  • "We arrived on time for the July 4th Red, White and Blue special (Filet Mignon and Crab Cake). The service was fantastic. We were seated immediately near the window and the waiter was attentive. The only draw back was that two of our dishes were only luke warm (the crab cakes and macaroni and cheese). Both dishes were sent back for reheating which ruined the dinner some. Once reheated both dishes were delicious (especially the key lime pie). This was our second visit. During our first visit, we had to send the entree back for reheating. We love the restaurant just hated that part of the dinner was only lukewarm. Despite everything, we plan to visit again soon."

Busboy took care of us mostly and kept asking us to pass the dishes to him, and would reach his body across our table rather than behind the individual seats where there was lots of space and no one sitting next to us. I think he thought we worked for him, and got annoyed when we finally chose to ignore his requests. Rude and arrogant waiter, and busboy with an attitude was more than I could handle, and they were not busy. Manager was not much better, and we didn't. Even complain because the busboy looked like he was going to follow us out to the car. Creepy gang there!"

Our server was attentive and prompt and handled our large party very well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and outstanding service, and we are looking forward to returning."

  • "This was my 1st visit even though I've been to Houston about 5/6 times. The Happy Hour is great and you get a good amount of food. I ordered several items. The mussels are perfecto and the oyster Rockafellar was okay. I'm NO fan of bread pudding but OH MY GOD, the BEST!!! Edward was a great server, please ask for him if you sit in the bar/booth area. Overall, very happy and would try again."

  • "It wasn't a confortable dining room. I had been there before with friends. The service was terrible, just a few waiters for all restaurant; it took a lot to attend us; the didn't bring us our first dish at the same time, and for the second one it took too long, we left without dessert and coffee. When they brought the check they charged already 18% for the tip and we were just four. We paid cash and the tip was just a suggestion but instead of bringing the change and let us decide about the tip; the waiter took the decision and just brought the change and took the 18% of the tip. It was a place I used to go and I liked it. I won't ever come back."

  • "I'm a smoke salmon lover. I always try to have as appetizer wherever I go, and I don't always get lucky. At Oceanaire I had the best smoked salmon ever!! My fish was cooked the way I love.Now it's time to describe the overall experience. When I send booked my dinner I mentioned that it's my husband birthday!! As soon as we walked in the hostess greeted us with a happy birthday wish for my husband and she seated us she handed a birthday card signed by the chef and the team working on the floor. I was so impressed. The whole experience was great , our waiter was the best , he was great in each way. I really recommend this restaurant and especially if you like a quiet place with no kids. You're going to love it. I'll go back for sure . Thanks "

  • "We went here for my husband's birthday. I made reservation explaining the occasion. They provided wonderful customer service (i.e. gave him a signed birthday card, placed us at requested seating location, provided us a copy of the daily menu to remember the night, etc) and the food was delicious. They also provided us with a complimentary birthday dessert! It was our first time, but we will definitely be going back. "

  • "Very nice to try your favorite seafood prepared in a different way. The menu is wide enough to please everyone and the meal was paced well. Service was great and actually had some decent interaction with a waiter who was not just a server. Good support staff and all food was enjoyed by all. The main course was served in a large bowl/plate which made it difficult to put aspargus into. Would recommend they offer a small plate if you get any side dishes when your main course has that shape of dish for presentation. We had went thru five courses and approved of all. "

They do it right and in the top 5 of all of the fine dining I have done. I've been in 5 star restaurants in new york London Paris Rome and most major cities in the us. "

  • "The quality of the oysters and the food preparation is just excellent. The service is really bad. From the very moment one gets seated (wait almost 10 minutes for the waiter to show up) to very long intervals to reorder drinks, and with food items that get forgotten sitting on the counter while there is no food on my table. The waiter was very courteous and very apologetic, but still after every apology he just kept on doing an even uglier job. "

  • "Oceanaire is Landry's premier seafood spot in the Houston Galleria. Forget what you think when you hear "Landry's" as this place is sure to exceed your expectations. The menu is creative with fish offerings I have not seen available before, and the tastes delighted all of us celebrating a birthday. And, the Birthday desert, complements of the house, is a baked Alaska to "die for." The only weak spot in the whole affair was the service, which was competent but a bit slow; after all, you should not be in a hurry when you fine dine at a place like this."

  • "High end restaurant with very poor service. I do not recommend. While we were eating our appetizer they brought out our entrees. I sent them away. So of course my entrée never arrived until all the other guests at my table were finished. That was a $34 King Salmon. No dinner for me.(My punishment) The General Manager, Marijke Shugrue, tried to make it right but she was way to late. I asked the waiter to have her come to the table but I had to get up and find her myself. The staff at this restaurant seems to be poorly trained. The waiter should have never been allowed on the floor."

  • "Dinner for three. The appetizers were tasty but from the time we finished our appetizers until we say our waiter again was nearly 30 minutes! I ordered Kingklip and my counterpart ordered salmon. Our guest ordered a Mahi Mahi Tartar. All three came out at about the same temperature... COLD! Two of us wound up not eating an entree and we were given a couple of free drinks for our trouble. Honestly - from an establishment like Oceanaire, I would have expected a coupon for a free meal or a gift certificate. Even the waiter and the manager seemed too rushed to really be attentive to the fact that our dinner was ruined. I kept my cool at the table, but after rethinking the evening, I am really quite upset at their handling of the situation!"
