The Odyssey Restaurant is a vision of the Valley, featuring fine dining with a breathtaking view from any area in the dining room. Everything gleams from the oak paneling, brass fixtures to the crystalline windows and a panoramic view of San Fernando Valley. Open for Lunch Monday through Saturday and Dinner daily, the Odyssey menu offers delicious California cuisine specializing in steaks and fresh seafood. On Sundays the Odyssey serves their award-winning champagne Sunday offering over 100 specialty items. The Odyssey also offers a lovely lounge and cocktail patio with the same spectacular view as the restaurant. The lounge features a full bar and happy hour, which is offered Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.Continued

  • "I had been to the Odyssey once before and wanted to take my wife there to catch the incredile view of the valley from the restaurant. The food was good and our server was very personable. However, there's a lot of competition in the LA area and this establishment does not particularly stand out, other than the scenic view. I'll go back if I'm in the area but I won't spend 1-1/2 hours to drive there again, as I did this time."

  • "The server repeatedly messed up my order. I ordered the top sirloin. First, she brought me the wrong sides. Then she brought me the wrong steak (she brought out a medium well, I ordered medium rare). When she finally brought out my steak, it was dry, with no sauce. And cold. And without toppings for the baked potato. Then she had to go back again because she forgot to bring me a steak knife. I usually come to the Odyssey for Sunday brunch. This was my first time dining there for dinner. I was not impressed. There was no excuse for this poor service, the restaurant wasn't that busy."

  • "We have been to this place in the past and we have always had a positive experience, but not this time. Service was very slow on what did not seem like an extremely busy night. Our appetizer was served at the same time as our food and my wife's steak was not cooked as requested. And when we asked the server if we could have coffee at the terrace the waiter said it would be stretch for him. He eventually came back and said some other guy would help him with the coffee but it was you late and the mood was ruined completely."

For ex., outside on the patio assemble a bbq & customers could walk up & ask for freshly grilled salmon, of r freshly made to order hot pasta.   • "Our only complaint is that we used to be able to request the server we've had for 20 years in the bar area. They have changed something and now we can't get her. We did have excellent service however, but this isn't such a good rule. Tammy is as much a part of the ambiance as is the view and the food."

  • "I think the one word that would describe the Odyssey is 'mature'. Not pretentious or trying too hard, one feels immediately at home with the sense that dining will be a well-managed, unhurried affair. We particularly liked the starter suggestion from our excellent server, Heirloom Tomato 3 Ways Caprese Salad, a creative dish with traditional ingredients like basil and fresh mozzarella cheese but with unpredictable additions like olive tapenade and tortilla strips; followed by a perfectly cooked and seasoned 'old-school' prime rib that did not disappoint. Our 33rd wedding anniversary was made so much more celebratory by our experience at the Odyssey!"

  • "The Odyssey remains a valley classic with its sweeping views and hillside charm. The food is fantastic. We had the fillet mignon, which was superb, and shrimp pasta dish, also delectible. The service was truly outstanding. The hosts are friendly and prompt and our waiter was very efficient - water glasses were kept full, etc. The aestethics in the courtyard are a bit tired and in need of sprucing up, but the view makes up for it to a great degree."

  • "Had a wonderful date night with my wife, server went above and beyond to accommodate my "special needs" when it comes to preparation of salmon, which was absolutely fantastic. The only problem was the rude hostess, whom pushed past my wife in order to prevent the other young hostess from taking my wife and myself to our table. Not sure what her problem was and she did not apologize for being rude after we brought the action to her attention, in fact she avoided us altogether. Beyond that everything was great."

  • "The best aspect about this restaurant is perhaps its buffet (which we didn't have, although it looked appetizing) and it's views. Ye the outdoor patio was unkept and that was a disappointment. The restaurant is dated and feels like it's stuck in the 70's. The host was very nice but the service was slow. We had to go fetch the waiter. The food was a disappointment. We two samplers, their sampler platter which included calamari, seared tuna, Hong Kong coconut shrimp and a crab cake and a second appetizer, the spinach and artichoke dip. While the shrimp was cooked nicely, all the other items were either off in their flavors or significantly failed to meet our palate expectations. We may try it again at night, hoping for a better experie"

  • "It was my wife's birthday and as a family of 5 we were celebrating her special day. I couldn't get a reservation timed around sunset to take advantage of the scenic view (my fault for waiting too long to make a reservation) so we were in at 6 p.m. We were greated promptly and seated immediately. The restaurant is older and the decor is nothing exceptional but again, its the scenic view and the outdoors which set the mood here. The service was exceptional. The food was great. I thought it was a bit pricey but it was a special occassion and it's not the type of restaurant I would frequent regularly. I am interested in returning to the bar area and taking advantage of the outdoor patio on a future summer evening."

It was obviously understaffed BUT the staff tried to do as much as they could to keep everyone as calm as possible. I will definitely go back again. As stated, usually we receive great service!"

  • "Great place. It is showing it's age but the service was good and the facility was clean. I would have rated the service outstanding but the table between courses was not bussed. The busser walked by our table several times after we finished our soup course and totally ignored our empty plates causing a problem when our server brought the main course. Also I would have marked higher with the food had our meat not been overcooked. Wife ordered the filet medium well and got WELL done. I tried it and the meat was actually not tender as filet should be. I ordered rack of lamb medium rare and got 2 pieces medium well and one medium rare."

  • "The dining experience was great. The after experience was awful. We had valet my car. When we got home and ended the evening only to realize that the valet had hooked an extra set of car keys onto our keys. We immediatley called the restaurant and they wanted us to drive them back to the restaurant. I live in Santa Clarita Valley. Not too terribly far but it WAS 11 pm. So they volnteered to send someone to meet my fiance at "In N Out" in Valencia. Oddly enough they sent a young girl to pick these keys up from what is technically a stranger to her. All ended well and she got the keys and he went on home. A little inconvenience without much gratitude for doing the right thing."

  • "The July 4th All You Can Eat BBQ was on the patio, with 8:30 PM reservation. Food was good but buffet was at one end of patio, making it hard to get to for some diners. There were no heaters next to tables, in our section, so we were cold through out. Service was congenial but slow (maybe because server had quite a distance to go to inside kitchen). There was a 10-15 minute wait for drinks and coffee refills (after they were ordered). Ambience was good with great patio view and nice inside dining room. There was no visible sign of management; the cooks prepared way too much food. Generally, our impression was they did not have their act together for this July 4th event. This is suprising, given they specialize in weddings and events."

  • "They raised the price from $29.99 to $36.99. That's quite a jump during these hard economic times especially factoring in tax and tip on the additionally pricing. We will still go but not as often. They put the hot items and carving station in a room where private parties are occurring which is awkward."

  • "I went to this restaurant for my 18th wedding anniversary, the view was wonderful of the San Fernando Valley. They had outdoor dining but it was not offered us. If you want a romantic view request a window table, we were seated further back and could see the view but I could hear the couples behind us talking to the waitress through our entire meal. The food was ok, my husband had the salmon and I had the prime rib, it came with a choice of two sides, the cocktails were ok, too sweet for the mojitos, the service was nice and the waitress was friendly and helpful. I would not plan to dine here again, it just didn't have the great food I was hoping for, it is a nice view though.."
