  • "We have dined here before, about 2-3 times per year, when we are in town for business. This visit there was a noticeable decline in the food quality and level of attentiveness. Way overdone with the use of watermelon. Sorry, bit we are accustomed to much, much more. And, the restaurant was not busy at all."

  • "The restaurant and staff were very accommodating. The food was great, the staff excellent, and the environment exactly what was desired. We took our two sons for their final feast before sending them off to college. A great time was had by all. The room was vibrant, but not so that we could not hear each other speak. The pace of the service and food was perfect. My son was offered a white napkin for his light colored pants without hesitation, which was a first for him. It may seem like a little detail, but excellent service is in the little details. The prices were as expected, and the wine list provided multiple options for our favorite wine. The dessert choices boggled the mind. We ordered two, and still took leftover home."

  • "Been to the Oceanaire many times & some of the things which bring us back are the great, fresh, & diverse sea food selections; the design and ambiance; and lower volume of conversational noise at the dining area. The ability to converse, conduct business, or hold conversations at a respectable level, without the need to over-talk, or use excessive volume is invaluable. This fact, married with the wonderful cuisine and preparations, seemingly make the Oceanaire stand out from the crowd. The various preparation styles of the seafood offerings marvel those found in the best seafood restaurants in the Keys...well done!   • "Our personal waiter was a gentleman named Andre. He was the best! He took the time to review the dinner menu and make suggestions that appealed to our personal taste. The Executive Chef visited our table and introduced himself with the classy touch of a complimentary bite size appetizer that was delicious. From the selection of oysters to the Halibut steak and scallops ending with a scrumptious Baked Alaskan desert.... Our first experience at the Oceanaire Seafood Room was out of this world and we are already making plans to visit again."

  • "I love seafood and the grilled Ono I had was superb! More than I expected, in fact. As soon as my hubby and I walked in, we were floored. The waiter knew the menu and answered all of our questions. My hubby asked the chef to just make whatever he felt like and we didn't end up getting the most expensive item or a steak. We got something that was average price and it was very, very delicious. we've already decided this is our new anniversary tradition!!"

  • "If you make reservations, one would expect that the table be prepared for the number in your party. This isn't so at this restaurant. You get an ordinary setting wherever they decide to seat you. I expected much more for a $165 meal for two! Save your money and find another restaurant that will prepare your setting per your reservation requests."

  • "This a very good restaurant for fresh fish and oysters. The food is prepared well and the service is fine but not exceptional. We always go here on our wedding anniversary and enjoy the experience. Is somewhat expensive but the fresh sole, which my wife had, and the stripped Maryland bass, which I had, were well worth it. I always have the raw oysters to start and my wife has the escargot. The baked Alaska for desert is very nice. Try the Oceanaire cocktail is interesting. I was disappointed that the special Oceanaire Manhattan was not available. The wine selection is about average for an upscale restaurant. We always try a couple unfamiliar wines, and we have been pleased with them."

  • "We were here during "Motorcycles on Meridian", and were amazed at how quiet the restaurant was with all the engine revving outside. It was impressive! Now, service and food, both excellent. We like to go slowly, and the staff were accommodating, we had a great dining lexperience. Not the absolute best we have ever had, but very very good. Be prepared to beat up your wallet, but we had a wonderful evening."

  • "We chose recently to dine at Oceanaire, in that we had dined there a number of times for special occasions. I ordered a "Fisherman's Platter". Unfortunately, it was not available in a healthy grilled version. Also, the small quantity of seafood served was disappointing. I would have expected a little more seafood and less of shoestring potatoes. We also had to specifically request bread of an assistant waiter after awaiting attention from the primary waiter. However, overall, the experience was enjoyable, with good ambience and overall, a good level of service."

  • "I don't know why they charge such high prices? The food was average at best. The salmon ($38) was dry so I only ate a portion. My companion had the king crab ($60) and it tasted stringy and chewy. Not the sweet meat it's supposed to be. The clam chowder ($8) was very tasty. The scallops were very small in size in comparison to other restaurants. The place was almost empty so that might be a sign of it's popularity."

  • "1st time there, reservation/special occasion. Service was a mess! Hot app came before our drinks & cold app. then brought out warm shrimp cockatail. Entrees came w/o our side dish - got cold while we waited (so basically $100 worth of seafood that we ate cold), didn't get bread until we asked, and that was at the end of our meal. Didn't get the relish tray that is supposed to come with bread. Server didn't check on us, then offered us desert despite the free b-day dessert, so we ordered, thinking she forgot bday. Finally comes back with b-day dessert after about 15 mins, didn't even ask if we still wanted the other dessert, but just brought it anyhow, so had extra dessert. manager did make slight adjusment, but still poor experience"

  • "We had a group of 11 and had no trouble making a reservation just a day ahead. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect because we could hear each other. Our waiter, Andre, was outstanding; ready to help when needed but not hovering. His suggestions were spot on for us. Told that we were celebrating a graduation, Andre brought out a spectacular complimentary flaming dessert. Oceanaire was well worth its cost."

Also, we did not get the coffee with our dessert as the menu stated. But overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back."

  • "The large appetizer shrimp was hard to chew . The salmon portion was small and dry - sides not included. The menu and food was Bland – few offerings with not much flavor. They seem to be big on serving shoe string potatoes (French fries) with their fried offerings instead of rice - they told us rice takes too long to make. The fried batter/breading was too thick and the seafood they fried was not fresh and without flavor. The glass wine was okay but not much of a choice. Did not try any desert as the menu did not seem appealing - no desert tray. Our whole diner from start to out the door only lasted one hour – we seemed to be rushed from the time we entered. Cost was around $160.00 for 2 people – 1st time at “Oceanair” - will not be back."

  • "Two recent visits to Oceanaire. Ordered filet steaks each time and they were dissapointing. Prior visit the steak was so sub-standard they offered (without prompting by us) to replace it. This visit two people ordered filet steaks medium rare. They arrived well done. We kept them, but wish they could fix their grilling capability. Last visit they offered a great thick bacon side dish and mac and cheese. Both were great. Both off the menu yesterday. Too bad. The seafood turned out OK. If someone in your dining party prefers steak maybe think of another restaurant. Management was helpful."

  • "Visited Oceanaire in DC late last year at teh recommendation of a colleague. Found the food incredable and the atmosphere a bit stuffy. Visited Oceanaire in Indianapolis and found the atmosphere a bit more hip/less stuffy. Tried the fourth of july special and thought teh filet and crab cake to be bland and ot up to my expectation. My daughter requested holland sole simply grilled and received a portion of very dry fish - tasted OKbut agan not up to expectation. Dinner for two was $150 and not worth the money for either food or atmosphere. Truly enjoyed a meal the next eventing at a competitor around the corner for $50."

  • "This was our first trip to Ocean Aire. We knew the price range and menu before arriving. Loved the online reservation ability. I have to honestly say we have paid much more for meals and were disappointed . This was the first time in a long time that we have experienced a perfect meal from seating , service , food, desert, and bar service. We hate when staff is constantly interrupting . Your staff was attentive, but not overwhelming . The experience at you establishment was incredible and we will be back again."
