the steps of this charming little place. Off Vine felt like a home away from home, a stark contrast to the over produced ambience a typically associated with Hollywood restaurants. The food was layered and complex, light and subtle, all of our dishes felt as AF the ingredients came from a secret farm behind the building. While we had wished for a more dry and acidic, crispy white wine given the open air seating, we were perfectly happy with the Prosecco and Zinfandels offered. My wife, who's not a vegan, had the vegan chicken and it was fantastic. Order a desert soufflé at the time of your entree order. A highlight desert to end a delightfully breezy evening.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique gemWe called when we knew that we were going to be late, and they were very nice and said that they would hold our reservation. The food was yummy, and the service was fast and friendly. We used the valet parking next door and walked the 2 blocks to the Pantages for a matinee show, which made things super convenient.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's goodThis is a charming old hollywood house converted to a warm and friendly restaurant with good food and a friendly staff. We keep coming back.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMYumWe went there before going to see a play at the pantages. I made the reservation on open table and they called to confirm the day of. We had a group of 6 and our server was very attentive and very knowledgable on the wine list. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The only thing I would suggest is making sure you save plenty of time for dinner. Our food took quite a while. But everything else was perfect!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMPer-theater diningGood spot for per-theater dining for Pantages, Arclight or Dolby. Nice patio for good weather days. Food is very good and service is attentive. If you are a soufflé fan definitely try the grand marniere; chocolate not quite as good.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMJust had the most lovely lunchJust had the most lovely lunch there. I had a great salmon salad, really far too big, but as I recall I ate most of it!
The patio is comfortable and pleasant and a treat in the middle of Hollywood. The waitstaff were attentive without hovering-perfect.
I had been there previously for dinner and chose to go back for lunch and was happy to repeat my great experience!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time.. recommend it to friendI need a place to have a quiet business meeting close the freeway. A friend recommended Off-Vine. Both attendees were not from LA. So we both got a meeting and they got a star seeing moment and a true Hollywood experience. The meeting and business was great. Thank you for providing the setting.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect birthdayThis is my wife's favorite restaurant, so we celebrated her birthday there. The food and service were impeccable, and the chocolate souffle is heavenly.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMQuiet in the Heart of Hollywood! What a pleasure to sit outside on a lovely patio, eating excellent food at surprisingly reasonable prices and have a peaceful heart to heart conversation with a companion. No shouting over the "vibe," no waving down waiters, no overly designed dishes. Just simple, excellent service and food in a lovely, quiet setting.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceOff Vine has been one of our favorite restaurants for many years. We've even had a number of private events, and one New Years Eve dinner there. In EVERY case, it borders on perfect. The service is classy, as well as outstanding, and the food is plentiful, and very well prepared. The presentation is also quite nice. Highly recommended.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA lovely place to take a friendA lovely place to take a friend for a Birthday Lunch! It was chilly outside and we ended up sitting by a fire in the fire place. Fabulous!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNEW Favorite!!The OFF VINE is fast becoming one of my five(5) favorite restraints in LA.
I beginning to crave two (2) of The OFF VINE dish (Pecan Crested Chicken & The Vegetation Suffered Bell Peppers for an appetizer) at least every other week. Everything we have had at OFF VINE has been DELECTABLE & DELOUSES.
I dinned in the Garden Patio this tine. It was DELIGHTFUL!!! Sweet tiny white lights and areas that make one feel VERY PRIVET. I recommend this area for ROMANCE & for quite talks.
The service is not quite as attentive as it has been inside BUT would be really GREAT for lovers.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a pleasure to have aIt's a pleasure to have a leisurely brunch at this friendly spot. Quality and quantity are part of every dish, and there is never an attempt to rush you.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time visitingThis was my first time visiting this restaurant with my wife. It was a gem of a place . . . especially if you like historical "Craftsman" Style homes. This restaurant was once a home that was converted into a restaurant . . . the restaurant, therefore, has plenty of charm. Everything on the menu was appealing, the service was spot on and the food was fantastic.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first time at this restaurant. My first time at this restaurant. Small and cozy. Close to Pantages Theatre. There for brunch and then to see a play. Good eggs benedict for brunch.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Off Vine just beforeWe went to Off Vine just before theater reservations. This is a cute house converted into a restaurant located a ways from Hollywood Blvd. It is a good distance from Hollywood Blvd. so don't make plans to walk to this restaurant and go to the theater. We were there for brunch and the location and menu was perfect. Heavy on the breakfast entrees but listed were a couple burgers and sandwiches which qualified it for "Brunch". Food was good and portions were generous. Service was great. Lots of hipsters enjoying outdoor dining in an otherwise busy area of Hollywood.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood for a "pre-Pantages" dinnerOff Vine is a great choice for a "pre-Pantages" dinner. The atmosphere is unique compared to other restaurants in the area. Off Vine is a converted home behind condo towers and retail stores. We had a group of 7, and this party size was a good fit for their large round table in the front room in front of the fireplace. The food was satisfying and lived up to the "California American" description on their website. The carrot & ginger soup was a great choice for a starter before the turkey meatloaf. Be sure to ask your server about the dessert souffle when you order your dinner to account for the longer preparation time. Great choice overall!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location and food pre theaterWe found this restaurant to be conveniently located near the Pantages theater. The menu offered a wide range of delicious selections and specials. We enjoyed the ceasar salad, yummy chicken marsala and the gnocci. We finished with a chocolote souffle, all incredible! The wine recommended by our server, an Austrailian Shiraz was perfect! Our server asked if we were going to the theater and paced our meal perfectly to allow time to walk to the show. One recommendation I would make is skip the valet parking and park on the opposite side of Off Vine. We were charged $5 for valet and an additional $5 for theater parking (which is still a bargain) but the other lot next door, is a flat $5 rate. The valet was very slow is car return.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have wonderful serviceWe always have wonderful service and very good food here. The host greets guests with warmth and enthusiasm. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. It never disappoints!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for an anniversary dateWent for an anniversary date and it was the perfect place! There's romantic indoor, dim light, seating and outdoor patio seating depending on the weather and preference! The servers are very attentive! The food is delicious! They only serve beer and wine. I would recommend Off Vine to anyone looking for a date night restaraunt or just a cool place to eat!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWill definitely be back!Charming best describes this 1900's bungalow tucked in off Sunset. I appreciated all the beautiful spring flowers scattered here and there in the dining room. The beautiful smell of jasmine as you walk through the arbor was a nice start to the evening. Cozy and charming warm wood floors, small fire in the fireplace, impeccable service, friendly, warm, inviting.
Food was above average - we had the braised short ribs and flat iron steak. Also tried the blacken shrimp, Off Vine and Caesar salads were delicious. The chocolate souffle was heavenly. Nice sparking peach wine and a glass of Moscato were delightful - light and refreshing.
Very easy parking, several valet options in the area and a good place to dine before the theate4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for dinner orGreat place for dinner or before theater. Great outdoor dining or indoor by fireplace4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe absolutely love Off Vine.We absolutely love Off Vine. The food is delicious, excellent service, love the atmosphere and adore the house that is used for the restaurant. We have been twice for half off Mondays and once for brunch on Sunday. Every time has been awesome and the dinner prices on Monday are unbeatable for the quality and quantity.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a fabulous meal andAlways a fabulous meal and staff! We always bring our out of town guests to Off Vine.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMRetureing Often!!!I had such a DELIGHTFUL time the first time I visited "Off Vine", I just had to return.
I tied a number of menu items, all were SUPERBER. Their sauces are delectable.
The Salmon with cherry's is remarkable. Both the Stuffer Bell-Pepper and Pecan Crusted Chicken are ADDICTIVE.
The Off Vine's Monday specials are a TREMENDOUS VALUE.
Off Vine has a lovely patio for dinning and is very, VERY ROMANTIC.
The only problem with Off Vine is the terrible parking but it is across Vine Blvd from The Ark-light.
I will DEFFINATLY be returning to eat often at The Off vine.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent.Everything was excellent. Ensure you order the souffle at the beginning of your meal, as it takes extra time to prepare but is to die for!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe re-visited Off Vine afterWe re-visited Off Vine after a break of a few years. It was a popular spot of ours when we were dating and we returned again for an anniversary dinner. It was just how we remembered and we were very happy that we decided to go back again.
I had the spinach and arugula salad followed by the salmon, and we had the chocolate souffle for dessert. All the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was excellent - can't wait to go again.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
