  • "Crab legs were good, but the supporting hot/cold dishes were at best average. Also there wasn't much of choice given the price. Certainly not worth the price."

  • "Overall it is a nice place. Our server was great and the food was great. But to be honest it just isn't worth it to pay $46 a person for a Buffett. Unless you can eat 5 plates of crab legs to make up for it. And I made about 4 trips to the buffet and everytime I had to either wait for the tourists with cameras to get out of my way or I had to wait for the aisle to clear from the party of 8 being sat. I wanted to feel like it was worth $46 but in no way was it. I think it should be possibly $26. I beg you to save your money and go to a fancy seafood restaurant. Because they will just keep raising the price. It was under $40 when I was here 6 years ago."

  • "I went once before and enjoyed an item off the menu at the tale end of breakfast- Had the place to ourselves and ok service, and paid about $12 each. That day was good. This time there was no menu, only the buffet- I didn't know that when I made reservations, and as I accepted my fate and went to the buffet line I still never saw a price for it. The buffet, set up in a circle, had no order to it and people were not being very considerate. Someone refreshing the crab legs turned too quickly and poured cold crabby water all over the back of my legs and didn't apologize. We had two servers assigned to our table and both were awkward and hard to understand, and were very much more of a disruption to our dining than of service. When the bill came, it was as I had feared- This breakfast/brunch buffet was $40 per person.... Not what I was expecting, definitely not worth the hassle, discomfort and less-than-exciting food. I won't be back."

  • "Really for two people at $88, it was not worth it. the salad bar was a bag of mixed greens thrown in a bowl with some dry topping and a limited assortment of dressings. If you want to make a bowl of Ramen/Saimen you can have at it. The raw bar was okay and the main dishes were adequate but i asked twice for a 1 inch cut of prime rib as so i didn't have to keep coming back up for another piece and the server acted like he never heard me. I guess if you are really hungry and committed to setting up shop for 2 hours of eating this would be worth it. The quality is not as I remember. And the it really felt more like I was dining at a Golden Coral with a fish tank than the ambiance that this place once had. Interior is dated food presentation was sub par. Won't be heading back anytime soon."

  • "We go here for celebrations in our Ohana. It is always great food and even though my sister is in a wheelchair, we are always seated where it is easy to get to the buffet and get extra good service. We keep going"

  • "Waikiki is fabulous and made moreso by interacting with the unforgettable mermaid and scuba dude swimming by while you have a hearty meal with your family. We had ann umforgettable time! Food was delicious, sushi, chowder, roast, brownies...aah. Mahalo!"

  • "I NORMALLY GO THERE TO EAT THE SNOW CRAB. THEY CHANGED IT TO COLD CRAB. I WENT THERE RECENTLY & SAT NEXT TO A TABLE WITH SIX GUYS. THEY HAD HOT CRAB SERVED TO THEIR TABLE BY THE SERVER. I INQUIRED WITH THE SERVER & WAS TOLD YOU CAN ORDER A PLATE OF HOT CRAB! HAD I KNOWN I WOULD GO THERE MORE OFTEN. OF CORSE THE PLATE WASN'T PILED HIGH WITH CRAB, BUT IF NOT ENOUGH, YOU CAN ORDER MORE. I WILL BE GOING BACK MORE OFTEN."

  • "it was a buffet style place. the tanks were great but only if you sat right in front of them. hot food was over done and the cold was super cold. the drinks were over priced for the area."

  • "My wife and I went to Oceanarium on a Saturday night expecting a variety of shrimp dishes along with other buffet items. The advertising is not keeping up with the nightly themes it appears. The Dining Out advertisement announces Saturday as Shrimp Night. There were only three shrimp options, peel and eat, deep fired tempura similar and shrimp in linguine from the pasta bar. there were just as many oyster and clam options as shrimp. Advertising in another magazine we found the following day announces Saturday as Oyster Night. The food was good but not exceptional. We did find several dessert selections that were very good and we were able to eat until we were sated."

  • "We have dined here each time we are on the island. This time there was no hot snow crab and it was only by mentioning it to the person filling the trays that we found out you had to ask your waiter for it. The waiter had not advised us and that is our main reason for coming. They also changed their senior night which I believe is now Tuesday and Wednesday. We cancelled our second reservation because we didn't think it was as good as it used to be for the price."

  • "I took my 18 year old daughter here thinking we would have a quiet Sunday dinner. I was absolutely wrong. The resturant was extremely noisy, the food was bland at best for the price we paid for the seafood buffet. We most certainly will not be attending again in the future. Extremely disappointing for they way the resturant is described. Would not recommend!"

  • "Thanks for making this a memorable dining experience for my wife's 60th birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better table, food was superior and the service fantastic. The noise level was a little high for my taste but bearable for dinner. The noise level coming out of the bar area was particularly high. I appreciate the efforts made by the staff to provide an unencumbered dining experience at the Oceanarium."

  • "We had an EXCELLENT waiter. He took his job seriously and really cared about our dining experience! He was tipped very well for an outstanding performance!!!! added bonus was the enormous fish tank inside the restaurant and the diver and the mermaid!"

  • "Took the wife here for our Anniversary. It was nice to see, the reservation was easy to make and we changed it several times with no issues. Wasn't too crowded. The aquarium overall was a neat touch, but seating can be so-so. The two person tables are cramped especially when doing the buffet with Crablegs, the table gets crowded quick. I would have enjoyed it more had we asked for better seating."

  • " Food was very good; staff was excellent and the chef came out to point out specific menu items that we could not eat due to food allergies. The giant fish tank with rays, groupers, etc. was what initially brought us here and it was fun to watch the diver feed the fish by hand. However, the ambiance of the facility was akin to a cafeteria which was not expected for a $50/person, before drinks restaurant."

  • "Went here on a Friday night to celebrate my daughter's 5 y.o. birthday and have her birthday sign in the aquarium with the mermaid. Prime rib and crab legs were delicious like previous visits. Sashimi was fresh and the hot foods were also good. When we asked wait staff about the ice cream machine, they said it was broken. We proceeded on to the other dessert offerings which were OK. However, they brought out a large scoop of strawberry ice cream for her which was a nice touch on their part. They also brought out a slice of strawberry/banana cake which was delicious, and sang her happy birthday."

  • "I go there every year for my birthday, but for the past 2 years the service has been poor. The food is always great, but I like the whole experience. Service is very important. It is a buffet so we get our own food, they basically just have to bring drinks in a timely manner, the check, when asked or not... the server should be aware that we are almost done and anticipate our needs, esp. since we had children, its late, we were there long, etc., and buss the table since a lot of plates are used at a buffet and for a large party the table gets cramped quickly. Bottom line, the food is great, but the service is poor. They should have kamaaina discount throughout the entire night also!"

  • "Worst dinner buffet at this restaurant. We have celebrated many occasions here in the past and was very disappointed with this dinner. The food was not good and the selection was horrible. It was oyster night with only a couple oyster selections. Small selection of assorted sushi which was not that good. Prime rib was a little over cooked but ok. Horrible desserts! They replaced vanilla soft serve ice cream with pineapple flavor which was horrible! Service was ok although we didn't get the cups of coffee we requested. We won't be going there for a long time if at all."

  • "I went on a Thursday night where the crab was featured. The cold crab was good, but the warm legs had a pronounced saltiness that spoiled the flavor. Other items on offer included a selection of salads that were quite good and garlic shrimp - yummy! Deserts were good, but not spectacular. When I was there, a diver was playing with the fish in the aquarium and the mermaid made an appearance too. Overall, the view of the aquarium is quite spectacular. In the end though, the food is kind of average given the price, even for Waikiki. Overall: meh."

  • "Flying over from Sydney and staying at the Pacific Beach hotel we were so looking forward to a sumptuous seafood buffet to begin our holiday in Waikiki. After reading online reviews we booked ahead our table at the Oceanarium Restaurant. The staff were helpful and attentive to our needs and were prompt in clearing away our finished plates between visits to the buffet. The seafood selection was minimal and the king crab was unappetising with little flavour, like it had been defrosted in tap water. I found our dinner expensive for the products offered, the cost woupd be consistent to a premium buffet for which this was not. My family all decided we would not pay for this buffet again, such a shame as my baby daughter loved the aquarium."

  • "Food was great! My kids were super excited to see and take a picture with a mermaid along with getting a big HAPPY birthday song sang to her before our evening ended."

  • "The food quality used to be better the previous times we dined here. My family complained that the short rib & carving station meat was tough, so I did not try them. They are afraid to return, as they would prefer other restaurants at the same price as Oceanarium. It used to be my favorite special occasion restaurant. The dessert table was also not refilled promptly."

  • "We dined at the Oceanarium Restaurant over the weekend and had a nice evening. The service was excellent. Chan, our server for the evening and he was great. He kept stopping by to make sure our drinks were filled, plates were replaced, and for any request we needed. Paul (Manager ?) also was great. He stopped by and chatted for a bit and made sure everything was ok. We sat at"

  • "We went here for a business dinner. The buffet made it very easy for everyone to find great dining options, the drinks were good and prompt and the service was very good. However the expense is a bit steep for what is on offer, and so I cannot say I would go again. Still, if you don't have a problem with $70 per person, might be a good place for a dinner in Waikiki."

  • "Made a reservation for 12:45 and since it Waikiki and traffic was pretty bad I was late for only 5 mins and my daughter really wanted to sit near the aquarium, but they placed us way back near the bathroom and consider a walk-in when I ask if they could seat us closer. Besides, during the whole time we were there the tables that we wanted wasn't occupied by anybody and we there for at least 3 hours."

  • "As usual, the food was great but It seemed like the price had gone up. The staff was really on it and friendly. We like to pick the first brunch opening as the food is always fresh. The buffet always has a great selection."

  • "Management doesn't take care of other peoples mishap! Kids running around knocking food/butter off my table and the manager did was apologize :( the waiter was more concerned . After the big mess that was made in my coach purse, the manager didn't offer a discount nor did he approach the customer. Didn't even offer to clean my purse! He really cared less! Waiter was awesome ! His boss sucked!"

  • "The ambiance was great and the service was average. But food could have been great, I expected more from seafood theme restaurant. Maybe more type of sushi/sashimi and the pasta station could use salt on the pasta water. It was very blunt. Maybe more type of seafood. The prime was Great. Overall it's average place with high price."

  • "With all the open tables near the tank, they sit us in the middle of tables on both sides and mind you, I'm a BIG guy so it was hard to squeeze in between chairs to get to my seat. The prime rib was tough, the Kalbi was tough, the king crab legs was so soft the nutcracker was useless. Clam chowder was overpowered by thyme. Must have new cooks since my last visit."
