This past Saturday (5/04), however, it wasn't up to par. The waitstaff is always superb, but one gentleman was responsible for clearing/setting up tables and he was dashing around in hyper speed and constantly bumping in to chairs - hard. Oceanaire now seems to be following the trend of packing in tables instead of allowing for breathing / walking room. You could tell it was frustrating for the servers, as it was difficult to get people their food/drinks. Sit in the bar.
My husband's grilled salmon was perfect. I ordered the Mixed Seafood Platter; the only item not overcooked was the scallops. Toughest shrimp I've ever had. Must have been an off night. The hostess was kind and friendly, the waitstaff was outstanding and very accommodating. I was so impressed with everything and everyone. There was a wide selection pn fresh fish dishes to choose from. Food was outstanding! We will not only be visiting again but more often and with guests. This is where we eat almost every trip for that romantic dinner.
We are treated first class even though we order wine by the glass from their decent selection.
We noticed that the staff actually reads the note attached to the online reservation and make it a a point of acknowledging us and the event (i.e. birthday, anniversary, new job...). I met a friend there for dinner, and both of us were pleasantly pleased with the everything from the appetizer to the entrees, but DESSERT! Sweet goodness gracious. The bread pudding was recommended, and boy I almost kissed the chef for that recommendation. Now as a sophisticated southern belle with a very discerning taste for bread puddings, I wanted to pass on this one because I only eat my mommy's. Sorry mommy, but they have mastered the bread pudding, and they top it with BLUE BELL! I couldn't! Oh but I did! I am going back this weekend with the husband with the husband for our anniversary.
