Diner Reviews
  • "The staff was helpful with wine choices and offered to customize any dish."

  • "My wife and I were visiting our son who recently moved to Denver from NJ. We were pleasantly surprised when we found Odyssey. The food was terrific and the service was excellent. Ignacio treated us like family from the moment we walked in the door. My family is very picky when it comes to Italian food as we're Italians from NJ where great Italian food is a mainstay. Odyssey would fit in fine! We will dine here every time we visit Denver and you should too!"

  • "Never knew this place was here, but had an amazing 1st anniversary dinner here."

  • "We wanted to host a group at The Odyssey, so had to try it out first to make sure it would work. It's on busy 6th Ave just east of Pearl. The first hurdle is finding a place to park. There are onlt two spaces out in front, and they can't reserve them for their use. Other than that, you have to find a spot in the crowded neighborhood. We would have given the restaurant five stars, except we found what looked like a hair on the bread they served. It turned out to be a bristle from the paintbrush they use to butter the bread. When we got our complimentary salad, there definitely was a hair in it. To their credit, they apologized and comped my wife's meal. Bristle and hair aside, the food was excellent. Try it, but watch your meals."

  • "Great neighborhood restaurant and fantastic italian food. We went on a double date with friends and had a great time. Fantastic food and service we will be back!"

  • "It was our wedding anniversary. Started off with special attention given to us by staff. Friendly staff seemed to over exaggerate their attention. Initial waitress clueless when asked questions about drinks other than the wine list. Drinks were amazing. Should be for price. Had to request a new Caesar salad due to it coming out very soggy. Had to ask for more drinks, cracked pepper for the bread oil/vinegar, and remind them we needed to order our main entree. The alcohol completely wore off 2 hours later, when our meal arrived. Tables around us, seated before us, received meals and left before we were served. Ask to have our meals boxed up after they arrived. They did comp desserts. I am upset that is the memory I have for my anniversary."

  • "This was my first time at Odyssey Italian Bistro and it is quite a charming restaurant and a great neighborhood gem. I don't live in the area but I would imagine folks near the area would love the walk to the restaurant. We had amazing service and the atmosphere was great. We had the Veal Piccata and Chicken Saltimbocca. The veal was a little too think and had a little too much flour and wasn't as crispy as one would hope; a little too "floury" if you will. The chicken was excellent. The Caesar salad was delicious and the cheese tray and bread were wonderful. We had a cannoli for desert and it was amazing. Overall I would definitely come back here to eat."

  • "It is rare to find so many compelling dishes AND be matched up with great service, excellent wines, and the vibe of a family homecoming! When in Denver, swing by and check it out. if you live in Denver, what are you waiting for?!?!"

  • "I brought my project team here for an appreciation dinner, and we all greatly enjoyed Odyssey. The service was stellar, and the good delicious. Odyssey is charming. I highly recommend it."

  • "We actually found Odyssey on open table while looking for an Italian restaurant with a lot of seafood options. It sits right on the corner of Pearl and 6th ave, and we had the joy of sitting outside on a wonderful, clear night. The service was amazing (I believe our server was Michael), and even though it was a dinner with old friends that lasted 3 hours (in true Italian fashion) we never felt rushed and our server was always attentive to our needs. The food tasted great. I had the fisherman's platter and my wife had the carbonara. If you're looking for unpretentious Sicilian (lots of seafood) with a great atmosphere, I highly recommend Odyssey. And if it's nice, definitely sit out on their patio. We'll be back for sure!"

  • "If you have not been to Odyssey, get in there - what are you waiting for? Every time we go to Odyssey, it does not disappoint. Michael, his staff, the food, the ambiance and the wine selections are over the top. I never eat lamb, but I stepped outside my boundaries and tried the rack of lamb recently. It was so awesome, I think I will order it every time I go there. What a great restaurant!"

  • "We have been to Odyssey several times. What keeps us coming back is Michael, the owner, and his enthusiasm for what he does - which is create a great atmosphere for serving great food and wine. He makes you feel like you are the only customer in the house. His attention to serving you while making your meal as personal as possible, makes the entire experience special. Knowing that we enjoy wine, he shares new wines he's found, and tweaks our food choices to compliment. Haven't had a dish that wasn't unique in some way."

  • "We had a nice evening, food was wonderful, service was great. The noise level was too intense for me. Otherwise everything was terrific."

  • "I've been waiting to let the moment pass and decide if I really felt this way. I do. Last Wednesday we had one of our best dining experiences ever at Odyssey, or anywhere for that matter. Our plan was dinner for two, but at the last minute we changed it to be four of us. My spouse says over my shoulder the word to use is "unique". My mantra throughout the evening was, "I've died and gone to Sicily!". Odyssey is unique: in its scale, cozy; in its food, luscious; in its service, personal; and in the fact I know nowhere else in Denver quite like it. We have been back several times. Our friends are all going. If you go we'll have a harder time getting in, so why say this? Because they've earned our kudos and deserve success."

  • "This is a wonderful and unique restaurant. It feels just like you are being welcomed into a friend's home for dinner. Only this friend is a master chef with mouth-watering recipes. And the host has a selection of the perfect wines to go with each menu selection. The dried roses decorating the dining rooms and the fresh ones on the table add an additional luxurious touch. A member of our party described the aroma coming from the kitchen as "food perfume"! What a delight for the senses. Additionally, the service is seamless and the pace is wonderfully leisurely. Can't wait to return."

  • "in a neighborhood Italian spot. We went on a Monday night with another couple, with reservations at 7. The place was PACKED. We had no trouble with our table and were seated immediately. Our server, Emma, was very informative, friendly and helpful. Somehow I got the sense that she was new, but no matter...she worked out for us very well. The atmosphere was romantic, with lots of fresh cut flowers, Italian music playing in the background (albeit a little loud), white table cloths. We were seated inside, but the outdoor patio looked nice. Although, personally I think I prefer inside, since it's right on busy 6th Avenue. I was not experimental; I had the chicken parm and it was excellent. The owner and son make everyone comfortable."

  • "Thanks again for a great evening. It was our fist time upstairs in the original house. Nice. Great staff as usual. This restaurant doesn't rest on its laurels, they always deliver."

  • "They did not honor our reservation. We were seated 35 minutes after our reservation time. The wine list was sparse and they were out of many of the wines. The food was mediocre at best. It looked pretty but was lacking in flavor or any notable zeal. Our pasta was even over cooked. Not a great representation of American Italian cuisine. "

  • "Excellent service began when we walked through the door! Our table wasn't quite ready. While we stood, waiting, we were asked several times if we had been helped. The owner -- who was in the dining room during our short wait, and after we were seated -- was engaging us in conversation throughout. We felt welcomed. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, the food was wonderful and ample. The owner's son, Michael, is a gem. After 7 years of restaurant-auditioning, we have found the prize!!"

  • "Best Italian food we've had since our Italian vacation. The owner and his son came over several times to check on us and and made us feel at home. The waitress, Emma, was extremely attentive and said she works there because they make her feel like family. Told her they made us feel like family...after only 15 minutes. Wine selection outstanding and salmon dish was excellent. Can't wait to return. "

  • "It's been months since we've been back. The service was great first time around - but the food was bland and not well prepared. We decided to give it another go based on reviews here. We were pleasantly surprised to find our neighborhood place has a taken a turn for the better. The calamari was amazing. The salads were fresh. My husband had the veal marsala and I had the osso bucco and they were both very well prepared and tasty. And the fresh vegetables were light and crisp - not overcooked at all. Nicely done!"

  • "Some minor confusion when we arrived (our reservation was for 6:45 and they had us as a 6:00 no-show) was quickly resolved. Food was excellent as was the service. No complaints at all. Excellent choices of wines by the glass and entrees. Service was friendly and effificient. "

  • "The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced, but the service made it an impeccable experience. Our waitress, Hilary, was very knowledgeable on every aspect of the dishes. The chef personally thanked us as we left, which topped the experience. Odyssey is truly a great place yo go for great authentic Sicilian cuisine and top notch service."

  • "This is a great find! Small in size but big on flavor. If you enjoy Italian foods this place is a must go. Parking is a little tough but worth the time. My wife and I had wonderful time and the staff was on top of the service. Large portions made with care. Mike our server was there when needed with great suggestions and descriptions of sauces and foods. "

  • "I will admit it was very busy when we arrived. Our reservations were at 6:30, and we had to stand in the bar area, which was very crowded. We were in everyone's way. We got our drinks and chatted for a bit and got seated about 7p. We ate, drank, talked until 11p. It was a great experience. Highly recommend"

  • "2nd time to this restaurant - had a great experience the first time and wanted to spend Mothers Day with family there. We used to use Strings (when it was run and owned by Noel Cunningham) as our "special occasion" restaurant and have been looking for a new one - tried a few but nothing really "felt" comfortable and delivered the quality of food/service that we were looking for. Red Square downtown has been fitting the bill and is, in my opinion, a great restaurant. That being said, our family fell in love with Odyssey and know that we will be supporting this restaurant for years to come. The owner (Chef) greets everyone at the table, the server was wonderful and the food is the best Italian in town. Grazie mille Odyssey!"

  • "We were nicely surprised by out experience. The restaurant is warm, welcoming and convivial. The Chef and the owner are constantly at the tables to see how every thing is for you. And the food is very good, southern Italian- not high tone "cuisine." Entree includes antipasti, a loaf of bread, and caesar salad. Be prepared it is pretty much slow food but once you get into the pace it is especially nice to not fee rushed so it is especially good for small groups of people who want to talk. Wine list is reasonable, the Sicilian red is a particularly nice inexpensive wine. But there is Brunello as well if you have a mind. All in all it just made for a lovely evening."

  • "The owner greeted us at the door. He quickly realized my mother was from the same region he was. We had a great conversation and this set the tone for our whole meal. Our waiter, his son Michel (sp?), was incredible!! I believe that his bolognese sauce is the best we have ever tasted. The chicken and sausage pasta dish was fabulous as well. My family believes this is without doubt the best Italian food in Colorado. We will be frequent diners. "

  • "I had my Mother's day dinner (an early celebration) at this resturant. Ignaccio and Michaele were wonderful hosts and definitely added a personal touch to the evening's meal. Our waitress Jennifer, was patient and attentive. Plenty of vegetarian options with fresh local produce. A must visit if you are looking for a memorable experience! "
