I had the Chilean sea bass with the mojito preparation. Everything was cooked to perfection and extremely fresh. My wife had the Halibut with the tapenade preparation and it was equally as good. Her dish came out wrong but was taken care of by the wait staff right away. It was no big deal considering we were splitting our dishes to sample both. They had a special for dessert were if you bought a 4-piece house made truffle box then the restaurant would purchase a pair of shoes for a person in need, which we could not pass up. The waitress we had knew her products and pairings as well as kept our glasses full. If I had to say one bad thing it would be that the price is a little steep for the portion size, but I can also understand paying extra for such high quality product.

What a gem we have in the North Hills. Outstanding food and unbelievable service. They accommodated special requests that were mentioned casually to hostess on the phone. When we arrived, our waiter knew exactly who we were and what we needed.

So my husband and I were planning on going out to dinner for our anniversary, but I ended up having oral surgery the day before. We were unsure of how I would feel and if I would be able to eat so we didn't make any plans. A 7:30 opened on Open Table and I grabbed it... and boy am I glad we did! We have been told that the restaurant was good, but that is an understatement. From the moment we walked it, the service was great. The hostess was excited that we were able to get a table and even noted on our slip that it was our anniversary so that we would receive a complementarity dessert. I was also given an ice pack for my face to work on the swelling. The food was amazing, the staff was awesome, and this is a place we will visit again!

Upon prior lunch experiences, I opted to try to impress my bride by taking her here; which is getting increasingly harder to achieve as the years go by. The catch was we also took our 3 young kids. Booking online 4 days prior worked flawlessly all the way to importing to my smartphone calendar. We arrived 10 min early. Upon arrival our reservation was acknowledged. We grabbed drinks and waited. I could observe this place was packed (fri night) and realized there was a delay. We were seated 30min late but service was impeccable. We were even given a free app for our wait. All in all perfect night, perfect food, and perfect service. Our kids were made to feel welcome too. Very memorable.

I am not one to post a review, but I needed to share this info. We were celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary and really looking forward to a great dinner. We sat for 15 minutes before our server greeted us. I was not given a wine menu. She returns with a the wine menu, finally, and goes into another 15 minute disertation on the menu. I had already read the menu b.c I had been sitting for now a total of 30 minutes. She then takes our drink order AND our dinner order at the same time. The food was delicious, but I found the waitress to be extremely unpolished and almost similar to a cafeteria worker at my sons school. The booth was so uncomfortable and unstable as the man behind me kicked it all evening. Will not return

This was our first experience at Off The Hook.......service was outstanding, knowledgeable, pleasant and experienced. LOVED the décor and atmosphere, and the food was delicious! The staff never made us feel rushed even though the restaurant and bar were PACKED!!! That said, the ambiance and menu are better suited toward the adult palate (which was also a plus for us)!! Unfortunately, there was a serious health emergency at the table directly next to us, but the staff took immediate control of the situation without engaging the entire rest of the restaurant. "Our hats off" to the staff and owner!! We'll be back!!!!!

Outstanding experience. We notified them ahead that we had a gluten allergy. They had gluten free bread when we were seated and explained very well which meals could be prepared gluten free. The seafood was prepared excellently, moist and tasty - not over cooked. All aspects of the meal were great. Although pricey, it was an excellent value.

Most of the restaurants in the North Pittsburgh metro are, to put it mildly, disappointing. When you live in a place where the epicurean standard is fries and coleslaw on a burger, and there are three marginal pizza joints on every block, I suppose that's what you should expect. Off the Hook is a major upgrade for Cranberry, PA... and even though it is a sister of Monterrey Bay on Mount Washington, it is sans the pretention. Now there is a restaurant in my hood for important business visitors and out-of-town friends.

My wife and I went to Off the Hook in Warrendale/Cranberry for her Birthday. The service, food, and atmosphere was outstanding. They even did something special for her dessert. Exceptional food, start to finish. We had the Ichiban and Crab Cake appetizers. There is almost no trace of filler in the crab cake. Outstanding! My wife had the Mediterranean Style Salad and ate it slowly to savor every bite. I had the French Onion Soup. The three cheese variety was flavorful and stayed hot the entire time I ate it (slurpped it?). For our entrees Cathy had the swordfish and loved it. I had the Big Eye Tuna. It was a huge piece of fish and was unbelieveably tasty. It was pan seared with seasame seeds as a coating and presentation element. The full flavor of the fish came through. Best Carrot Cake Ever. Maybe not THE best I've ever had, but it was delicious. Do not miss this gem of a restaurant!

We took our friends to OTH for their 40th anniversary on a busy Saturday night. We were shown to our table right on time. It took a few minutes for our server to arrive but once there, he was ready for our drink order. Serving us our drinks, he told us about the specials and asked if we had any questions. We asked to have a few minutes as we wanted to talk a bit. Giving us time was no problem. We placed our starter order, and asked a couple of questions about the wine list. Two in our party ordered the halibut parmesan style, the salmon special and I had the Chilean sea bass on macadamia nuts. All were great as well was the seafood sampler appetizer and oyster. Bottom line - somewhat noisy, very good service and GREAT food!

It's great to have a quality dining experience in the North Hills. The atmosphere and the food are both very good, you would need to go into town or one of the urban areas to find similar food quality. It's a nice environment, and the tables are spaced nicely so even though the room is larger, it does not feel crowded. We had a great waitress, service from everyone was excellent - very high marks. Prices were fair taking everything into consideration.

The food was very fresh tasting and delicious. Portions were decent. Did not care for the way the side dishes had to be ordered for the whole table. The service was outstanding. The lighting could have been just a little brighter. All dark colored décor with dim lights is not my preference. I love good service and I would come back because of the service. If I don't return, O the H will do fine...the place was very full. Four others and I go out to dinner all over the Pittsburgh Area once a month. We have been doing it for years. I have many experiences to compare O the H to. I would recommend O the H only to certain select friends who I know would appreciate the experience. I did an online menu check so I knew the prices before hand.

This restaurant is excellent! Every time I go there the dishes are interesting and the service is great. There is no other seafood restaurant in Pittsburgh that comes close and in all of my travels in the US I would say this is one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever eaten at. The advantage that Off The Hook would have is that I have eaten there more than 6 times now and every time is great from bread to dessert.

Overall experience was satisfactory. Steamed clams were way too salty, but crabcake appetizer was excellent. Asparagus on swordfish was not cooked thoroughly and bernaise sauce was acceptable but not great. Swordfish was also amazing as was the sea bass with macademia nuts, even the leftovers were great the next day. Had some trouble parking (not enough handicap places), and wine list was extensive but did not have much to speak of that was not Californian. Service was on the slow side.
