  • "I took my Mom here for her birthday along with some family members. The staff was very inviting and placed us in a nice table semi-private from the others. The menus were laid out at the table with "Happy birthday Mom!" on the top of them which was a very nice touch and showed thought on the part of the restaurant. The food was good and we all had something different. The presentation was very nice for each dish and everyone enjoyed their dinner though nothing stood out as amazing. All in all it was a nice experience and were well tended to, I would come back in the future to try this place again."

  • "Tilman has changed this place for the worse. Years ago, there were chunks of crab meat in the gumbo. This time, my cup had 8 pieces of sausage, 6 teeny tiny shrimp, and a few random stands of crab meat. Tequilla shrimp cerviche had the same teeny tiny shrimp. We won't be back."

  • "We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary at Oceanaire and it was the perfect choice! The service was amazing and so was the food. The meal portions were big enough for my husband who likes to eat. The drinks were also very good. I can't wait to bring my friends and family!"

  • "I made reservations for my Best Friend's birthday because of the wonder pictures on the internet and the great location. We early to take advantage of the happy hour specials. The bar menu was fantastic and the drinks were decent. My favorite cocktail is the Oceanaire Mojito, it's very flavorful. After we were seated we were immediately greeted by Juan, our waiter. He was absolutely charming. Our menus were costumed with my best friend's name on top of the menu. This was such a nice touch. The entire dinner was geared around celebrating her birthday. After dinner she was presented with a beautiful flaming ice cream desert. I absolutely loved how they made her feel so special."

  • "We enjoyed our delicious food and Peter, who was our server is always outstanding. One person had a salad and another had the crab cake both were delicious. The bread pudding is to die for- It is truly delectable. We truly appreciate Peter's excellence. He not only provides outstanding service but even remembers what drinks and everything we like. He has a great understanding of the food and menu and is one of the best servers in Houston."

  • "Like other reviews, this is an excellent place to celebrate a birthday and it's very likely that we will return even though the service was noticeably spotty. As charming as the waiter was, we had to remind wait staff that we were still waiting for bread, crab utensils and drink refills. This was around 9:00pm and not that busy. Overall, still a favorable experience for a first-time visit. Outstanding food."

  • "This is a fine restaurant in the Houston Galleria. Access is convenient through the mall garage or at curbside by valet. We went at 2pm and the dining room was quiet with only five or six tables filled. The waiter was superb although service was very slow...two hours to finish. The food is outstanding although the portions are too large for a normal person. Window tables are nice. We have been here a number oftimes and are always eager to return."

The food was great, the waiter Matt and his assistance Jennifer, were top notch. The only downside was a charge for the flaming birthday desert - no one asked if we wanted to be charged $9.95 for what I assumed to be a complementary gesture. I though this was a cheap shot."

  • "Waitstaff was extremely efficient and knowledgeable about offerings. When suggestions were requested the server requested the perspective of the customer, inquiring about types of food the person enjoyed, also if the customer was interested in trying something new, and if so how. My recoomendation of the Chef's preperation of Ahi Tuna was exquisite. Overall a very excellant environment, enjoy a nice meal and conduct business. Reservation definitely recommended."

We are early diners (6:30PM reservations) and it shouldn't require 21/2 to 3 hours to complete the meal - without desert mind you."

I t was my birthday and the restaurant added several touches to make it special - from my name and a birthday greeting printed on the menu to an amazing Baked Alaska dessert. And our waiter specifically told me they WOULD NOT be singing Happy Birthday or doing anything else stupid to mark the occasion - that was a welcome relief for me! The Wild Gulf Red Snapper "Benestante" was the standout dish of the evening although the Fish and Fin stew and Black and Bleu Mahi Mahi were also excellent. I will definitely return to try other items"

  • "We made reservations through open table and when we arrived it was happy hour so we decided to sit in the bar section instead. I now wish we wouldn't have. This was my first time coming to this restaurant and I heard very good reviews, so I will give it another shot, but our service wasn't the best. Our poor waiter (Nathan) was working the bar by himself during happy hour.. not sure why?? He was very nice and did the best he could. I just think I would of enjoyed the experience better not at the bar!!"

  • "We went for a friends birthday. They have a really nice setup. I love steaks, so order one here. It wasn't bad however, it just lacked seasoning. I wanted it medium well with a tip line of pink. It came out to0 brunt for my tasted. But the staff was really attentive. They sent it back and even took it off my check. I'll give them another try."

  • "Made reservations via OpenTable based on a colleague's recommendation while on a business trip. Very vibrant spot and a nice crowd. You could tell this was a very popular place. Oysters were fresh and excellent. Clam chowder excellent. We had a much longer wait between courses than reasonable. No doubt this had to do with an enormous 70-person (that's 7-0) group having dinner that evening. My shark steak was a bit overdone but seasoned well. One colleagues noted his dish was cold. Suspect our orders sat too long under warming lamp waiting to get served (due to volume that night). I don't regret our selection of Oceanaire. Hopefully the next visit won't be on the same night as such a large party and will prove better dining-wise."

  • "We've had the Valentine's Day dinner, but it was a poor-fair experience for me. The food was okay. We ordered grilled salmon, but it was only a 6oz salmon in the middle of a large plate. When I saw that, I thought it is a great salmon, very delicious, but it was not. It was not different than a salmon you can buy from any grocery store. Second problem was the service. Entrees came in 80 minutes, and when I ask the waiter, his answer was surprising: "This is a big night, just be patient." I think this explains how rude he was. He also behaved like we were childhood friends. I warned him for a few times, but he didn't change his attitude. I am curious if all waiters are same in this restaurant, or this waiter is the only one."

  • "A group of 5 from our company were in the Galleria area of Houston for a business conference. We did not have a car and needed to find a restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. Oceanaire was within a 10 minute walk of our hotel. Our table was ready when we arrived, the wait staff attended to our every need, and the recommendations from our server regarding the oysters was excellent. The noise level was low and we were able to carry on a great conversation."

  • "The oysters and oyster selection was exceptional. The escargot was also well executed and delicious. Other than that, they butchered our king crab legs while opening them, which they offered to do for us. Usually they would come cracked still in the shell but it was just a pile of stringy, overcooked meat for $60+/lb. The scallops were also overcooked. Staff seemed under-trained but were friendly and attentive. It was Valentine's day and they were busy so I cut them some slack. I would try it again on a less busy night. Booth seats are great for couples dining, the decor is classy but not over the top. Overall it was nice and romantic for Valentine's day but I felt it was overpriced for the quality, execution and staff knowledge."

  • "Went there on Valentine's day (our first as a couple) and it was perfect. Had an 8 pm reservation, arrived at 7:30 pm, had a drink at the bar while waiting. We were seated shortly after 8 pm. Though the restaurant was full, it was not noisy. We were able to enjoy our food and conversation. Our server made excellent suggestions for our meal and his timing/service was impeccable. Would absolutely recommend the Oceanaire friends/family (already have). Plan to dine there again! My boyfriend loves to upload pics to Instagram and so of course pics of our dinner and various scenes from your restaurant are posted there for all to see. I rarely post to Facebook but had to make note of dinner at the Oceanaire."

  • "We first visited The Oceanaire resturant in the Dallas area, we were amazed at the service and food, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made suggestions since we were first timers. He kept checking with us and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We visited here for my husbands birthday. Our experience was quite different from the other one. Our waiter was not familuiar with the menu. My order was just the opposite of how I ordered it, the shrimp was fried hard. My husband ordered the crab stuffed shrimp, it was on the menu but we were told that the stuffing was not prepared for that day and he could not have the stuffed shrimp. We were so dissapointed that my husband wants keep Perry's as our special place."
