  • "Off the Hook was SUPERB!!! It was great, great, great, from the moment we walked in the service was outstanding and staff was super knowledgeable about the wine and fresh fish selections. The ambiance was perfect for either a night out for a special occasion or a nice meal with the kids. The appetizer sampler platter was a great mix of different flavors that all complimented one another. The ahi tuna done sesame style was insanely good and the swordfish Parmesan was delightful. The bar was not just a bar but a nice place to retreat for another drink after dinner. Next time we'll hit the oyster bar! OFF THE HOOK is the newest and freshest seafood sensation, can't wait for out next date night !"

  • "This is an upscale sophisticated restaurant that can compete anywhere! Seafood is their specialty and you can have it prepared in any number of interesting ways. I had scallops with crab, my friends had the seared tuna, and my husband had the black grouper with chorizo--all were delicious. The service was impeccable: attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere is sleek modern and quite chic. The prices were actually reasonable, especially given the quality of the restaurant. We will definitely return and recommend Off the Hook without reservation."

If you are not a true lover of all types of fish, do not come to this restaurant. The only downfall to the restaurant is that it is not overlooking a harbor or other waterfront - this is easily overlooked."

  • "We went to an early seating, which was quite full on Friday. Every aspect of the meal was delicious, from the warm tasty rolls at the beginning through the carrot cake dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed the crusted parmesan Alaskan halibut. The courses were well timed, accompanied by helpful, friendly service. The affable owner stopped by our table and chatted about her husband's passion for finding fresh fish around the world. While one of the more expensive restaurants in this area, I thought the price was competitive with other good restaurants in the city and provided great value!"

  • "Unfortunately, I was unimpressed and had a subpar experience at Off the Hook. Aside from the horribly seasoned meal that I ordered, that wasn’t the only complaint. Our waiter was awful; we were sat next to another table in which case we were able to hear the specials they had for the evening, which was being told by another waitress. Our server gave a quick rundown of what was on the menu. The server then left for long periods of time and we didn’t see him after our meals were brought to the table. Overall the food was mediocre and the service was terrible for a more expensive dinner. I will never dine there again."

  • "The food and service at Off the Hook is excellent. This was our third visit and we brought guests. There was a small delay in getting our table and we were offered an appetizer plate gratis. This was a great gesture. The oysters are incredible! I am so picky about where I can trust oysters and this is a safe bet for the best. The mussels in lemoncello sauce deserve a James Beard award."

  • "Off the Hook was everything I had hoped it would be. Upon entering the restaurant, we decided to sit in the bar area and have a few drinks while we waited for the rest of our group to join us. Well,3 dozen of oysters later ( best ever since my trip to Boston), a large portion of lobster nachos, muscles, followed by a round of oyster shooters; left us quite full. The bar menu was amazing as were the happy hour prices ( both food and drinks). We decided to come back another time to sample the food in the main part of the restaurant. Service was outstanding and most accommodating since we changed plans mid oyster to dine in the bar. We are all looking forward to our next visit. Desserts created by the 'in house pastry chef' were wonderful."

We were a large party and the service was attentive, efficient. If you are staying near Cranberry Twp, PA, it's worth booking early and driving the 10mins to visit this restaurant."

  • "We had reservations but waited for 25 minutes before we could be seated & then another 10 minutes before a waitress came to our table. Management sent over the trio appetizer to apologize for our wait. This certainly went a long way in making up for the inconvenience. Our waitress was waiting on a large party so she was not as at tentative as we would expect in an upscale restaurant, however our meal was absolutely delicious and we will definitely return and give it another try. We dine out often and ambience at a restaurant is an important part of the experience too, and we loved the look of this restaurant . Definitely hope to add this place to our list of favorites. We will check it out again."

Our diner party of four included a local celebrity chef (who can often times be very critical of the food and its presentation) and all four of us had an outstanding dining experience. Off the Hook offers an extensive selection of fresh oysters and their fresh fish entree options are outstanding. We each ordered different entrees. All of the dishes (appetizers, entrees and desserts) were outstanding and the presentations were, in a word: PHENOMENAL! The wine list is quite extensive in terms of both selection and price. The decor and atmosphere is modern, refined and upscale. A great place to dine for a special occasion. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "It feels like a very happening place when you enter the restaurant. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. Two of us ordered the salmon special of the night. The preparation was very good but both of us felt the salmon was underdone. We were told it would be medium rare but it was rare. That was a little disappointing. Otherwise everything was delicious. The side dishes are great for sharing. Lobster mashed and grilled asparagus were both great."

  • "Three friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at Off The Hook. The restaurant is chic and stylish. We loved the many windows and the white tablecloths. Everyone with whom we talked, Lisa, the owner, Beth, and Michele, our server, were exceptionally friendly, making sure that our experience was as perfect as they could make it. The food was exceptional. We all ordered a crab cake, which was meaty and mildly flavored, no "filler". The coconut rice was fluffy, a nice complement to the crab cake. The seaweed salad that accompanied the crab cake was wonderful, the dressing, delectable. I would highly recommend Off the Hook."

We dressed up, and were pleasantly surprised to not be overdressed. A reservation is a must. The seafood is amazing and my husband'a filet was perfect. The wine list is extensive, the service top notch, and the food was worth the price. This is a place you must try, but plan shreds and don't show up in jeans and a hoodie."

Everything was done perfectly,sauces were extraordinary and all was served promptly. Wine list is well beyond adequate. Service through our whole experience was top notch. Owner stopped by and gave us her family's history in the business and made sure we were well taken care of. This whole adventure cost $138 without tip.In summary, the food and service are excellent but somewhat overpriced for a place with a setting that only offers a view of the parking lot. Happy hour here is a stand out in the Cranberry"

Our only disappointment though extremely minute was the Cajun cauliflower. It was a little overpowering to accompany the delicate favors of our seafood selections. Service was impeccable! Although it is a little pricey I would go back in a heartbeat and often. Also I was not a huge fan of how close together the tables were. I could overhear the couple next us the entire time so I'm sure it was the same for them. Hear they have a fantastic happy hour so we will be sure to check that out very soon!!!!!"

  • "Well you might as well be if you eat at this great restaurant! Fresh fish flown in daily, beautifully prepared, wonderful wait staff -- it doesn't get any better for seafood. The former owners of Monterey Bay have brought their expertise to this relatively new restaurant with great success. A great raw oyster bar, and super wine list. The crab cakes are hands-down the best you will find anywhere -- and I am pretty picky about crab cakes. The tuna sashimi is another top favorite. Off the Hook is a tad pricey, but the quality can't be beat. If price is an issue then don't miss their happy hour, which is a great value. Either way, you won't be disappointed."

  • "We were a group of 4 diners. We decided to try this relatively new establishment as it was receiving great reviews in a really limited true FRESH seafood market. No disappointment as the food was outstanding from start to finish, the service was great and I feel was excellent value for the pricing. Very nice selection of fresh oysters not often found in the entire Pittsburgh area and many FRESH fish recipes as well as enough good "non seafood" choices as well for those not fond of seafood. Highly recommend for anyone in the Pittsburgh area to give this place your time and money....well worth the drive!"

Of course, the view wasn't as good. :) We were looking at a parking lot in Warrendale. :( Our table for two was right in the entrance to the dining room and very close to another table for two and it was difficult to not overhear each other's conversations... a bit akward. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Would definitely go there again for a special occasion but we may be a bit pickier in requesting where we sit."
