I never expect much out of a buffet, but it was a really neat overall ambiance with the fish tank, the mermaid, and diver feeding the fish. The food was good and it was a fun atmosphere.
When we arrived, the hostess' only words were what was the reservation under, and that was it. I said thank you as we were seated, and there was no reply as far as your welcome, or anything. Our bus boy was quite nice and kept our plates out of the way and drinks full. I kept an eye on the hostess, and she and the other girls had no personality to the guests. To me, that's the biggest turn off on the restaurant. I still recommend checking it out, because it is a cool experience, but it can be better6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDining in WaikikiIt was a wonderful dinner experience on our last night at Waikiki.The food were great especially my fav,crab legs.We are seafood lovers except for son,luckily prime rib was served which was great.He said it was delicious and tender.Will recommend this place to anyone who is going to Waikiki.The atmosphere and ambiance was great.Loved the two story aquarium,making it more soothing while dining and seeing all the fish swimming.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you like crab...This is a buffett and a really good one. Cracked crab every night, prime rib, sushi, shrimp...you name it, it's there. They have a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit and ice cream for the kids. On Mondays & Thursdays it costs a little more but besides dungeness & snow crab they also have Alaskan King crab. Can't wait to go again. Sunday brunch is great too! Also, if you're local, don't forget your Kama'aina rates and if over 65, don't forget to request senior rates.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe chose this restaurant forWe chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner to keep a tradition going - for 3 generations, this place with its two-story aquarium has been a must-do dinner when visiting Honolulu. The buffet was very good - my husband ate two plates of crab legs and two plates of prime rib, while I enjoyed the salads and fresh fruit. The bar cocktails were just right - goodly amount of alcohol but not overbearing, mixes very tasty. But the main event is the aquarium with a wide variety of fish and coral, the feeding show, and the Mermaid show. A great place for families with kids over 3 yrs old, but a bit pricey. There was an assortment of local dishes which were very good. I was surprised that they remembered the note I left when placing my reservation and sang a happy birthday song to my son with a slice of delicious cake. The service is awesome and it was a nice touch for the manager going from table to table to ask if we needed anything just ask. We went to celebrate our 8th yr anniversary because we went 8 yrs ago right after our wedding for our wedding dinner. Both times we had a big group with us and there was never any mix ups or hassels as can sometimes happen with big groups. Everything was wonderful the mermaide was just the icing on the cake. The choices of food are excellent if you like Asian cuisine. I have read a lot of bad reviews but they must of had bad seating or didn't like the price because this place is awesome. I definitely recommend a reservation at this place as if you don't the wait time can be a little while. This place is good for special occasions, bringing out of town people to waikiki, as well as people with a big appetite. The food was very good, especially for a buffet. If you go on Saturday make sure to come with an empty stomach so you can eat the crab. The crab here is just as good as a "five star" restaurant where you would be paying double the price what you pay here, and best of all it is all you can eat. Loved the crab, shrimp and variety of sushi and desserts.
Table server was very courteous and quick in bringing and refilling our drinks. The view of the large fish tank is amazing as well.
Kamaaina rates offerer to residence of the island, but priced a bit to high, I thought. Other than that perfect. Reservations at least

It can be done online.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMYay for roast suckling pig!We heard about the roast suckling pig offered on the Oceanarium buffet on Tuesdays and HAD to check it out. It was awesome! I also loved the pasta station & the prime rib. My friend really liked the dungeness crab. We all had a great meal and left very statisfied.
