The Oceanside Seafood Room, part of the Landry group of restaurants, has great food, an extensive wine list, with some nice ones by the glass, and is a welcome addition to Bergen County. Prices are high, but the food is impeccable. Save room at the end for the baked Alaska."

  • "This restaurant is very expensive for what it is, as is Chart House, its sister firm. Bonefish Grill, which has a similar "steak house" approach, is a much better value. I would only return for a reimbursed business meeting or some special occasion for which it was requested by my guest(s)."

  • "Living in Baltimore, I have frequented the Harbor East location many times. I went to this location with clients and was disappointed. When asked what the lobster sizes offered that evening, I was told 1" 1/4. This was at 6pm in the evening. I have regularly ordered 2" 1/2 and 3" lobsters from the Baltimore location. The other entrees ordered were tasty, but overall the experience was not what I expected."

  • "we went for fathers day brunch - we were one of the first customers there and the service was very slow. he was unsure of the brunch menu. then when someone ordered lox onions and eggs (which was on the listing as we entered the restaurant) we were told that that was no longer available. how could a seafood restaurant open for brunch not have lox? another person asked for the crab cake benedict with the eggs over medium. so not only did it take over 30 minutes to get our food (people seated after us got their food and were almost done eating when ours came) but the eggs on the benedict were poached and runny. they were sent back and 10 minutes later more poached eggs arrived. I don't think we will be back for brunch."

  • "Tried Oceanaire 3 times already. Really was hoping each time we went we would love it but we don't. The service and food are just ok. Had several different apps ,entrees, and desserts now and none are really that good. For the prices it's definitely not worth it. We eat at upscale restaurants all the time and don't mind paying for it when the food and service are great. "

  • "Overall restaurant was quite good. Good place for tasty fish. The Char over cous-cous was delightful. They were offering Cakebread Chardonnay for an Incredible $10 a glass...very suprised! Also had a bowl of chowder...spicy and filled with flavor. Service was ok...had to ask for water and bread refills 2x. Waitress was nice but extremely rushed. "

  • "We had such a great memorable night from the moment we walked in. Our personalized anniversary menu made into a great keepsake. Chris our waiter was outstanding. We followed all of his recomendations and he did not steer us wrong. Shrimp and Grits, Salmon with blue cheese butter and lump crab cakes were amazing. The surprise baked alaska and the Kettle One Cosmos were the perfect touch. Cant wait to come back. Thank you so much for making oyr night extra special "

  • "This restaurant is part of the Landry chain and should have restaurant 101 down pat. On the Saturday before MOTHERS DAY, the place ran like a one armed paper-hanger. Service was stretched to breaking point, table wasn't ready, hard to get drinks from bar to table, hard to order the wine, hard to get the order taken, most appys good, mussels dried out broth lackluster. All fish dishes, when they finally came were declared very good, but ONE lonely soft shelled crab??? who does that? We have eaten there once before and returned that night since I figured it was a big enough organization to get past Mother's Day Eve. Will probably go back, we are Landry Members and the fish is fresh and pretty well prepared, but it wont be for a while."

  • "Food was good. Prices were punishing. The price of a glass of wine is almost as much as the full bottle would cost at retail. 300%-400% mark-up. Ouch. Make sure you get a booth in the dining room. Center tables are packed so tight that you can play along with the little girl at the next table on her cell phone game. This restaurant's obvious goal is to squeeze as much $ per square foot as possible. I won't go back."

  • "We reserved by error for 4 instead of 5 and hence had to wait extra to be seated! Not convenient when you have 3 youngsters. Our server was a bit off and was not intuitive at all. Water was never replenished and didn't really check on us to make sure everything was ok. Don't think we'll be returning anytime soon!"

  • "Went to Oceanaire for my anniversary and after ordering a very expensive and small filet and lobster tail I realized my steak was purple very under cooked so I sat and watched my beautiful wife eat while they cooked my steak properly, then after she was done and dishes were cleared she watched me eat my reheated dinner. No one asked if we were happy or offered anything so and the end of a expensive dinner pretty dissatisfied "

  • "We will not return to the restaurant. The server got the order wrong and brought an appetizer and salad for one of our party. (He cancelled the salad when he ordered the appetizer.) I ordered my salmon medium rare and it came raw. The manager offered to remake the dish, but the others in our party had already eaten. The salmon was deducted from the bill and the restaurant offered dessert on the house. But the key lime pie had no key limes in it...only lemons. Although the restaurant was gracious about the bill, it is expensive and there are lots of better restaurants at those prices."

  • "Date night with my GF to Oceanaire. We are regulars at the restaurant next door so wanted to try some different food. Place was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Hostess and manager were excellent in accommodating my seating preference. Waiter was misinformed - said appetizer would be enough for two people - i am 6'1 200lbs but my gf is 5'1 100lbs - we aren't exactly small, but not too big either. Food took forever to come. I got the NY Strip - which was delicious. She got the scallops, which was underwhelming. Sour cream mashed potatoes and hashbrowns as side dishes were to die for. We were in a rush at that point, ate food, went next door to get more food. This place has tons of potential, but is overpriced!"

They were very gracious and offered me another dish right away. For the Manhattan prices I would hope the food would be better. If the food was as good as the service I would dine there again. "

  • "I am very glad that the McCormick & Schmick's which formerly occupied this space has been replaced by a much higher quality restaurant. Great menu (LOTS of choices), great wine list. Service was friendly and helpful. The only blip was when the busboy didn't seem to think it odd to push his way to the table (a table for 2) to deliver water, bread basket, etc., while we were conversing with the waitress and attempting to place our order. A very, very good experience overall…."

  • "My husband and I were thrilled with the food, it's presentation was excellent. I had an assortment of various oysters from the west coast and a pair from Prince Edward island. We had an excellent waitress whowas eextremely knowledgeable in the entire menus.Christine. gave us some suggestions, which w as s very helpful. My husband had the blue cheese salad for his appetizer and mussels for his main course. He loved it. I had skate for my entire, outstanding. For dessert we shared the key lime pie- very.very good. I had green tea, which most restaurants don't have. I was very impressed and are looking forward to going back."
