Diner Reviews
  • "We reserved a spot for our party for Easter, at dinner, and had no particular expectations other than it was one of 3 restaurants with decent reviews in Morgan Hill. We were really blown away: - great service from Chris, fun, witty, responsive, attentive, informative despite our best attempts to throw him off. - surprising/excellent food - every dish surprised us in a good way. Wienerschnitzel was so different and amazing, mahi mahi very good combinations around it, and CHICKEN WAFFLE ! - quite rich, but very good. -the Mediterranean salad, olives... it was all very good. We will be back and back and back for this neighborhood gem, in the old Morgan Hill granary building."

  • "This is a great restaurant with terrific Mediterranean cuisine. Good, lively atmosphere but not chaotic. Our server was a bit pompous but not enough to spoil the great food and atmosphere."

  • "We are the regular at the restaurant. Food ....soup, salad, appetizers and grill pork chop, lamb, steak, dessert etc. All in all, full of favor, nicely plated, fesh and tasty. A bit salty on the main but I believe it is the personal preference of the cooks. But not damaging in general. One bad thing, the Italian singer featured every Thursday was on vacation without announcement. We missed him. My beloved grill crispy skin Mary's Chicken was replaced by fried Mary's chicken and waffle. OMG.Thats not good. The new item was a "night and day" different. Salty chicken and unusual sweet sauce. Anyway, the moist inside, crispy outside, perfectly seasoned, creamy polenta Grill Mary's chicken is WAY WAY WAY better. PLEASE BRING IT BACK on the menu."

  • "The chef deserves the Michelin star he has. The homemade pasta special, a rabbit ragu, was out of this world, as was my swordfish. Beautiful bar, fun ambiance."

  • "We were there for a sisters reunion, Food was good, drinks were great but we felt rushed and the noise level was a little high to have conversation"

  • "Dining as it should be....beautiful spot, lots of attention, and a feeling of belonging. The food is always spot on. This is also a great spot to be adventurous and try something new. Ive never been disappointed. On a warmer evening, sitting beneath the trees is a real treat"

  • "We had a great experience with all the staff, they were wonderful, attentive from the minute we walked in the door until the very end. Only problem I can think of was at the very beginning, we were seated right by the door, the door was open and I was getting very cold. We asked to be moved and they moved us immediately. I don't know why the door is left open, might be for ventilation for the kitchen. Service was impeccable, the food was very good. Everyone was happy with their meal."

  • "In a landscape peppered with fast food joints, this gem is just off the main drag in town. Outstanding food that you would expect to find in high end restaurants in the trendiest neighborhoods of big cities can be found here. This place is a real treat."

  • "Made simple reservations for 4 on line. The host was very accommodating when we got a little cold from sitting outside and moved us to a nice table inside. I have been to Odeum several times and have never had a bad experience. Keep up the great warm welcoming atmoshere with excellent food and service."

  • "The music was so loud that it impeded conversation. We asked and they turned it down . I think they have it turned up when you go in to fill the room but as the dining room filled, I noticed it got turned down, so they did accommodate diners' conversation. The food is out of this world. Salvatore is a genius with food."

  • "Love the gnocchi, salmon was a hit, and the wiener schnitzel was very tasty. Bookended by hummus in the front and good desserts in the back made for a great meal!"

  • "All four entrees were delicious, as well as our two appetizers. The duck was great, as was the swordfish. The lamb chops were amazing, as usual! Octopus appetizer was great and the new lamb meatball appetizer was truly delicious. The molten chocolate cake needs to be served on something other than the wood plank. Looks cool, but the chocolate oozed over the edge onto the table."

  • "The food at Odeum is prepared with the freshest ingredients with the artistry of a Master Chef and the best part is the taste - simply amazing. I dined here 5 times and each time is has wowed my guests."

  • "First off, I've been coming to Odeum for the past few years, and really love it. The food is usually fresh, creatively prepared, and delicious, and the staff really friendly and attentive. But something has been off during my last two visits. I had dinner here a few weeks ago, and the polipo, which is usually delicious and is one of the main reasons I come here so much, was tough, rubbery and unappetizing. Then I went back for brunch this past Sunday, and discovered a complete half of a shell of an egg hidden in my smoked salmon benedict The accompanying arugula salad was almost too salty to eat, and my coffee was watery and old-tasting. I hope this is just a little glitch, and that this wonderful place is back to its old self soon."

  • "We've been eating here since it opened. I've always ordered the wiener schnitzel and cucumber yogurt dip. Since the menu changed I've had the chicken and waffles and salmon. Both very good! We also had a birthday party here, it was such an enjoyable time. The special that night was Maine lobster, absolutely divine! The brunch is always good especially the eggs benedict. My kids love the pizzas and the kitchen is always willing to customize for them since kids don't always want fancy food on their pizza. This is a go to spot for our family."

  • "Food presentation was wonderful. Great menu. Could just order small plates to share... All wonderful. Our waiter, Jason, was great too."

  • "Service was good and food was good. My center cut Swordfish was a little raw and I had to send back but they were quick. The place was extremely busy and noisy. My husband had to ask to be moved from the front of the restaurant by the door where the waiter kept putting his rear end in our faces to serve the table next to us. Once we moved to the back a loud obnoxious guy with 3 other people were next us which was fine but my husband and I couldn't have a conversation. I would recommend going on a week day when it's not so busy."

  • "All 10 of us in our group enjoyed everything they ordered including appetizers, salads, main dishes and the wonderful desserts. Menu is innovative and presentation is appealing. Noise level unfortunately is always very high in that restaurant and place is a little too small and hence the seating a little too crowded! They tend to clear out dishes little too quickly! My salad plate was removed while I was talking to my friend even though I was not completely done with it! All in all, even though the cost is a little on high side, their outstanding food makes it a great neighborhood gem"

  • "Odeum has as fun atmosphere and the artwork on the walls is changed out every few months. Its a classy place for a date or a good time with friends. The food is creative and the menu has a wide variety of flavors that we have enjoyed on multiple visits. The Mediterranean food theme is focused on high end dishes and not basic stuff from the region. Odeum deserves a strong recommendation."

  • "a top restaurant in Morgan Hill - great for all occasions - menu is unique and delicious!!"

  • "This is no doubt the best restaurant in Morgan Hill, and one of the best in the South Bay. It has an eclectic menu of carefully crafted dishes, form the appetizers right down to the deserts. The owner and his staff are very attentive, and they strive to provide you with a delightful dining experience."

  • "The food was delicious, although the selection is more for red meat lovers. Our waiter was very outgoing and very helpful in suggesting appetizers and pairing our wines. We were in the back of the restaurant and it was cramped and noisy. Overall, a great experience and would recommend this place to family and friends!"

  • "Had a "beet salad" to start. A BEET SALAD! It was luscious. I kid you NOT. If a beet salad can be luscious, just imagine our steaks. Cooked to perfection. 5-star service as well. ONLY downfall was we were at a 2-top that should not have been there. We might have well been sitting with the couple at the table next to us. Luckily, they were a LOVELY couple and actually added to our experience!! Can't wait to return."

  • "I highly recommend the Polipo, as an appetizer. I love this appetizer, it is so tender, it totally melts in your mouth! The Mediterranean salad was excellent while the Greek soup was out of this world. I had the Salmon w/ caramelized fennel. It was so yummy! The fish was cooked just right. My husband enjoyed his New York steak w/ Tuscan herb fries and grilled zucchini. The steak was nice and juicy! For dessert, we enjoyed the bread pudding w/ chocolate, candied pecans, and creme fraiche. Be prepared...The meal was pricey but worth it. Overall, our dinning experience was superb! I highly recommend this restaurant. It has become our favorite restaurant."

  • "It is pricey but Odeum has unique and fabo food. It's definitely a great place for those special occasion lunches with the ladies. The staff is awesome."

  • "We have now visited them 5 times. The food never disappoints. We have tried almost everything. There is nothing average on the menu. Our favorite is the octopus. Don't miss it! Ask to sit away from the front door in the winter. There is a draft."

  • "Food was amazing, service was great, and ambience was also great. Everything about the restaurant was excellent, except it is a bit of a tight squeeze but other than that I will be coming back soon."

  • "No complementary bread. $25 corkage fee? Give me a break."

  • "I would consider this a special occasion restaurant. The menu is upscale and pricey. I expected a much better experience given its reputation and other reviews I've read. I was the guest of a family member who was picking up the tab for the evening. I would not come back to this place if I was going to be paying the bill. The food was good, but it was VERY, VERY LOUD in this "high end" restaurant. The louder the clientele got, the louder the piped in music got. It was not what a expected for this expensive of an evening."

  • "Great food. We were not dissapointed. The pita bread is out of this world. The service was top notch. It is a little noisy but we knew that so were not surprised. Looking forward to returning for lunch."

  • "Good food, well executed. Wines that pair well. Definitely one to go back to."

  • "If you're going for a food extravaganza this is a great place. Lots of wonderful flavors. The octopus dish is outstanding. The first course flat bread and dips are really yummy. Excellent main dishes. If you're going for lunch with the girls and you want to stay on on your diet forget it. No good healthy food choices."

  • "I've heard about this place whenever I've searched Morgan Hill, but never made the effort to visit. My girlfriend and I were nearby and said, "why not"? I thought that they would have lunch on the menu, but they were still serving brunch. It didn't matter because the meals were fabulous. A gyro burrito, although not as Mediterranean in my book as I'd think, was delicious (and quite abundant in quantity). Additionally, the chilequiles with green salsa and feta cheese was amazing. And one last note, having the pink colored butter was a shock, but a must have -- you'll enjoy soon enough."

  • "You would never expect a gem like this to be located off the beaten path in Morgan Hill. I live on the Monterey Peninsula and it is a great place to meet half way with friends who live in the Bay Area. Great food, ambiance, and service!"

  • "Odeum is arguably the best restaurant in Morgan Hill. Five of us had a variety of entrees: Kurobuta Pork Chop, Petrale Sole, Wiener Schnitzel, Margherita Pizza, and Bistecca (New York Steak.). Everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. We finished with Gelato, coffee, and some nice 20-year old Port. We will keep coming back."
