  • "My husband and I were on a short vacation for his birthday, and stayed at a hotel nearby. I had read great reviews about Oceanaire, so I made reservations. Are we glad we came!! The food was AMAZING — I had the salmon coho and he had the scallops and we shared the creamed corn side dish. The service was phenomenal, the waitstaff was super friendly, and the wine list — OMG! Hard to choose just one! Definitely a costly dinner - but worth the splurge. We'll be back someday! Until then, I'll be craving that salmon coho!"

  • "My girlfriend and I dined late on a Monday night. The restaurant was perfect for our downtown Denver date. Our server was very knowledgeable, and walked us through the made daily menu. We went with his recommendation and started off with some oysters and wine. I had the scallops and added a lobster, simply amazing. My girlfriend went with a salmon dish. I was only allowed a few bites before she quickly devoured the dish. Even the bread was delicious."

In cities where there is lots of walking to be done near the restaurant, I would suggest larger water glasses or more frequent visits by the assistants pouring water! Crab cakes are always good. I'd also suggest more locally sourced fish - trout is in season and available in the areas around Denver, but instead you offer a farm raised trout from Idaho or some such place. It would be nice to support the local fishermen near your restaurants, for at least some of your offerings."

  • "We were treated like royalty from the time we drove up to Valet until our car was ready and waiting outside upon departure. The wine list was superb! We went to the Alaskan Seafood Wine and Food pairing event and it didn't disappoint! This was not my first time but it was my best experience! Assistant Manager was lovely, helpful, and knowledgeable! I will come again and again! This will be the restaurant I will take out-of-towners to!"

  • "Service is excellent. But food sounds better on the card than it is for real. We tried the halibut with caramelized onions, the Dynamite swordfish for entrees and the seafood platter (oyster, lobster, shrimps and Alaskan King Crab) for appetizer. We can't recommend them. If you are looking for a place with a great seafood (natural flavors and also creative preparations) I highly recommend Jax Fish House. Bread pudding (dessert) was the best part of the night."

  • "West coast oyster appetizers were fresh, delicious and well shucked - especially the kumomotos. Complementary veggies/pickles were sparse, though the waiter happily supplied pickled peppers when I remarked that I had been looking forward to having them. The 2 lb Lobsters were so-so. One had a shell full of dark spots, suggesting that the lobster was old. The waiter happily (insistently) replaced it, bringing a complementary shrimp cocktail as compensation. Even after replacement, the lobsters didn't rise above "meh," but Denver is a long way from Maine. Even with professional, friendly service it was hard to escape feeling that the Denver Oceanaire doesn't supply the same seafood quality/freshness as the east coast outlets."

  • "The service was good until the end of the meal. The server was very attentive at the beginning of the meal, but his follow ups really declined toward the middle and end of the meal. Drinks were not delivered timely (i.e. wine w/ meal & coffee w/ dessert). We literally had to wait to eat until our wine was served and we made it 1/2 way through dessert before our coffee was delivered. We ordered the stuffed trout and it was a mediocre dish at best. The waiter talked this dish up regarding presentation etc, but we didnt see anything special w/ the presentation and the stuffing was very lacking in seafood...... a disappointing choice. The oysters (although over priced) & keylime pie, however, were quite delicious."

  • "My husband and I went to Oceanaire for "date night" and just had an amazing experience. From the staff being super friendly, to opening the door for you and being very hospitable, I could not have asked for more. Our waiter was Jack, and he was very knowledgable about the menu and the food. He also was very attentive to us and never let us feel that we were less important than his other tables. We were treated "first-class" the entire time. I had the halibut and my husband had the lobster.......It was wonderful! The food was top notch and you get exactly what you pay for: excellence! I will definitely be returning!"

The server was well versed in her wine suggestions and descriptions of various fishes available. The fois gras scallops were unbelievable... and finish with the cheesecake.   • "We won't be going back to Oceanaire Seafood Room. While we love the experience, and the food is still good, it's just ridiculously expensive. My wife and I each had 2 appetizers (one of which was a $8 wedge salad) and nothing but water to drink and the bill was $90. Just not worth it. The crab cakes, which continue to be very good, are like mini-me versions of what they used to be. They are tiny, but yet are $18 each. See ya......"

  • "We went to celebrate my husbands birthday. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The "palette cleanser" and hot towel were nice touches. The escargot was awesome, and the potatoes au gratin were out of this world, so rich and creamy! The service is top notch- but one suggestion: get larger water glasses! The service is so on top of filling these tiny glasses that they are at the table so often it feels intrusive. Larger glasses would be more efficient and make for a less inturruptive dinner. Small complaint. I know. But otherwise it was wonderful and we will return soon."

  • "We visit Oceanaire to celebrate special occasions and always have an excellent experience. The serving staff is attentive, personable, and very competent; the menu has a variety of fresh seafood offerings as well as steaks, along with a good selection of oysters, appetizers, salads, side dishes, and desserts. It is the only place we know of this side of Baltimore that does Maryland crab cakes correctly. We've never had any dish there that wasn't perfectly prepared and delicious. It is expensive but worth it."

I felt we were not dressed for the restaurants atmosphere but we were not treated any differently than all the rest of the customers. Our experience was wonderful and the food was great!   • "The service and ambience were outstanding,the food however was not very good. The stuffed shrimp were tiny and the stuffing mostly bread and not tasty. We had to pay an extra $4 to change the side. The hash browns were delicious but the extra charge was in bad taste. Everything was overpriced for what you received. The cod was to come with cauliflower and macadamia nuts and you needed a magnifying glass to find them. The cod was extremely bland. The fruit crisp was enough to feed many but overly sweet and gooey. This was a very costly meal and the worst on an 8 week trip across the country!"

  • "Our waiter killed the occasion. He upsold absolutely everything. When we complained that a couple of fish dishes were overcooked, he said flippantly, "I'm sorry to hear that". Then he walked away. When one person in our party accidentally spilled her drink he suggested she should stop drinking. The food was otherwise okay. The service was stunningly unprofessional."
